Fantastic time swimming in the gorgeous Slovenian lakes.

The Strel team was enthusiastic and encouraging. The swimming locations were amazing. It was my first trip and I wasn’t sure I could do it but I felt safe and supported and I completed all swims!

Fantastic swim trip . The guides were amazing- so fun, kind, full of energy! Beautiful location and beautiful swims. Wish Petra could be the guide at every swim trip we will do in future ! Enjoyed the hikes a lot as well/ nice added bonus .

What a fantastic introduction to a swim holiday. Petra, Ziga and Martin were so organised from the very start, making everything clear every day … and very patient and fun, despite our repetitive questions 😂
We didn’t have to think of anything apart from enjoying our swims and walks set, in beautiful locations with stunning scenery. Even the lunches were organised at great local restaurants with delicious food.
A full-on, whistle-stop tour of Slovenia, leaving you with wanting more!!!

We had a wonderful 4 days in Slovenia that exceed all expectations. Petra, Ziga and Martin guided us through some incredible swims in stunning settings and also insured we experienced so much more with walks to beauty spots and carefully chosen restaurants. The guides took meticulous care of us and were thoughtful to our enjoyment throughout. We saw more of Slovenia and the surrounding areas than we expected and it was lovely to get the guides’ perspectives on the country as well as their help and support with the swims and logistics.

This trip offers just the right amount of swimming, hiking and adventure to get a really enjoyable experience out of an extended weekend. Slovenia is a truly beautiful country and leader in responsible tourism. Our guides, Petra, Ziga and Martin were professional, encouraging and every aspect is well thought out to give the best experience possible. It’s an ideal trip for first time swim visitors. Very addictive! I ll be back!

An excellent 3 days of swimming in an absolutely stunning country. Excellent organisation and information given at every step of the way so we felt welcomed, encouraged and safe. Petra, Ziga and Martin were the best hosts and swim guides - kind, considerate and extremely professional. They thought of everything! Plus they are genuinely nice people with a relaxed sense of humour and fun to be around. Great recommendations re local food and restaurants. We ate together as a group during the day which was so lovely and we really didn’t have to think about anything other than enjoying the swimming and the scenery. I would 100% recommend this trip 👏😁👍

The guides really made this tour great. Borut, Petra and Ziga made sure we were safe in the water, but also gave us support and encouragement to swim to the best of our abilities.

The scenery and swimming locations in the Slovenian (and Italian) lakes were just beautiful. And it was much more than just a swimming holiday - there were also walks around the swims, where our guides’ knowledge of the local history and culture helped us understand the relevance of what we were seeing along the way.

This was a jam-packed holiday and we really enjoyed it.

We’ve just returned from an incredible trip with Strel Swimming on the Kolpa River, and it exceeded all our expectations. Although the swim was only three days long, every day was fantastic, with beautiful, crystal-clear warm water to enjoy.

A huge thank you to Borut, Petra, and Peter, who looked after us so well. They were friendly, professional, and great fun, making the whole experience even more memorable.

The scenery is stunning, the logistics were seamless, and the delicious lunches organised each day certainly ensured no one went hungry.

We can’t recommend this trip highly enough—it was an unforgettable experience, and we’d happily do it again.

For anyone who is even thinking of doing one just go for it. One of the best decisions I ever made! Still living off the high of the swims, landscape, food, fun and people weeks and weeks after.

Fantastic trip swimming in three lakes and a river, led by friendly, highly experienced and knowledgeable guides Borut and Petra. The trip was well organised from the full briefing, the gentle reminders eg on timings and safety through to the great lunch spots.
I am not that experienced at swimming longer distances in open water but with encouragement and support (in particular Borut with his trusty yellow kayak to aim for!) I happily ‘kept on swimming’ in the clear, warm water, surrounded by stunning scenery.
I travelled on my own as did others in our small group (it’s a perfect solo trip), we got on very well and some of us are planning to do the Kolpa river trip together next year. Would highly recommend.

What a fantastic swim holiday in Slovenia organised by Strel. Borut, Petra and Ziga were professional , kind and always fun to be with, and importantly (when in open water) were great guides and kept us safe. They catered for us all across beautiful lakes in stunning locations , showing off the country with lakes , mountains and visits to waterfalls . I will be back! What a beautiful country.

Recent trip to swim the Kolpa River in Slovenia, beautiful river, crystal clear water. Excellent guiding , as always Borut, Petra and Peter always there if needed but otherwise in the background keeping a careful close eye on everything. Always helpful, well humoured and focussed but never in your face allowing all abilities to safely enjoy the whole experience. Useful swimming tips, analysis and guidance for those that want it. Great trip as always, sad to leave and achieved my longest swim ever with ease.

Borut and Petra organized and ran an outstanding four day swimming holiday in Slovenian lakes and rivers. The scenery was spectacular, but most importantly, Strel Swimming is a professional but fun loving outfit. They were well organized, flexible, and great ambassadors for both open water swimming and Slovenia. My experience was so positive that I’m already planning a return trip with them.

All swimming staff are friendly and accomodating. The programme is very well planned and organised. I will come back for the next swim. The swim site is stunningly beautiful, what an experience!

I had the most amazing time in Slovenia with Strel swimming! The trips and swims were spectacular- I always felt safe, and everything was so organised. Petra, Borut and Ziga were such fabulous guides.

It exceeded all my expectations, and there were other wonderful things- going back in the car train and the walk to the waterfall, etc

My 3rd Strel Swimming holiday, a wonderful week on Symi Island. Aoife, Toby & Pavlous made everything so easy for everyone, going above & beyond. Amazing swimming conditions and lunch stops at isolated beaches reached only by boat, it really was paradise. Pedi Beach Hotel was a fabulous base, extremely friendly staff. Memories that will last a lifetime.

I’ve just completed my 13th swim holiday with Strel and it more than lived up to my expectations. What you get is high class accommodation in interesting places and brilliantly organised swims, led by expert guides. What I (speaking as an 80 year old -experienced but hardly rapid,) particularly value is their willingness to accommodate swimmers of all ages and abilities. Aoife and Toby were exemplary in this regard. In addition, they went out of their way to make restaurant recommendations and organise dinners. I cannot thank them enough. All these things are down to Strel, but without exception I've also found charming and interesting company on these trips, I’m already planning my next Strel holiday.

We loved our Symi swim trek. Would highly recommend. They even catered for the non swimmers amongst us. Aoife and Toby were brilliant guides. Our boat captain Pavlos kept us safe. The people in our group were a joy to be around, we shared a memorable week together that we won’t forget. If you are thinking about it, just do it, you won’t regret it. Nic & Rob. Australia
