Not happy i don't have an account or a contract with these and these scam tried taken 3 lots of money out of my bank this morning I have got screenshot

Twice in 72 hours they've tried to take money out my account, I've had no phone haven't even spoke to a person...yet they think it's ok to take payments, had to freeze my card, no access to my money all weekend, sent multiple email but no reply! Avoid these SCAMMING SCUMBAGS!!!

After deciding not to proceed I did not submit my application and yet somehow had £17.99 taken from my bank. No contract no phone but still being charged. Raised this with customer service who said they couldn’t see the charge so I sent them screenshots and now it’s been 3 days since I heard from them - keep well clear

I would strongly advise anyone considering Sunshine Mobile to do your research and read the full terms before handing over any payment details.

The marketing gives the impression that you can get a phone despite having poor credit by simply using their SIM for “a few weeks” before upgrading to a handset.

However, the actual arrangement is considerably more complicated.

According to Sunshine Mobile's own FAQ and terms, the handset introduction period is 8 weeks. During those 8 weeks you are required to pay for the service and use the SIM as your primary number with regular account activity before the handset is provided.

Calling this “a few weeks” rather than clearly stating 8 weeks in the headline marketing feels unnecessarily vague, particularly when someone is committing financially to the service.

But the bigger issue is what happens afterwards.

The agreement is described as having a 36-month minimum term, and the handset remains Sunshine Mobile's property. In other words, you can potentially spend thousands of pounds over the course of the agreement and still not own the phone. The handset is loaned to you and ultimately has to be returned.

That is a very different proposition from what many people would understand by getting an iPhone on a normal contract or finance agreement.

I am also concerned by the similarity between Sunshine Mobile and other companies offering essentially the same bad-credit phone model, including Accepted Mobile. The terminology, business model and handset-loan arrangement are remarkably similar. I haven't seen enough evidence to claim they are literally the same legal company, so I'm not going to make that accusation, but the similarities certainly warrant further investigation.

For anyone with poor credit who is attracted by the promise of “all credit types accepted,” please don't focus only on whether you can get the phone.

Ask yourself:

• How much will I pay in total over the entire minimum term?
• What exactly am I committing to for 36 months?
• Do I actually own the phone at the end?
• What happens if I need to cancel?
• What happens if I miss a payment?
• Exactly when will the handset arrive?
• What additional charges or conditions apply?

In my opinion, the marketing makes the offer sound much simpler than the actual contractual arrangement.

I'm not claiming Sunshine Mobile is a scam, because I don't have evidence to make that accusation. But after looking closely at the terms, I personally would not enter into this type of agreement, and I would strongly recommend that anyone considering it reads the full contract rather than relying on the headline advertising.

If you're looking for an iPhone because traditional finance isn't available due to bad credit, there are other options worth investigating. Don't let the promise of “accepted regardless of credit” stop you from looking at the total cost and who actually owns the phone.

Do not use company the customer service representatives are so rude the handset and sim card are on loan you don't get to keep the sim or phone, i finished the contract and they put the phone as lost and fail to tell me to send it back i initially signed up with sunshine mobile but accepted mobile was taking the payments i think the company are under 3 different names but act like they not. I regret going with them they randomly remove your apps is well and it's so hard to get hold of them AVOID AT ALL COST

It was very easy to do the application online and I just hope I get accepted.

Terrible company. I spoke to them to cancel after 1st payment taken which they said was fine. I returned sim card. They are still taking 29.99 a week from me and wont refund me my money!! Scammers!!
