I would recommend spot on insurance as they keep you informed of how your claim is going. They are prompt with the payment into your account. I’ve been with them just over a year and made three claims with our elderly cat and had no trouble with them.

I can't fault spoton pet insurance
I can't fault spoton pet insurance. Olive, my pet cat was 16 years old when I took out insurance for her with spoton, just 3 or 4 years ago. The monthly premiums were very competitive with very little increase year on year.
Unfortunately Olive became ill about 18 months ago and needed medical help and medication since then.
Spot on have always been so easy to contact and always replying very quickly. The website is easy to access and use when making a claim. I have found spoton to be very fair with the claims I have made and reimbursement has been swiftly repaid to my credit card.
The service offered is extremely efficient. Olive has passed on now but spoton have always treated Olive and me with respect and kindness.
I would recommend spoton to anyone seeking pet insurance.

Spot-on has been the best provider
Spot-on has been the best provider I have ever had. Reasonable fees. Prompt payment. They don’t ramp up the policy prices if you make a claim and on the whole are really nice people to deal with

Efficient claim handling and quick payment
They were able to answer my query via email before I made a claim and the claim process was straight forward and easy to complete.Pay out was quick within 10 days so really efficient. Just disappointed that there are certain caps on things,like interpretation of a blood test which has to be carried out,so there is no way of knowing how much it will be until its done only to then find its not all covered.I acknowledge that this is clearly worded on the policy and is reflected in the annual premium.

Stay well away from spot on pet insurance
Stay well away. They are on line only, which makes it very difficult to deal with them. No phone number.
They reneged on paying for our 12 year old labradors operation, due to making ridiculous excuses.
Even our vets wrote to them stating their disgust and will not have dealings with spot on.

Prices hikes are ridiculous
I've had insurance for my cat with Spot on for 3 years. The increases in years 2-3 were rather high but I assumed this was because my cat was now 10 years old.
My cat has no health conditions and I've never made a claim. Well this year the policy went up over 25%. This is beyond ridiculous, especially as he's perfectly healthy. I've moved to another provider for better cover and 45% less than my renewal from Spot on. Price gouging loyal customers is no way to business. Even more annoying is you can't cancel online!

I was not able to locate your policy to have a look at what exactly was driving the increase.
That said, with annual vet fee inflation and your pet aging to age 10 this could indeed be correct and you could experience a similar or much higher renewal increases elsewhere in the market.
Why another providers new business price was 45% less can be for a number of reasons. With Spot On, our annual limits apply per condition and we don’t apply a percentage co-payment on claims for older pets, helping to provide more certainty over what you may need to pay if you do need to claim. We also try and keep the required prices changes as your pet ages as gradual as possible.

Spot on are great with there emails and getting back to you
There website is easy to use and set up claims and change your details
Even when our dog passed away they was kind and helpful and even send a letter of condolence about our dog passing away
The only thing i would say and i think this is the same for any pet insurence is make surs you have your pre medical conditons stated when you set up
But would recoomend espically if you have older pets

5 Stars – They truly lived up to their name
I don't often write reviews, but Spot On have genuinely earned this one.
For the past two years, Bailey, my cockapoo, has been insured with Spot On. During that time, I had complete peace of mind knowing that if anything happened, he was covered. As any dog owner knows, they're family, and having that reassurance allowed me to focus on Bailey rather than worrying about the financial side of unexpected veterinary care.
Every interaction I've had with Spot On has been straightforward, professional and compassionate. Claims were simple to submit, communication was clear, and everything was handled efficiently. They made what could have been a stressful process feel remarkably easy.
Sadly, Bailey recently passed away. Even then, Spot On continued to show the same level of care and professionalism. They contacted me with a thoughtful message of condolence, cancelled the policy without any hassle, and processed the remaining refund immediately. It wasn't just good customer service, it felt genuinely human.
Right now, I can't imagine having another dog. Bailey was my best friend and losing him has left a huge hole in my life. But I'm sure that, one day, there will be another four-legged friend. When that day comes, I won't even consider another insurer.
Spot On have earned my trust completely, and they've truly lived up to their name.
Thank you for giving me one less thing to worry about while I was caring for Bailey. It meant more than you'll ever know.
