Staff is friendly which lulls you into thinking that they are looking out for your best interests. However, Somi is the most dishonest dental practice I have ever encountered. They pad the bill with unnecessary procedures and products and proceed with procedures that were declined by my dental insurance provider and not informing of the denials prior to doing the work. They claimed that they used up my annual benefits when I ended up with $558 in unused benefits for 2024. Alice, who I believe is the office manager claimed that she went through the billing line by line with me which is a total lie. They even added a Braun toothbrush which I never asked for or needed since I already purchased one less than a year ago for less than half of what they charged. It took me months to get the charge reversed. If she supposedly went line by line with me then that would be the first thing that I would have questioned. She told me that some of my payments were do to running out of benefits for 2024. Again, another lie. It took them 4 months and multiple extra visits to have two crowns done. I've never had to wait longer than 3 weeks for a crown. They also switched dentists during the process. I contracted with Dr. Lopez not a newly minted dentist. It took her 2.5 hours to take the impressions. She was less competent than the dental assistant. She didn't try to color match the teeth so I had to have the crowns redone. I chose this practice because they were Humana approved and had an office near my home. Low and behold, after one visit to their Boynton office, they closed it requiring me to travel 35 minutes to their Boca office. I am a senior citizen and they took complete advantage of me. I spoke to Humana and they are going to review their billing. I am filing a complaint with Humana as well so they will consider removing them as a provider. DISHONEST DENTAL PRACTICE. Don't use if you care about how your money is spent.
