Spartan Campers Avis 

In an arena where there are many players, not all teams are equal. Spartan sits head and shoulders above the rest with a perfect combination of both personal and professional touch. We used Spartan’s source and convert service for a low mileage T6.1 Highline DSG with barn doors and spent a very pleasurable day in Coventry choosing every aspect of the interior and exterior of the van. Joe and Kevin were absolute stars and no question was too daft and no request too much trouble. We received continual updates with photos throughout the build, which was incredibly exciting (and a bit scary!). Handover day came and the entire clan (Mr, Mrs and Sons 1 & 2) descended on Coventry to collect. We were met at the station by Kevin in nice cool car (it was boiling outside) and after a short drive we arrived at Spartan. As we walked towards the showroom Kevin proudly announced “There she is!” and we were absolutely blown away. Parked across the entrance was all our hopes and dreams realised, a truly beautiful camper in two tone candy white and receda green (who will now be known as Davina) Decent coffees all round were next, before two tours of the van, split between Joe and Kevin, who were only just a little less excited than we were! A truly wonderful experience with Spartan, from our very first meeting at The Newbury show, to waving goodbye as we pulled away. If you are considering a purchase, you will not find anywhere else that offers such a complete and well rounded service as that which we have received from Spartan!

We first had a visit at end of June 25. Spartan staff were lovely. We even got a ice cream as it was a hot day. We picked a van that we liked that was ready to go. So we came back to collect a week later. We collected 07/07/2025. Handover was informative.
Conversions are lovely really high quality finish.

Been on about getting a camper here for years so I cashed in a pension some months ago paid the deposit and drove from Cornwall to Coventry to pick the spec etc but sadly just into it all going through the finance company said no to finance on the van although we were putting down over 10 grand so since we got a no I messaged spartan they read the message and not one of them have called to see what we can now do or even offer our deposit back! I ended up buying a new car and we thought as the mrs has like 5 pensions we would do the camper thing next year instead but feeling a little pissed about spartan to tell the truth and would we pick them next year

I have been dreaming of owning a VW campervan for years and Spartan have truly blown me away from the first phone call to collecting Fri 6 June. I went down to Coventry from Lincoln and was able to get a tour of the workshop and meet the team and discuss the final part of the build. Spartan have really nailed it absolute professional build and by far the best i’ve seen. The quality is exceptional and along with warranty/assistance and a full service before you drive away which includes a cam belt change who can beat that. Picked up my converted campervan mid may from Spartans. Everyone i have dealt with from Day 1 (Kevin, Jay, Fraser) have been very helpful and professional from the initial sourcing of the van, building the spec to the handover. The quality of workmanship by the whole team is exceptional. I would highly recommend spartan Campers to anyone looking at a conversion.

Wow, What an amazing professional service we've had with Spartan campers, from there stand at Newbury motor home show to the hand over. No pushy sales, just great knowledge and information about there product and camper van conversions. From our first visit to Spartan Campers, there was no pressure to sell to us. We were shown round the build facilities which was great, then after coffee we discussed our van requirements. We visited several times to discuss any issues and they always had time to discuss different ideas with us. After changing our minds several times regarding the van spec, we settled on the way forward.
Having dealt with most of the Spartan team - Joe, Kevin, Lee, Mark, Fraser, Jay who are all very passionate about what they do and sharing their knowledge and experience to novice campervaners. They happily took on the challenge to source specific items for our van which was not common on any other builds.
They would frequently communicate with us over the period of the build to update us on the van's progress.
On the day of collection we had a complete walk round of the camper to explain in detail the Do's and Don'ts which was very useful
Everyone was incredibly helpful and never an issue to go out of the way to accommodate our every need, even at late stages of the build when we found out that a tracker needed to be installed for insurance purposes.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends for the excellent service we received.

After dreaming of owning a camper van for years, then spending a few years researching companies, whilst following Spartans, we finally made the leap—albeit under heartbreaking circumstances. When Hubby was diagnosed with incurable cancer, we knew we had to change our lifestyle and focus on making meaningful memories. Purchasing our camper van felt like a big step towards that.

Picked up my very high spec Ravenna blue van on the 10th April. I travelled down on the train and was collected from the station which was a really nice touch. I was given a thorough handover of the van so feel confident in its use going forward as I am a bit of a newbie. There were a couple of very minor issues which were rectified there and then and the conversion is superb. Everything I wanted and more. The customer service and communication throughout has been excellent and I’m confident that the aftercare will be just as good. I drove back to Halifax with a massive smile. From start to finish Spartan have been fantastic. I was invited down to check out the show room and met the team.
Knowledgeable and passionate about the vans. They helped me pick the right van and guided me through the whole process.
Today was the day I collected my van, I was picked up from the train station and taken to the showroom. My van waiting in all it's glory....... I am absolutely made up with everything.... I was welcomed in by the team and taken through everything I needed to know about the van.

