AVOID UNITED VAN LINES AT ALL COSTS – Deliberate Tampering, Privacy Violation & Massive Destruction!
This was the worst moving experience imaginable and feels like outright sabotage. United Van Lines crew intentionally and recklessly tampered with my personally sealed boxes – they cut them open, inserted heavy items like boxes and chairs at the bottom, then resealed them poorly. This caused catastrophic crushing and damage: over 16 garment boxes completely ruined, my wood credenza smashed (slate top shattered), leather bench badly scuffed, and virtually every item in the shipment damaged in some way.
This wasn’t accidental rough handling – it was purposeful interference with sealed personal property, violating my privacy and trust. They had no right to open or tamper with my sealed boxes. This conduct appears to breach federal transportation regulations and criminal mischief under New Jersey law for – purposely or recklessly damaging/tampering with another’s property.
The financial and emotional toll has been enormous – thousands in ruined clothing, furniture, and irreplaceable items. Their claims process? A joke – $150 on an almost $20K loss doesn’t come close to covering the destruction they caused.
Do NOT use United Van Lines. They destroy belongings, invade privacy, and leave customers devastated.

United contracted with Planes Moving…

United contracted with Planes Moving Company. This was our fourth international move and the worst by far. Planes forgot about our container in storage and then charged us for their delay in getting to the container to the port. Final charges were 120% MORE THAN QUOTED! Complete lack of customer service. No response to emails or calls.

I relocated to Canada from the US in…

I relocated to Canada from the US in February, put my household goods into storage with them for a few weeks to find a new permanent residence, then took delivery. It was a completely smooth process including going through the border and dealing with Customs. The movers scratched my parquet floor slightly, and United immediately took responsibility for repair. They had their provider set up and at my home within a couple of days! I'm writing to recommend United/Mayflower for the outstanding customer service, start to finish! They far exceeded my expectations. My household goods all arrived, with no damage, and the one aspect identified for repair was addressed positively, immediately! You can't expect more than this. Well done, United! Thank you.

Avoid this moving company at all costs

Avoid this moving company at all costs. All around a nightmare experience. They showed up late. The customer service was straight out of KGB Eastern Bloc style something. They took no care of my mom's inventory (furniture, lamps, household goods, etc) and ended up destroying or damaging over 5k usd of her stuff during the interstate move. And they offered a 40 usd refund after I documented it all and took hours detailing it. Absolutely do not allow this company to touch your move from home to new home.

United van is simply the best moving…

United van is simply the best moving company ever. Two gentlemen showed up on time and finished the work in a timely manner. Strongly recommend. Plus, their wrapping the package department is savage and i had my best time with them as they were so humorous and funny. We had lunch together and it such a swift move.

Transparent and effective!

Working with this company was easy and honest. Can't recommend them enough! I spoke with several moving companies and went far into the process before being given the full picture of costs involved. All companies seem to end up with a similar price but United Van Lines was transparent about them from the start and very responsive. I had already been close to the end of booking another mover when they made it clear they could not move my things by the end of one month and arrive after the first of the next month. at the last minute i was able to book through Scott for the perfect dates and within my budget. It cost approximately 4,000 dollars to move an apartment of stuff including extra charges for shuttles on each side to accommodate tight outdoor locations and everything arrived in working condition (including a 65 inch tv). I really could not have asked for a better experience start to finish with Scott (admin) and my moving crew on both ends. Thank you!!

Asked for me information and told go elsewhere

Submitted for an online quote and heard back from Joani Jones associated with them via Armstrong Relocation Company a United Van Lines company.

She asked me specific questions about my move. I answered with a short list of items and weights.

I got an immediate response letting me know to search elsewhere to get my questions answered and a quote.

She received my contact information through the quote process and I responded to her questions to get a quote. This was bizarre. My only assumption is that she felt this wasn’t worth her time since it was ten large items cross-country. That’s fine, forward the request or provide that information. But to tell me to redo the process I already did to get a quote is extremely messed up.

United Van Lines is the WORST movers I…

United Van Lines is the WORST movers I have ever used...and I have used many movers previously.

They did so much damage...they are reckless movers. They use freelance subcontractors and there is no one overseeing the movers...it is basically a free for all!

