We took a bit of time to select our surveyor and noticed the good reviews for SMRE. Setting up the survey was made easy by Mair, who handles the admin side of the arrangement with efficiency and speed. Steven made initial contact to help us decide on the type of survey. After doing the survey and before he sent it through, Steven gave us a very helpful half hour to discuss his findings and explain everything about how the survey would be presented. This was extremely useful. The survey was clear and well compiled, with a lot of detail focussing on what was important to be aware of. The 85 page document with plentiful photographs is a real lesson in how these things should be done. We were delighted with it and it also represented excellent value for money. Steven is also very approachable and was happy to clarify the small number of questions it raised. It gave us a sound basis on which to proceed with the house purchase and a list of things to follow up after we move. We would recommend Steven 100%.

Really great service from this company. The report was very detailed and professional. I was vert pleased with the service recieved. It was on time and done in same day with a phone call from surveyor to go through report with me in detail. Above and beyond what I had expected. Best price that I found too! Also, they answer the phone and polite service.

I asked SMRE to survey 2 properties for me. One, a sandstone which turned out to have a £20k damp problem, and the other, a flat, I subsequently bought. On both occasions, Steven's thorough report was instrumental in my final decision.
I asked for a Level 3 survey and Steven's follow-up phone calls and reports literally went from top to bottom of the properties, highlighting even the smallest issue. His instructions for my conveyancer were clear as well, and photographic evidence backed up any faults found. All at a very competitive rate too.

Fantastic service from start to end. A quote for the survey was sent over and all was booked in amazingly fast. Having the call from Steve to explain everything in detail was brilliant and helps you to understand so much more than just reading the report. It's worth it just for the phone call, never mind the detailed report. I wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Almost immediately after I first emailed, I was responded to regarding a survey being done on the property that I am buying .
They made contact with the estate agents and I was informed that the survey was booked for the 8th of July.
I was texted on the 8th to advise that they had just completed it and would be rung the following day by Steven.
I was given a very thorough breakdown of what the survey entailed by him and the document was emailed to me that day.
At all times, I was kept informed, was able to ask as many questions as I needed to and would wholeheartedly recommend this company.
My daughter had recommended them to me as they were the surveyor's for her buyer and she said the person who attended was very knowledgeable, polite, and she would use them herself if she decides to move again.

Arrangements made quickly and a detailed survey report provided the following day. This was talked through and explained clearly and thoroughly.