Where do we start….. Spartan Campers are your go to converters for creating your dream Campervan adventures. We had been planning to upgrade from camping to the added luxury of a Campervan, it’s a minefield out there with all in sundry offering the world, although little in the way of understanding you as the customer. We had been planning / roughly specking our van for about a year prior to coming across Spartan Campers. Made an on line enquiry expecting the hard sell, totally the opposite. Mark called back, listened to the outline of the dream, although rather pushing for a stock van or suggesting we must by now, he listened, kept in touch over the next few months before we met the gang in Newbury at a show.
Again , no hard sell, sat down, went through my roughy list of requirements, Mark discussed what we eventually expected, managing our expectations with a degree of confidence. Mark introduced us to Lee, to discuss the electronic requirements. Went away feeling confident and assured, once a final spec was decided, Spartan Van’s not only had the ability to build our dream, but also once built, it would not be thank you Mam good by, there would be ongoing support.

Several months past, Mark keeping in touch, I visited the factory in August 2024, sat with Fraser and Lee again going through our requirements, allowing Spartan to consider, agreeing or making subtle changes which meant little compromises or an improvement to what I had been looking for.

Several more visits, telephone calls, then enter Joe, who I would say has such a passion for the companies client’s that is shown in abundance of knowledge, management of expectations and professionalism.

A final spec was agreed, a spec pushing the envelope, although a challenge Spartan are more than capable of providing.

The van was sourced, again with Joe and Mark walking us through this process, we never felt overwhelmed or confusion, just good old plain speaking, with little fuss or complications.

Lee, Mark, Joe, Fraser and now enter Neil, keep us in the loop with the build, identifying any issues, that we worked out together in a no fuss, again plain speaking and from Spartan an up front and transparent format that helped us feel not only were we at the centre of this build, but also valued as clients and part of a wider family.

The day of the collection of Maisie Day, our dream van was unfortunately a cold and damp Sunday morning, nevertheless, Fraser welcomed us with a warm welcoming and coffee, then Joe arrived, taking time out from his family duties (sorry girls if you were late for your trampoline session) then Simon, and finally Neil all took time out of their weekend to be part of the handover.

I was that excited my hand was shaking, when we walked out to the van, wow, not only was she way above our expectations, the build quality, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship and presentation was amazing and professional.

The proof was definitely in the pudding, Spartan Campers not only build VW CAMPERVANS, the craft dreams, the create and hold a journey that is second to none. Every time I visited the factory, the front of house guys to the craftsman who mould your dream were professional, exude a passion and love for what they do.

This is a young company, with a wealth of knowledge and passion, that not only know what they are doing, but provide a service and product you would expect from a company that has been established for many years.

We collected our new camper (Olive) today, she is our first van and we are very much looking forward to the adventures ahead. Spartan build quality is excellent and Joe, whom we met on our first visit, was helpful and listened to all of our wishes. During the build we were kept informed of progress via Kevin and Mark. The handover with Fraser was detailed and thorough. Would highly recommend Spartan for both build quality and service.

From the start of meeting Mark, Kevin and Fraser the team have guided us through the whole journey. You can tell how much they care by how they answer every question we have and also the hand over process was fantastic by Fraser. Spartan Campers did everything they could to make the experience one to remember. If you are looking at buying a camper go to Spartans the workmanship is top draw.

Well what can I say. From start to finish has been a joy. Always happy to answer any questions and always massively helpful with advice. A pleasant experience and we can’t wait to start our adventures in our stunning Spartan camper.

If your looking a camper van this is the place to go. From the start to finish the service was brilliant Joe Mark and Kevin were extremely helpful informative and not at all pushy. We came from Sheffield and didn’t bother to go anywhere else as we where so impressed with them you genuinely couldn’t pick a certain camper as they where all stunning. Thanks again Spartan we look forward to many years in the campervan.

Firstly we are over the moon with our van! We’re based 2hrs away from Spartan Campers but knew as soon as we saw the design and craftsmanship of these vans it would be the place we would get ours from. Our first meeting with Joe lasted for our 2 hrs. We went through everything and felt the team at Spartan were extreme knowledgable and honest with their suggestions. It made our life a lot easier when finalising what we wanted. The only reason we’ve not given them 5 stars was the final handover on the van. Unfortunately it didn’t go exactly to plan, there were several things which were missing from our van when it arrived for us to collect. These were swiftly resolved but should have been picked up before it was presented to us, the final handover just seemed a little rushed and hectic. The communication with the progress pictures could also have been better too. All in all though as I said, the final van is something we’ve always dreamed about. Thanks Team Spartan!

We visited Spartan on impulse to have a look at a van. As soon as we walked through the welcoming doors I knew we wouldn’t be leaving without placing an order for our dream van. Spartan is like the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory of campers. They have thought of every fine detail to make your van feel the luxury that it is. The customer service from Mark was outstanding and the passion for the business from Joe was evident. We cant wait for our first adventure as Spartan campers! Cheers guys
