Dr Steve IB tutoring
Dr Steve helped me throughout the entire IB course, particularly with IAs and EE/TOK, but also in areas like history and english. He is friendly and welcoming, and also extremely knowledgeable. During sessions, he often creates discussions around singular paragraphs of your essay that will completely change your perspective of the subject. He tests your logic and rebutts your arguments without making you feel pressured to change them, which is an excellent way for you to strengthen your reasoning. Overall, I really appreciated his help and would definitely recommend for students struggling with the formulation of strong arguments.

A level Edexcel Psychology
We contacted Spire with only 2 months until my son’s first exam. He’d been struggling to grasp certain aspects of psychology and was growing increasingly anxious about his upcoming exams. We looked at other providers but as soon as my son had his introductory lesson with Angela he felt reassured and confident with her common sense, strategical approach to focusing on how best to approach the exam questions. Angela was able to offer reassurance to my son by recapping on his current knowledge, going through exam techniques and structuring of answers which supported his learning and gave him the confidence to approach his exams.
I would highly recommend Spire and particular Angela if you need that additional support and guidance.

Overall Positive Experience with Some Personal Suggestions for Improvement
The platform is very good overall and has provided me with clients and students. There are new jobs available to bid on every day, which is great.
That said, there are a few issues I have noticed:
1) Some people seem to believe that, by subscribing, they will be able to find in-person tutoring. I am not sure how this misunderstanding arises, but if in-person tutoring is not available, it might be worth making it even clearer during the application or sign-up process that the platform is exclusively for online tutoring.
2) The tutor evaluation system feels somewhat unfair. It appears to be based mainly on the average number of hours taught and does not seem to take into account student feedback or client ratings, which I believe are important indicators of tutoring quality.
3) What I find even less fair is the way bids are displayed. If I submit the first bid for a job, it seems to make little difference because tutors who have been on the platform longer and have higher scores are still shown ahead of me. At least, this is my understanding based on the FAQ. This can make it difficult for newer tutors to compete, regardless of how quickly they respond.
Apart from these points, I am satisfied with the platform and my overall experience has been positive.

Amba is an amazing tutor for LLB students - I highly reccommend
I had very useful sessions with Amba while I was a final year LLB Law student, she's been an absolute star! She's very easy to work with. She explains very clearly which makes it easier for her students to get a strong understanding of a topic and shows how to get higher grades in assignments. I've got two high 2:1s on my assignments because of Amba, she's AMAZING!!! I highly reccommend her to any LLB law students! :-)
