Sussex Pond Doctor Ltd Avis

I contacted Sussex Pond Doctor after they’d been recommended to me. I had tried a couple of other companies over the past few months but they charged so much money so I continued to look around.

When I contacted Doug and Sussex Pond Doctor, he was very responsive and I was quickly booked in for a deep clean and revamp of my pond.

Scarlett came a couple of days ago and has done an amazing job. When she arrived she introduced herself and explained what she was going to do. There was a lot of silt and debris to get rid of as well as a major clean and trimming back of the overgrown plants. My pond had got to the stage where I had trouble seeing my fish so I was very nervous about how many fish I’d actually got left. It turns out I hadn’t lost any and had 2 babies and a frog.

By the time Scarlett had finished, my pond looked amazing. Nice clear water, plants repositioned and some very happy fish. She was also great at answering my questions and giving me advice. Also, considering the amount of black silt and dirty water there was, I’d never have known. Scarlett left my garden immaculate and had washed down my patio as well. My dog Toby definitely approved, he loved her! I would have no hesitation in recommending this company, I’m so glad they were recommended to me. They’re a genuine company and didn’t try to oversell anything to me unlike the other companies I’d been in touch with!

Thank you Scarlett! I look forward to meeting you again, as does Toby!

What a great team of people. Old fibre glass pond removed and new larger lined pond put in. Extremely hardworking and pleasant to have around. The new pond is wonderful and I can't praise them highly enough. All experts and would recommend them for any pond work you may be considering.

Excellent customer service. They were extremely efficient, pond is now cleaned out and ready for the new season. Would recommend

This was a complex project to undertake with the removal of an old pond and installation of a state of the art large Koi pond with modern filtration. Doug and his team took this on with great precision overcoming any logistical problems with great skill. Doug has an eye for attention to detail and he will not complete a task unless it is up to his high standards. If you want an excellent result I would recommend not looking elsewhere. A very trustworthy company.

Arrived on time. Explained exactly what they were going to do.
Efficent, professional and friendly.
Did a good job of cleaning the pool, pump, filters etc.
Disposed on the sludge where we asked them too.
Left the sitge nice and tidy.

Quick response to repair my pond leak .
Scarlett is excellent with very good rapport.

What a transformation.

26 years ago I put in a couple of ponds myself. They were OK but one leaked and both were showing signs of age.
Doug gave me some options about how he would transform the ponds into one.
Doug has so much experience and knowledge. He amd his team Scarlet and Russell worked really hard during really changeable weather to dig, re-line, build up and level walls and put in better electrics and overflows and finish with coping stones.
The fish were placed in a huge holding tank and were absolutely fine.
We are really pleased with the finished article and so pleased we chose The Pond Doctor to transform our aquatics abd pond. Thank you Doug abd Team.
Highly recommended.

Brilliant service. Speedy reply to emails, very courteous and helpful. Arrived promptly on the agreed date and carried out the work quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend.

A liner repair; cleanse and plant repotting has given an enhanced visual effect to my pond, resulting in happy healthy fish. I recommend them and would use again .

I had my pond cleaned yesterday. Scarlet came and worked very hard and efficiently. Everything went perfe tly from contact to conclusion. I was very impressed and would recommend this Company

Well organised and hard working through the record breaking heatwave. I can’t praise Russell and Scarlett highly enough for their efforts and a great result with a beautifully refurbished pond.

Our 30 year old pond & waterfall was leaking & showing its age. Many punctures in the pond liner caused by a heron made it irreparable, the waterfall was giving us a lot of work & we really didn’t know what to do with it. Sussex Pond Doctor came to the rescue! Doug & Russell came up with some great ideas of how to avoid future leaks & alternatives to the waterfall which we took forward. They relined the pond which involved removing & replacing some large retaining rocks, no easy task! Work was undertaken thoroughly, professionally & respectful of property. They also gave us some useful advice on maintaining the pond going forward. We are delighted with the outcome & have no hesitation in recommending Sussex Pond Doctor.

