The quality of the furniture was superb. The staff were friendly and helpful. Delivery was 2 weeks in advance of estimated date. The delivery was efficient, again the staff were really helpful

Within an hour of delivery we realised…
Within an hour of delivery we realised that the pouffe delivered was too large for our room. We contacted Place for Homes immediately and spoke to the manager who informed us that as the pouffe had been made in a colour from the swatch shown that it had now became BESPOKE and there would no refund or credit note, as I hadn’t read the terms and condition on the back of the sales receipt. So to any customers thinking of any purchase from Place for Homes please read the back of the sales receipt before signing it. I realise that not everyone reads the small print, but as I would like to point out the manager had very little sympathy with this unfortunate outcome.

We always aim to be as transparent as possible, and we do highlight in both our documentation and in-store conversations that any item made to order, such as your footstool, which was created in your chosen fabric and colour, is classified as bespoke. Under UK consumer law, bespoke items are exempt from standard return policies, as they have been made specifically to a customer’s requirements. This is also why your order carried a longer lead time of 16 weeks.
We understand that it’s disappointing when something doesn’t work out as expected, and we're genuinely sorry you felt the service lacked empathy, this is never our intention.

Exchanged purchase
Salesman was very attentive and helpful. Three piece suite ordered, delivered in expected time frame.
Unfortunately the suite was not suitable as it looked much too big in our living room. On visiting the store, the Manager was very helpful and eventually agreed to an exchange for another sofa and two chairs. The only downside was, the re-stocking charge for the existing suite, was £800 which seems quite excessive. Nevertheless, we have now ordered something more suitable.

We are disappointed that you feel the restocking charge was excessive as this is below the industry average of 25% of the purchase price and contractually not something we are obliged to offer. Additionally, we believe that this would be significantly lower than the loss you may have incurred if you had attempted to sell the goods on privately.
Your original order of a La Z Boy suite was special ordered for you from La-Z-Boy in the colour and combination you requested. In the case of your order there were no reclining items which is unusual for a La z Boy.
We understand that sometimes mistakes can be made and therefore always endeavour to help resolve the situation, hence the offer to restock the items for you.
As you know the goods were in your home for a week and whilst we appreciate that you did not use them and kept them covered, in order to sell those goods we will need to offer a customer a significant reduction in the value of the goods. This is to incentivise them to buy your returned items and not purchase brand new goods in exactly the colour and specification they wish. Additionally the demand for non-reclining La Z Boy items is low which means the demand for your returned items is likely to be lower.
We do not generally offer to restock items as returned goods are very very difficult to sell on and prevent us from putting new models that can be ordered in the colour and combination into our showroom. I am sure you can understand this is very costly.
Once again we are sorry that you found this charge excessive and hope that you will be pleased with your newly selected items.

Came to the place for home a few weeks ago to look for a new wardrobe, sales team were brilliant with helping me choose the perfect one to fit my home. Delivery came today and the boys on the van were brilliant and assembled it in no time. Definitely would recommend
