I purchased a Tom Schneider Layla tv…

I purchased a Tom Schneider Layla tv stand from John Lewis. From initial looks it looked fine given the cost. When I came to dust the tv stand I found a lump on the side under the bottom shelf. This was notified to John Lewis who went back to Tom Schneider who requested images. Even though I repeatedly said you can not really see the extent of the defect the manufacturer said it was within tolerance. You can actually see the lump 4 meters away. Tom Schneider is refusing to do anything as it’s in a place where you can not see the lump even though I have said I can see the lump 4 meters away. They are refusing to have the issue inspected and relying purely on pictures which do not show the full extent of the issue I am reporting. I would stay away from this corrupt business as they are pure ignorant and not willing to rectify issues. Their email reply to myself was full of condescending language and unprofessional.
Example language from email
John Lewis initially told us this was damaged on delivery. We asked why it was not reported for 2 months. They responded that they had it confused and it was only noticed My goodness, 4 metres away, I wish my eyesight that good.
This next paragraph is my reply to Tom Schneider feedback/reply below:

I don’t normally go blow for blow but what Tom has said only shows what type of man he is.
Pasting in extracts from my email and changing them to suit can only be described as being aggressive. When I contacted JL which was on the 16th August not 22nd August they came back saying they could not get a replacement but an alternative which I said did not want. Really, I should have requested a refund as the TV unit is just fake and not real wood and very expensive considering the craftsmen ship gone into the product. I have to say Tom was very defensive and very unhelpful and putting blockers where he could. I had to take images and when sent to him all he said was they were not taken from the requested distance. I am not sure where he got the 3mm size of lump from which turned out to be a foreign object protruding from the veneer, so all I can say is he got the report as that would only be the place this would have been mention and certainly never came from me. This is the report from the independent company who JL requested before any compensation or replacement would take place and was told by JL it would be sent to the manufacturer and Tom Schneider.

In reply to Tom S second reply. I have never had issues like this from any supplier or outlet. This now proves how defensive Tom S is by replying to my comments for a further time. Very unprofessional and if this continues I will be reporting this as it is pure slander.

In reply to your further comments. I have not and would never change the wording of someone else’s email. That is simply untrue I simply pasted what was written.

I'm replying to your review now because it has only just come to my attention.I'm sorry you're unhappy with my company. For fairness, I want to share the following information for a fuller picture. Unfortunately, I can't include images here, which I believe would help.Regarding the 3mm bump on the underside of the unit, its position means it would only be in a line of sight at 4 metres away from a seated position. On June 21, 2024, we delivered your Layla Media Unit 125 cm Oak. On August 22, 2024, you contacted John Lewis (who you bought the item from) to complain of "a lump on the underside of the unit" which you hadn't noticed before as it wasn't visible until you were cleaning. On August 22, 2024, I wrote to you to apologise that you had an issue with your furniture and asked for some more information. On August 22, 2024, I spoke at length with you on the phone. I made it clear that you could simply ask for a replacement by contacting John Lewis. You made it clear you did not want a replacement and that you were discussing compensation with them.On January 18, 2025, I received an email from you stating: "As I have had no response whatsoever I have to conclude you have to be the most ignorant individual I have ever come across. I will endeavour to make sure the wider population get to know what type of business you are. I would have placed my feedback on your business website for others to see but since my purchase did come directly from you am unable to do that. I presume you make it as difficult as you can as you don’t like true bad feedback. Your so false!!!!!!!"On January 19, 2025, I replied:"I'm sorry that I did not respond to the last email you sent 22/12, I have just found it, for some reason it did not show up in my inbox and went to my spam folder.I do not believe that you and I have ever discussed any report? I have never received a report from you or anyone else. Perhaps this report was discussed and sent to John Lewis directly? All reviews on our website are genuine.I do not believe that I have been rude or sarcastic to you. I am very sorry that you feel that I have been.If you had bought the unit from myself I would happily collect it for a refund. As you bought it from John lewis I simply cannot do this. What course of action is it that you would like from me?"On January 19, 2025, you responded:"Hi TomYou are correct in saying we never discussed any report and I never said that either. I was told the report would be going back to yourself with a copy to the manufacturer. I found some of your language inappropriate in the emails and I should not have to point that out to you. If you’re a business man you should really review what you say.I am sorry about the email I sent the other day. It’s up to you given what I have said above what you think should be appropriate."On January 22, 2025, I replied:"Hi MartinSorry for the delay in reply, I just got back late last night as I was on annual leave.I'm so sorry that you found some of my language inappropriate in the emails. Please accept it was not intended and that I have taken your comments on board. I have, so far, not been able to get a copy of this report but if you can obtain it from John Lewis I would appreciate a copy. Contractually I am unable to authorise a replacement because you did not buy directly from us. So in the interests of moving forward, if you feel it is appropriate, I think the best thing would be for you to ask John lewis for a replacement or compensation. Please feel free to come back to me with any questions or further comments."