We only have a small pond but Doug and Scarlett did a brilliant job giving this a complete overhaul, looking after the wildlife and giving us really helpful advice about how to maintain things in the future. Communication with Doug was excellent and would definitely use SPD again if needed. Would highly recommend.

These guys made what was in my head a very complex task look relatively easy!
It wasn’t easy, but the precision, knowledge and their total expertise made it appear so.
The pond was drained, the fish were very carefully handled and moved to a holding tank, filled with their own water, the pond was jet washed and a meticulous survey was undertaken of the liner.
As was suspected some damage was found and expertly mended, but that wasn’t it, upon undertaking these repairs further damage was found that could have very easily have been missed.
The pond was refilled with their own water, the fish were returned safely and the pond was prepped safely for quite a large amount of new water to be added.
The help, advice and step by step information provided to me whilst this was all being undertaken was superb.
After each piece of equipment had been used it was cleaned and removed from the area, there was no mess at all afterwards, it was like nothing had ever happened and they had never even been here, the only sign left of their attendance was that I wasn’t having to top up my pond anymore due the overnight loss of water from the damaged liner!
I cannot recommend these guys highly enough, the service provided was impeccable and all was done in a very professional, polite and courteous manner.

I am delighted with my extended wildlife pond. . Doug and Russ provided a quality service and were friendly and professional throughout. The design evolved as the project progressed with Doug having lots of good ideas to improve the landscaping and make the most of existing materials. This included building a lovely rockery with the spoil and spare rocks from the old pond. On completion the site was left clean and tidy and much to my relief , the project started and finished on time and on budget. In summary an excellent team and an beautiful finished pond and rockery. I would definitely recommend Sussex Pond Doctor.

Arrived on time and we now have a perfectly clear pond. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

We would definitely use them again if needed.

Doug came to check an old, slow pond filter that wasn’t working well, and the pond was inundated with blanket weed. He made various suggestions to remedy this and we opted for a replacement filter with an auto-clean function. The work was completed efficiently and Doug made improvements to the layout of the filter and pipe work to make it easier to hide them with plants. He communicated clearly throughout regarding the order, and made us a video of the operation of the filter so that we can refer back to this regularly. Doug also made helpful recommendations regarding the health of the pond and the balance of plant life. Doug has added us to his client list for an annual check to ensure everything is working well, which is reassuring. Very happy with the advice given and the quality of the work, I would highly recommend Sussex Pond Doctors.

Russell and Doug were professional and prompt in addition to being friendly and helpful . I would highly recommend them .

Excellent service,Russell was a star with care and knowledge of the wildlife. The pond has never looked better. I will recomend to all my friends and neighbours

I am overjoyed with my new wildlife pond! Doug and Russell spent four days transforming my old eyesore of a pond into a wildlife haven. They carefully took 40 plus newts and pond creatures out the existing pond along with the existing water and silt to help ensure the pond creatures did not feel too disturbed.

Doug designed the most beautiful pond and included stunning driftwood, a beautiful pebble beach area, a Yorkstone wall for animals to hide in and sloping edges to for easy access to amphibians etc.
It was a big investment for me and I was nervous but Doug's communication was great and the final result surpassed my expectations. The quality of the work is outstanding.

In good weather and bad the pair did an exceptional job including removing bamboo as part of their service and using some of the excavated clay to level the garden in other places.

They navigated tricky access as I have a shared drive and kept my neighbours informed and updated if they needed access to the drive.

Doug and Russell were friendly, kind and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to find expert pond restorers who really understand how to work with nature rather than sanitise it. Each time I go out there and see the new pond, a huge wave of happiness and a deep sense of calm washes over me. I cannot wait to see how the how the pond develops over the next few months.

The newts are loving their new real estate and the birds are now starting to use it too.
