Turnitin is not accurate. A section of my document was marked as generated by AI, yet it was my own ideas and words. Considering the time, effort and dedication I put in to ensure that my work was submitted correctly and accurately, it feels extremely frustrating and unfair that you are marked down and judged for something that you did not do.

This is the tool used by lazy teachers to check off their rubric requirements because they are either underpaid or don't care to read through the words properly or stupid institutional requirements to check off their no cheating clause

But anyone with reasonable and smart brain can easily bypass this filter with new methods to dodge their detection hence its pointless to rely on it or even think its genuine

As student and teacher this tool judges harshly for similar worded ideas or jargons which is bound to happen for common student tasks but that's not what I care about

This AI rating even rates new information not discovered before in history as already submitted at that point its fake no amount of their explanations can explain it

As teacher you're better off with AI LLM detectors because that's what majority of the students will be using anyway instead of wasting time and money on this overhyped cheating detecting platform

If I could give this a zero, I would. It says that I've used 98% AI the first time I put my essay in, then 81% the next time. It is so inaccurate, ESPECIALLY given that I haven't even touched AI for my entire essay! I put my essay into all of the AI checkers it supposedly "double checked" with, and of course is they ALL said 0%. The worst part is that my school uses this shit!! The only consistent thing about this AI checker is its inconsistencies. VERY DISSAPOINTED WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! (btw put this review I just wrote now and it said 92% AI WTF!)

I hate TurnItIn! Every time I do an assessment it gives me a similarity score of over 40%... for small sentences, single words, etc. Like how is the word May plagiarism? I had to write an essay using 8 studies, so of course many of my sentences are going to be similar, because there is no other way to write formally enough and have it be different!

How can I start this.... Turnitin has ruined my life. This platform is absolutely useless. I have done my projects BY HAND and all of them with a 90% of plagiarism. A complete shame. Of course, the uni won-t care about this and they will still use this absolute shame of platform, because their algoritms work really really bad. I'm ashamed of using a platform as poor as Turniting is. Such a shame that they use this for such serious things.

I'm a nursing major, and ALL of the medical terms, specifically how the body works, are all flagged literally. I just wrote a paper on how HIV affects the body and you can only describe the transit route in so many different terms.

I failed my class because I quoted the question, the title of 2 articles about AI we had critically reviewed and the wrote the articles authors. I then wrote my own conclusion about AI and how I feel about it, but Turnitin highlighted a paragraph of it. I was told I had copied other peoples work, and now I'm deemed a failure. I'm being asked to leave my class. Why? What have I done wrong? It's not fair we are called cheaters and are being labelled as this by our "teacher" because apparently we copied the article's title and authors name when that is not the case. This is so frustrating and hurtful.

Terrible website. my college uses this to turn in assignment and it kept putting a random font on my assignment. i tried everything to get it away but i was unsuccessful so i submitted it hoping it would go away. i checked the assignment on turnitin and all my words were overlapping making them unreadable making me fail.

turn it in is complete slop, delete this trash site, logged in 30 times and im still not able to use the site

If I could give zero stars, I would. My school district pays over $10,000 for this product, yet the number of technical issues we've encountered is unacceptable. Twice in the past month, Turnitin has deleted all of our students and teachers (1,900 students) along with their submitted papers—an inexcusable failure.

From an administrative perspective, Turnitin is riddled with glitches, significantly overpriced, and provides poor customer support. The "Chat Now" help feature is unreliable, and there is no clear way to escalate issues to a manager. Our Turnitin representative is nearly unresponsive, making it incredibly frustrating to get assistance when we need it.

Additionally, Turnitin has acquired most plagiarism checkers on the market, making it difficult to find a viable alternative. Given our experience, we will be moving to a different platform next year. I strongly advise others to consider alternative solutions before committing to this service.

SCAMMERS ! They bribe you to pay for their service to check essay and then they write High Risk when in reality 10% they use quotations from the texts to mark as plagirism . Stay away

I am writing to express my disappointment with the support I received from a representative named Dy. Unfortunately, the attitude and approach to solving my issue were unsatisfactory and unprofessional. The provided solution did not address the problem effectively, which has left me frustrated.

Well, i'll start by saying that its not a great app, and if i could give this a one star and the creator of this wretched 'tool' a kick in the face, i would. Im a student in my first year of college who is trying to get decent grades on my essays, but it seems that Turnitin, the system my school uses to 'detect' AI, is quite rigged. I just got an email today by my professor that i was flagged for one of my essays, and i was suprised because i dont recall ever even using AI to write something down. I take my school work pretty seriously and would never even be stupid enough to think about using AI. Anyway, i had to rewrite and resubmit my work, but this didnt go without trying to understand why such a incorrect mistake had occurred. i searched through the conditions in which Turnitin and other AI 'detector' websites commonly use as a rubric and--guess what--its all unreliable. If you have perfect grammar or use a grammar tool, it flags you; if you use common words used by AI, it flags you; If you have no personal writing style, it flags you; if you maintain the same tone eluequently, it flags you. Look how stupid those are. A student can have any one of those aspects and can get flagged for unethical usage. This could ruin a students college life and career life. TURNITIN is a huge problem. In fact, i believe it's a bigger threat than students using AI. If it doesn't guarantee accuracy, why is this website still taken seriously!!!

From my experience so far, the better you learn to write the more the system is going to flag you and increase your writing score as A.I. written. Stop trying to learn anything. That's what it wants. Great program.

I submitted my daughter's assignment to her professor. However, the professor emailed her stating that the assignment was in the wrong format and gave her a score of 10/100. I encouraged her to email him and ask for the opportunity to resubmit the assignment in the correct format. Unfortunately, the professor responded by refusing to regrade the assignment or consider a resubmission. A week later, my daughter received a letter from the Dean stating that the professor had reported her for academic violation. He accused her of using AI to write her paper, despite previously stating that the paper was in the wrong format and that he would not regrade it. Additionally, he accused her of plagiarizing, which was my error. It's confusing as to why he reported an assignment that was not intended for grading. I used a website to analyze some writing exercises, including emails from the professor, and most of the incorrect samples, including the professor's email, were flagged with 96% or above AI-generated information. According to the report, my daughter's paper was 55% AI-generated. My daughter uses Grammarly, which is offered by her school. Now I have to take the time to prove that she did not cheat..

It is a very unreliable source for the school and teachers to compare with other students' work. This
Turnitin system compares words and phrases that are common in everyday language. Also, even take into consideration as plagiarism the title of the assignment and references. I do not know why academic teaching uses it as a reference to look for plagiarism when it is very unreliable.
