Smith.ai has gone from great to terrible

I have used smith.ai for several years. They were great until the last few months. suddenly most of our incoming calls were marked as spam. We have repeatedly informed smith.ai about this problem. They repeatedly assured us of all the steps they were taking to fix the problem. They were supposed to remove the spam blocker for all calls a month ago, they claim they did this, yet we are still getting most of our calls marked as spam. This has cost my business money. This is pathetic. Another good company disintegrates into mediocrity.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the opportunity to respond. We know how critical it is for your business to receive every legitimate call. We take your concerns seriously, as evidenced by our efforts, which we detail below.

When you first reached out on July 21, we immediately worked to schedule a meeting with our Senior Manager of Client Support, which took place on July 31, based on your schedule. The first step in the meantime was disabling call blocking while we worked to uncover why some valid calls were being marked as spam. During that initial meeting, a member of our tech team joined to help troubleshoot, and spam filtering was disabled on July 31 to resolve the issue. As a courtesy, we also applied a 50% credit for August, which you accepted.

From the start, we advised that if the issue persisted, despite spam filtering being disabled, it could be tied to your phone provider. Reports from you on August 7 and August 21 confirmed the issue continued. Our team responded to both reports and, on August 22, advised you to disable Caller ID to resolve the matter. When we didn’t hear back, we followed up on August 26 to provide further assistance. At that time, you requested — and we granted — a free month of service. At this point, the next step is for you to follow up directly with your VoIP provider.

We understand that this issue has been disruptive to your business, but we are limited in troubleshooting it further. We cannot control your VoIP provider, so that must be done by you, the account owner. With over 4,000 clients and a decade of experience, issues like these are thankfully rare but do arise from time to time. We remain committed to supporting you until this matter is fully resolved, and we hope at that time you'll revise your review to better reflect the work and effort we have (and will continue to) put in.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. The ai actually sound like a live human. That’s what got my attention. The actual humans behind them not so great.
I quickly realized this wasn’t what we were looking for and canceled but was then contacted by Jorge, an associate at Smith Ai. He said I could try it risk free for 30 days and suggested an onboarding call to show us how to train and use our Ai. We agreed and tried it for a couple weeks but there are just too many kinks needing worked out still. We ended up losing too many calls. I emailed right away to cancel again and got a reply explaining that I now needed to give them 30 days notice again and cancel again and pay for a whole additional month.
I would be very wary, don’t trust what they tell you. Dishonest sales associates.

You first contacted us on July 9, within your 30-day money-back guarantee period, to cancel. Our onboarding team immediately began processing your cancellation request and offered to meet with you to see if we could tailor our services to better fit your business needs. On July 11, you agreed to meet with our team member to discuss how our service could be configured to best suit your needs (two days before the guarantee period ended), and ultimately met with our team on July 18. Due to your agreement to meet with a team member to optimize your account, the initial cancellation was halted. After your meeting on July 18, you decided to continue with the service, which extended your subscription into a second month.

Your money-back guarantee period came to an end as of July 13. From that point forward, any cancellations would follow our standard 30-day notice policy. Unfortunately, during the July 18 meeting, we did not communicate this policy clearly — a lapse that understandably caused confusion when you requested to cancel again on August 10, just three days before your third billing date. While our team had reached out twice before July 9 (during the guarantee period) to check in (without receiving a response), we take responsibility for the missed opportunities to explain the cancellation policy when you chose to continue (July 11 & 18).

We’ve since closed your account per your request. We issued a refund for the second month of service, and we were able to rush and get your cancellation processed with almost no notice, so you never had to make a third payment.

We also want you (and everyone reading this) to know that we’ve taken steps to ensure this kind of communication gap doesn’t happen again. With 10 years in business, we still make mistakes from time to time. Our policies are in our terms and conditions, but we appreciate that it can be helpful to go over such policies together.

I am a healthcare provider and have recently signed up with smith.ai. So far I am loving their service. They learned our needs quickly and the flow is great. The ai was trained within a couple of days, as soon as we completed the FAQ's that is used by the AI to answer questions. They have live agents answering calls 24/7/365 in case the caller wishes to speak to someone. My clinic is now open 24/7.

We hired the AI service a week ago and have already have two scheduled consultations. The AI service transfers to live agents to assist with scheduling. We have had less than stellar experiences with live answering services in the past, so were overjoyed to find that the live agents with Smith AI have been consistently professional, warm and helpful to our potential clients. Life saver

A great product for a small and large business

The agents are so incompetent that they…

The agents are so incompetent that they always fail to follow call handling instructions. They have extreme difficulty following even the most straight forward scripts. The agents intentionally make mistakes to boost follow up/ outward calls. I emailed Haley, the Client Support, but she procrastinated. The company is only interested in charging you. Be aware!
