Snag My New Home Avis 

Snag my new home did a survey for me recently and I have to say, I was very impressed. There is no way that I would have noticed all the faults that the surveyor picked up on. From the top to the bottom, both inside and outside of the house the surveyor was very thorough. I have spoken to a couple of neighbours who said that they really regretted not getting a snag company in. So to anyone moving in to a new home, take my advice and get this company in.

Booking was straightforward. Staff were professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I also found the communication via Watsapp helpful.

We are happy with the SNAG report completed by the team. The SNAG report helped us to identify the structural defect in our new property which we would have missed it. All items listed in the SNAG report accepted by the builder and now fixing it.

Great service and attention to detail, which is what you need when booking a snagging! But for us, this is our first home, so we really needed this and we counted on it. Mr Waseem was very thoroughly checking everything in the flat, but also openly discussing with us and answering all our questions since we aren't that familiar with the process. The final report he produced was clear, comprehensive and very easy to follow and was received within 72 hours.

All in all, great experience!

Booking and scheduling was easy. They were good in communicating through e-mail and whatsapp. I booked a pre completion snag on a new build flat and the surveyor was great. The surveyor identified quite a lot of cosmetic flaws that were addressed as soon as I sent the report. I would have not noticed the cosmetic issues if I did the inspection myself. Because the surveyor knows what to look at, he was able to identify and find even the smallest gaps in the ceiling lighting fixtures. Even the missing cupboard door silicone pad was noted. Well worth what I spent for the pre-completion inspection. Also, I found them to be the cheapest among the surveyors that I considered to do the PCI.

If you are buying a new build and want genuine peace of mind, do NOT use Snag My New Home. I hired them to inspect my new Countryside Homes (Vistry) property, trusting their expertise to catch the technical and structural issues I might overlook as a buyer. I essentially paid for nothing and was given a completely false sense of security.

Since they handed over their report, I have personally had to uncover a shocking amount of severe, fundamental defects that their inspector walked right past and completely ignored.

Here is just a sample of the glaringly obvious issues Snag My New Home missed:

Major Structural Wall Bowing: They completely failed to notice a severely bowed and bulging structural wall in the main family room. The deviation was so extreme it was forcing the skirting board into a curve, yet their inspector missed it entirely.

Roofing & Brickwork Failures: They signed off on the roof, completely missing that the rear roofline was visibly bowed because the bricklayers had built the walls too high (as later confirmed by the developer's own roofing contractor). They also missed clear structural bulges on the front roofline and jagged, misaligned roof verges across the property.

Plumbing Hazards: I had to personally identify an unsupported central heating tank on the landing, broken shower seals, a loose showerhead, and an active toilet leak pouring water onto the bathroom floor.

Missing Specifications: A professional snag should check the home against the developer's specification. They failed to notice that the TV aerial points were completely missing from both the Master Bedroom and the Family Room.

Exterior & Landscaping: They missed severely unlevelled ground requiring structural leveling (leaving a utility cover unseated), leaning fence posts, damaged boundary boards, and dead turf.

Interior Finishes: They missed wavy, uneven joints where the walls meet the ceilings across multiple rooms.

Identifying major masonry failures, bowing structural walls, plumbing leaks, and missing electrical points is literally the bare minimum expectation of a professional snagging inspector. Instead, I have had to spend weeks personally battling the site manager and developers over massive defects that Snag My New Home should have documented on day one.

Save your money. You are better off walking around your new house with a spirit level and your own eyes than paying Snag My New Home for a substandard, superficial inspection. Avoid them at all costs.

If you want to know exactly how incompetent this company is, just look at their ridiculous excuse. They actually asked me: "If the house had major structural issues, why did you buy it?"

This proves they don't even understand the basic timeline of the industry they operate in. I hired them for a POST-completion snagging survey—meaning the inspection happens after the purchase is legally complete. That is exactly what a standard snagging service is for.

Instead of taking accountability, they are trying to deflect from the fact that I had to personally document over 160 snags that their "professional" inspector walked right past. My personal snag list was entirely accepted by the developer, who even explicitly told me that the professional snag report I paid for was a complete waste of money.

To warn any future buyers, here is an updated list of the massive, glaring issues this company completely missed:

Major Structural & Brickwork Failures: An entire exterior wall built visibly out of plumb right from the foundation bricks, multiple sections of the roof misaligned with obvious deformations, a severely bowed interior wall that bent the skirting board, and botched brickwork on the rear roof (which the developer's own roofer later admitted to in writing).

Safety & Plumbing Hazards: An entirely unsupported water tank on the landing, a damaged and unsafe loft access board, and a loft left full of builder's rubbish.

Flooring Defects: LVT flooring in both bathrooms lifting because the joints were laid incorrectly, plus damaged carpets.

Exterior & General Finishes: Multiple uneven exterior patio slabs, a damaged window, wavy interior walls throughout, and missing TV media points in the main living spaces.

No amount of excuses, insulting replies, or hiding behind Terms & Conditions changes the fact that they missed over 160 legitimate defects, including fundamental structural and safety hazards. Their defensive response perfectly proves my point about their complete lack of professionalism and zero customer care. Trust the 1-star reviews on this page. Save your money and avoid them at all costs.

Great communication from start til finish. The survey was very thorough, and was published as as a succinct document that the developer was able to use and refer back to inorder to rectify the snags.

I used snag my new home to conduct a post completion snagging survey on a new home I bought with Taylor Wimpy. I was very pleased with the service provided and the snagging report issued was massively helpful in getting the developer to remediate defects. I have recommended snag my new home to others completing in my development and would happily use again.

The inspection was very thorough with plenty elements pointed out that we had not originally considered. The response was also prompt and well presented in a room by room breakdown

Absolutely disgusting service, avoid avoid avoid the guy turned up 1.5 hours late was completely uninterested, very very rude to my wife, didn't have the tools to complete the job. In the end we asked him to leave it was a Saturday we wasted half a day of the weekend and he just didn't want to be there awful company the people in the office on the wassap where the same, don't waste your time or money!!

My partner and I purchased the ‘Complete Package’ which included a pre-completion inspection and a post-completion inspection. We’ve now had both done so I can give our overall feedback.

Our encounters with the snaggers were brilliant. Elijah was very knowledgeable and thorough and took time to explain things and answer all of my questions. He was also incredibly personable too which helps when having a stranger come into your home!

The reports we received were detailed and allowed us to get the snags resolved with our developer. The use of their thermal gun also allowed us to see potential issues with our underfloor heating ahead of needing to use it in the Winter.

I would highly recommend getting a snag survey done from SnagMyNewHome as it provided us with peace of mind and from our experience they only hire quality snaggers. Can’t recommend them enough!
