We had a great day out with Richard and Sarah on their yacht, sailing out from Portland marina and around the bay, docking in gorgeous Weymouth harbour for lunch. Richard and Sarah are warm, kind and down to earth people and taught us just enough to make the day fun. Highly recommended.
Richard did a day tuition on our boat, we gave him a list of what we wanted to learn and he planned it in advance and we had a fantastic day. The way he explains everything is really easy to understand and we really feel like we benefited from the day. We would highly recommend him. We will be using him again for sure.

My wife and I spent three days with Richard and his boat in the Solent. I had sailed with him before and decided back then that I was going to do more sailing with him. Rarely do you meet such a knowledgeable sailor that is at the same time extremely pleasant, has an immaculate boat and knows the area inside out. For anyone looking for an introduction to sailing, like my wife did, or for more experienced sailors like myself I would rate South Coast Mile Builders as a 'best buy'. It really doesn't get better than this.

Fantastic day out on Rocket Dog! Skipper Richard couldn’t do enough for us, taking time to answer questions from a crew which had a variety of sailing experience and skill levels. This is a great way to get sailing miles under your belt regardless of previous experience.

Richard is a very professional and friendly skipper who makes you feel very comfortable and safe on his very well maintained and managed yacht. I have done several thousands of miles both on my own boats and lots of others so I can recognise a good skipper and boat. I will definitely sail with Richard and Rocket Dog II again. Great Fun!

We had 3 days of excellent sailing on Rocket Dog ll sailing from Gosport to Portland and back via Poole, a total of 170 miles. She is an excellently maintained and equipped yacht providing a top class sailing experience. Richard is a very experienced and able skipper who works hard to ensure his customers get what they want from their voyage. I would recommend him to anyone, whether experienced or relatively new to sailing, who wants to build miles, develop their sailing skills or simply to enjoy a few days sailing like we did.

A great few days out with Richard on Rocket Dog II for our sailing club members, day sailing in and around the Solent.
Richard involved everyone from novices to experienced sailors, in all aspects of sailing. Very positive feedback from some 30 members overall.
I joined Richard on Rocket Dog 11, for a day sail, with five other Lymington Town Sailing Club members. The day was a great success with some good sailing in the Solent. Richard is a very experienced skipper and instructs in a clear easily understood way.
An excellent day out on the Solent sailing with Richard. He is highly knowledgeable, skilled and experienced which makes for a safe and reassuring day. You know you are in safe hands. We all had turns at the helm, practiced knots and learnt about winds, tides, wind over tide, etc. Richard shares his knowledge and I highly recommend him.
First time out sailing and really enjoyed it. Richard was very patient and very good at explaining what to do without making you feel an idiot when you got it wrong.
Wonderful day of sailing with Richard. The yacht was beautiful, perfect for chartering. Richard was very knowledgable and helpful, giving clear instructions and help where necessary.
Will definitely go again!
