Only want easy clients

Company was real big and bad about scheduling a consultation. As soon as it got remotely “outside the box” and I asked questions or asked for examples the guy stopped responding. Sent demo links that don’t work. Glad we didn’t sign.

Dishonest staff and an untrustworthy company. I canceled during the trial period, yet they continued charging my credit card for five months without my knowledge. They denied the cancellation, never followed up as promised, and I later discovered they have an F rating with the BBB. This company should be avoided.

To clarify the situation: We’ve reviewed our records carefully and were unable to find any cancellation request during your trial period. The first documented communication from you came on November 12, in response to a payment notice. At that point, our team acknowledged your request, worked to confirm the details, and later asked for your help locating any earlier cancellation message so we could investigate further. Unfortunately, we never received that information.

Your account was subsequently canceled, and throughout the process our team made multiple attempts to follow up and resolve the issue transparently. We don’t deny cancellations, and we don’t continue service intentionally without consent — but we do rely on documented requests to make changes accurately.

We understand your frustration, and we regret that this experience left you feeling unheard. At the same time, we stand by our processes, our communication records, and our commitment to operating with integrity.

If I could give this business zero…

If I could give this business zero stars, I would. They made a lot of promises to get us to sign on and then could not do any of what they said they would do. Found a different company with far better ai capabilities for less than half the price. Smith also made me pay for multiple months of service that I didn't use - at all - while they were trying to help set up our account. RUN, don't walk to find another solution for your business.

While we regret that your experience didn’t meet expectations, many of the delays in setup stemmed from awaiting responses when we attempted to reach your team, which prevented us from completing setup within the original money-back guarantee window.

After your onboarding call in early July, our team followed up multiple times to move forward with the configuration and finalize your call flow — the essential step needed to begin setup. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive an initial version of that flow until August 29, nearly a month after the guarantee period was originally set to end — and even then, the call flow we received from your team required major simplification before our work could begin. As a courtesy, we extended your billing date, effectively lengthening your refund eligibility to give your team more time. However, setup continued well beyond that period due to ongoing delays in receiving your finalized flow, which we needed to proceed.

Regarding your statement that we “could not do any of what we said,” the specific capability in question — using external intake forms — was not mentioned until late October, several months into setup. When it was raised, our account manager clarified that external forms aren’t yet compatible with AI Receptionist and offered a workable alternative, which was not pursued.

At no point did our team overpromise or guarantee functions that the AI Receptionist could not perform. In fact, we were transparent throughout setup about feasibility of all necessary features before activation.

Throughout this process, our team maintained consistent communication despite periods of unresponsiveness on your end, clearly informed you that feasibility needed to be confirmed before promising features, and extended courtesies to support your delays.

While we regret that the project didn’t move forward as planned, we remain proud of the transparency and diligence our team demonstrated while trying to make the system work for your needs.

Great experience for me and my customers!

I’ve been using Smith AI for the last four months. I was incredibly fearful about what my experience would be working with an AI company that had not been around for very long, but my biggest concerns were how it was going to have an impact on my customers. I just bought out my business partner in June and was essentially relaunching my business without having the sales staff that I previously had. I knew I needed help on a lot of it, I just wasn’t able to afford hiring a sales team to sit in the office and work alongside me. The system is very user-friendly in terms of setting up your AI assistant and my AI assistant answers and handles calls accordingly to how I set it up and based on customer interactions. It truly is remarkable! What I love the most is that if the caller wants to speak to a live person, my AI assistant will transfer the call over to a live person who then intern handles the call so professionally, and according to my preferences and preset standards I set for calls to be answered by live agents. I immediately get an email transcription for my AI assistant and or the live agent to myself, and my colleagues letting me know that a call came in and with every little detail about the call I absolutely love using Smith AI and don’t think I will change. I more believe I will grow my business with them as they grow by adding new call center services.

Smith.ai used to be fantastic

Smith.ai used to be fantastic, they have been our answering service of choice for over 8 years. Within the last year their quality has declined significantly. Their departments are unorganized, there's no ownership for handling actual customer issues, response time on the back end is significantly delayed. Ironically, attempting to talk with someone who has any authority to make a decision is impossible. Simple issues and questions will go literally weeks before being properly answered, but more likely a canned or ai generated email with be received instead.

Smith.ai has since done a fantastic job to help correct the issues we were experiencing, specifically when Coralyn and Christene got involved following up and continuing to ensure the accounts are updated and working correctly.

Call Handling Made Easy

I love how Smith.ai lets me filter calls effortlessly—I can choose which callers go straight to voicemail and even mark spam so it never clogs up my phone.