AND...if you try to claim anything, as far as damages they make it so difficult and make it your problem...not sure why they charge you for insurance when they make it impossible to make it a claim.....STAY AWAY FROM UNITED VAN LINES

If you like what you own use someone else.

I had United Van Lines contracted for a move from my homestead Texas to Georgia. My belongings were put into storage while I looked for a home in Ga. When the day came for delivery of my things none of the items that were in my barn in Texas arrived. I was also missing a few items from inside of the house. And my wife heirloom baby grand piano and antique rocking horse were damaged. In total there was about $10,000 in missing/damaged items. When I filed the claim for these items they issued me a check for less than $500... Less than 5% of what they lost/damaged.

Unprofessional, not trustworthy

Where to begin ? Estimator on first visit was ver professional, thorough, but thats where it stops. Driver / Team Leader could not be trusted. He marked most of our high value items as DAMAGED on packing date. Problem was they were NOT damaged. He seemed to want to protect himself if the items WERE damaged in transit. The description of items on packing was not brought to our attention, thus we did not catch the high value items that were not described correctly. This caused problems with high value items that WERE damaged in transit.

Documentation is poor. Customer gets 4th or 5th copy which is illegible

Delivery crew inexperienced, sloppy, unprofessional. Seemingly these were temporary employees who were poorly trained. One clogged a toilet at our new condo and said nothing about it. Disgusting !

I have moved 12 times in my life, and United is the worst

I have moved 12 times in my life, and United through Mesa Moving and Storage my worst experience ever. Their customer service was insensitive, and arrogant. They lost items in transit, and did permanent damage to some of our items. While they were able to repair some items, the items they were unable to repair should have been paid for through insurance. Instead they gave us a measly $575, where they should have provided nearly $5000 for the items that they lost and count not repair. The United insurance department could not have cared less, and did all they could to properly compensate us, even when I offered a settlement of less than half of what we were owed.

I would not recommend United Van lines to anyone, as they are careless, and do all they can to avoid reimbursing you for damaged or lost items. They will also do all that they can to refute bad reviews, but I can assure you that my experience was quite distasteful and sad.

I Ican only you about my recent move with United

I can only tell you about my recent experience with United. I had a few furniture pieces damaged which they did repair. Problem came with a nearly new vacuum which they agreed to repair. Their driver, who was in chargh kept telling me the repair shop was waiting for parts, but then told me that I had purposely given them "a piece of junk" that could not be repaired and I was just trying to get more cash from them. Stay away is my advice

PLEASE Read!!

PLEASE, do NOT sign a contract with United Van Lines (UVL), or any of their Agents, to avoid the

horrific experience my family has endured.
We moved from the Los Angeles area, to the Las Vegas area.
We decided on United Van Lines (UVL) based on the presentation made stating the services they
would perform and the insurance coverage they offered.
We paid for a insurance policy stating: “YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE FULL VALUE
PROTECTION. Our records show that you have chosen the FULL VALUE PROTECTION option
and that you have agreed that our liability to you for loss and damages will be to repair or replace
those goods, up to a maximum of $125,900.00 with $0.00 deductible.”
UVL crews packed the household goods on September 9, 2020. The household goods were
loaded on a UVL/Golden Eagle Moving Van on September 10, 2020. The furniture and belongings were
unloaded at the Las Vegas address, by UVL crews, on September 15, 2020.
After the unloading and our inspection during the unpacking, we found damaged and destroyed
items totaling an estimated $15,000.00. After notifying UVL and requesting an inspector to review and
inspect the damages, UVL asked us to send pictures of the damaged and destroyed furniture, which we
promptly sent to UVL. UVL NEVER sent anyone to inspect the damages. We located and hired a
Claims Inspector in the area, to document and verify all damages and destroyed furniture pieces. The
inspection report and estimates to repair and replace the damaged items, were sent to UVL Claims Team,
for their convenience, to resolve the damage claims. After seven (7) months of numerous e-mails and
telephone calls to UVL, we received a settlement check in the amount of $1,397.99 to reportedly settle
our damage claim. UVL's offer to settle the claim is about 9% of the total loss incurred.
We strongly suggest that everyone AVOID UNITED VAN LINES for any moving services.
United Van Lines is in “Breach of Contract” and legal remedies must now be considered.
