I've been a member at this gym on and off for 20 years, the facilities are great. The classes are varied and there are lots of them. I particularly like it because there are lots of yoga and Pilates based classes. We have fantastic instructors, including Marcus, Michelle, Claire, Sophia, Francoise, Hailey, Paul, Nicola and others. Ranging from beautiful stretching classes to stronger challenging masculine classes that Marcus offers.

I Absolutely love this gym, the classes and instructors are amazing, it’s such great value for money considering it has a pool, spa area and huge variety of classes that are on all throughout the day, Roisin, George and the team are always helpful, friendly and on hand to help with any problems, The new cafe team are also great, I have recommended this gym to many friends and family members. It has a lovely community feel which a lot of large gyms don’t have. Keep up the good work!

Price has gone up, yet gym constantly can't offer what it advertises. No pool, no steam room, no jacuzzi, no showers! The place is hanging by a thread. A real shame.

Tried to go back but was informed that nothing had changed so it may not be the right thing to do. So i have not joinec again .soz for me. Because i liked it there. It semms that the childish things have not been sorted out.

The place is completely run down – worn equipment, tired facilities, and an overall neglected feel that makes it hard to believe they charge membership fees at all. The so-called “classes” are only 30 minutes long, which feels more like a warm-up than an actual workout, yet they’re marketed as if they offer real value.

The biggest issue, however, is the gym manager. Shockingly unprofessional and clearly out of their depth, they seem to have no clue how to run a gym or deal with members. Questions go unanswered, concerns are brushed off, and there’s zero leadership or accountability.

If you’re looking for a gym that’s well-maintained, offers proper classes, and is managed by someone competent, this is not the place. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Trugym huddersfield The standard of this gym has hone so downhill and yet the membership has gone up...
The pool is constantly cold, shut , dirty or has flies hitting you in the face while swimming.
The sauna cieling is peeling and bodged with plaster which the old plaster is left on the floor at side of seating.
The flies are a ongoing issue which are even in your clothes as they are in the lockers.
The boiler is constantly breaking down which affects the pool, Heating and showers.
The manager is never around to raise issues but when he is his answer is to leave if you are not happy
The classes are good and there is a good atmosphere

There are hundreds of little flies around the pool, jacuzzi, in the showers and changing rooms. It's disgusting, been like that for few weeks, nobody seems to care!

Absolutely ridiculous that a Monthly subscription can be cancelled the exact DAY you call to cancel the next months. i.e month runs from 10-10th of each month and if you call to cancel on the 2nd of the month, the membership ends then and there.

no customer service at all, just parroting rules at me even though the eastern european lady at Chatham Gym was aware that this was a ridiculous rule and admitted that even sending an 'official' email would do nothing but be read by the same lady I was on the phone with already.

This gum is a nightmare every time you go swimming the water is freezing and always an excuse boiler is beening fixed been going on for months now and it’s absolutely disgusting they need to get this sorted out everyone is complaining but nothing gets done

Good equipment, good atmosphere and great facilities

TruGym Ipswich is honestly a great place to train and relax. The gym is equipped with completely new machines and weights, and everything is well-maintained and clean. The changing rooms are also very tidy, which is something I always appreciate.

Of course, like any popular gym, during peak hours it can get a bit crowded and sometimes things get messy-but that’s mostly due to the number of people, not poor management.

One of the biggest highlights for me is the pool area. They have a large, comfortable swimming pool where you can really unwind after a workout. The Jacuzzi is fantastic-hot, relaxing, and perfect for tired muscles-and the steam room is one of the best I’ve used. It's great having all of that in one place.

The gym has a great vibe overall, and the people are friendly and respectful. The group classes are run by super positive instructors who bring great energy and humor, while also making sure you’re doing exercises correctly and safely.

If I had to mention a downside, it’s that sometimes people sit on machines using their phones, taking up space-which can be frustrating-but that’s something you’ll find in most gyms these days.

Honestly, I don’t understand the negative reviews I see online. Most of them seem to come from people who didn’t read the membership terms and conditions properly and are upset about unexpected charges. My advice? Read the contract and understand your rights - everything is clearly written there.
All in all, I highly recommend TruGym Ipswich. Whether you're there to push hard or just to relax, it offers everything you need in one place.

Absolutely disgusting thieves! Received an email in December saying my son's student membership was cancelled and that I needed to do nothing as my direct debit would be automatically cancelled. My son joined another gym and left Tru Gym. Found out this week they have continued to collect £32 per month (it was £30 before they cancelled it) and when we contacted them they said the email was an error and they had changed DD provider - WE DID NOT RECEIVE THIS EMAIL. So they are refusing to refund me £160. How many other people have they done this to? Absolute robbery!!!!

Having been a member of Trugym Gateshead for many years now, I have seen a lot of managers and good instructors come and go, and if I honest have thought about cancelling my membership a few times. However, I am so pleased I didn’t, Sam the new manager is like a breath of fresh air, she has turned the place round in a short space of time. Loved her classes when she worked there a few years ago, but There are now new different challenging classes, a better yoga environment, and even a sauna. Her enthusiasm is palpable , she makes you want to push yourself, I also enjoy Paul’s spin class, Graz hybrid and rig fit classes. There are many other varied classes to suit all levels of fitness. There seems to be lots of machines too, but I prefer the classes. The other members are supportive and encouraging. If you’re looking for a relaxed non judgmental good gym then I would definitely recommend Trugym Gateshead.

I’ve been a member of the gym since the day it opened & it really is a nice place with very friendly members.
There are some great instructors Leighton, Paul & Lucy are all excellent, re-employing Sam Myers as manager & class instructor is a genius move.
I had forgotten how amazing she is, such a dynamic & engaging personality. Her classes are so energetic, full of fun as well as being a really hard workout!
She is a breath of fresh air & has brought back a huge injection of enthusiasm & motivation, it’s just what the gym needed again.
For anyone considering joining the gym it is very good value for money & now that Sam is back it’s a very positive & motivational space to train in.
