Established in 2020, The Fruit Moth is the brainchild of Nicole Broad. Having bought a sewing machine in lockdown and sitting on a pile of beautiful vintage linens collected in charity shops, Nicole started designing and making accessories in her spare bedroom. Fast forward to now, The Fruit Moth has a store inside Manchester Craft & Design Centre in the heart of the Northern Quarter, has collaborated with Uniqlo to support their sustainability pledge and has won awards within the Manchester business community. Having just secured approval from Liberty London, The Fruit Moth creations are luxury pieces designed to be enjoyed and loved for a lifetime. Using only French seams and the highest quality luxurious natural fabrics, they are as comfortable as they are beautiful to wear.

I love my new hat it has made me happy…
I love my new hat it has made me so happy now that my hair has fallen out because of my chemotherapy treatment. Nicole was very helpful and this was lovely because I really need to feel pretty and feminine at this time and Nicole has enabled this.

The Fruitmoth = LEGEND!
The Fruitmoth is by far one of my favourite small, independent brands. Apart from her obvious skill at finding and matching vintage and remenant fabrics that borders on genius, the actual quality of what she creates is exquisite, her finishing is to die for! I've bought several things from her, and have to say I am never disapointed, and in particular the bespoke dress she designed for me is something I will cherish forever. The amount of time Nicole was happy to put into conversations with me about the design and the fabrics was amazing, and like me she was happy to wait until the perfect fabric combo presented itself. I'm thrilled to say I am now the estatic owner of a dress that is simply one of a kind, and it was worth every penny, and I'll be a fan of The Fruitmoth for the rest of my days.

Giving new life to fabric!
I recently bought a bespoke collar and two pussy bows from Nicole and I am absolutely in love with them all. All three pieces are unique, beautifully made and gorgeous to look at and incredible to wear. I honestly can't recommend Nicole @fruitmoth highly enough!

Dreamy sun hat
I adore my new hat, Nicole is a genius. Not only does she repurpose vintage fabrics she is such a talented maker and I could not be happier. I will definitely buy more from her and have my eye out for some vintage fabric for her to craft something for me.

Poppy the reversible rain hat
Nicole, from The Fruitmoth is an absolute star. My red/checked rain hat was handmade for me in a day! The hat was made to measure, which is fantastic because currently I have little too no hair due to chemotherapy; therefore many ordinary hats are just too big. So a huge thanks for my lovely hat, can’t wait to try it out. 😊
