Up Learn is the UK's leading A Level and GCSE platform, helping students achieve top grades through expert teaching, personalised learning, and 24/7 AI and human tutor support.
Our courses cover A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Economics and Psychology, as well as GCSE Combined Science, with exam-board specific content for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International. Behind every lesson is a team of subject specialists, learning scientists, and educators obsessed with one thing: making top grades a reality for every student.
Our platform adapts in real time to each individual - identifying gaps, guiding revision, and building the exam technique needed to reach A/A* at A Level and grade 8 or above at GCSE. The results back it up: 97% of students who complete an A Level course go on to achieve A* or A.
We believe every student deserves access to outstanding education, which is why for every course purchased, we give a free course to a student who needs it. We've provided over 50,000 Up Learn Scholarships across the UK so far.
Students and families often tell us they value how supported they feel, from the quality of teaching to the responsiveness of our team, from first login to results day.
We genuinely welcome honest feedback. Reviews help us celebrate our students' results, and fuel our mission to give every learner the most effective path to success.

A*A secured!
I used UpLearn for Biology and Chemistry. I got A* (Biology) & A (Chemistry). UpLearn is unique in the fact there is active recall quizzes, in-depth Chemistry videos (the Biology course is built to be concise and streamline!) and one-to-one tutor support whenever they are avaliable. It can easily supplement a teacher; my Chemistry teacher was not present during the majority of Year 13 and we had an misplaced teacher who had not taught A-level Chemistry before & was not accustom to the content. UpLearn helped me overcome this barrier through private study. I do wish that UpLearn could perhaps trial a system wherein their lesson plans are built for & directly used in classrooms - it would allow for standardised teaching, particularly in schools where there is long-term cover or teachers need assistance. Ultimately, I believe that would be beneficial for schools that use UpLearn as a service and it can be marketed directly at schools.

Hi Sabbir,
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! 💚 And huge congratulations on your A* in Biology and A in Chemistry - what an achievement! 🎉
It’s brilliant to hear that Up Learn was able to give you the structure and support you needed. We’re especially pleased that the combination of active recall, in-depth content and tutor support helped you feel confident studying independently.
Your suggestion around using Up Learn more directly in classrooms is great to hear too, and exactly the kind of feedback we love hearing from students who’ve experienced the platform first-hand.
We're so thrilled to have been part of your learning journey, and wish you all the best in your next steps! 🚀

Phenomenal resource
Phenomenal resource not just while at secondary or 6th form but also for self taught students who may not have the neccassary finances for a personal tutor. This platform enabled me to secure all the grades needed in order to achieve my aspirations. It is hard work and does require some time to complete the courses to their fullest but that is just a testament to the level of detail and interactivity that this platform provides you.

Confidence it built
Uplearn has helped me boost my confidence and love for subjects that I honestly thought I hated until now. Uplearn taught me that GSCE exams only come up once in your lifetime and this opportunity can not be wasted- ultimately the hard work you put in is the outcome you'll receive. Uplearn is a more virtual interactive way to help you with your studies.

Lessons dwell on a single idea for too…
Lessons dwell on a single idea for too long over a series of lessons. Not an effective use of your time. Provides questions on a surface, basic level, not mimicing what it would be like in the exam. Would especially not recommed for students like myself doing alevels. My teachers also believe that it cannot garuntee A/A* and more like Cs.

We haven't been able to locate an account with the details provided here, so please get in touch with our team via live chat or at team@uplearn.co.uk so we can look into this further for you. We'd really appreciate the chance to speak with you and get this resolved!
Hundreds of our A Level students achieve A*s and As each year, so your feedback surprised us a little. Our lessons are designed to cover each topic in depth to build genuine understanding, and our exam papers and practice questions are written by subject experts to align closely with the curriculum - ensuring you receive plenty of exam-style practice. If you'd prefer to move through the course more quickly, you can adjust the video playback speed at any time, and taking advantage of section quizzes and pre-video quizzes to tick off content will speed up your progress significantly.
Our support team would love to help you get the most out of the platform and work towards the grade you're aiming for - so please do reach out when you can 🙏

Service bought was not accessible. The content we thought we could access was not accessible. Very polite customer service but nobody wants to take the plunge and help. Very frustrating and not as friendly to use as it has been sold to us. We will stay clear of any further work with this company as it seems to take money very quickly but not want to sort any problems once you bought the useless package !!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback 🙏
We've been in touch with you privately and would love the chance to understand this better, as the account was active and being used throughout the period and your child had shared positive feedback with us previously.
Also we can’t see any access issues being raised with us during this time so we’d really like to understand more here. We'd always encourage customers to contact our customer service team as soon as any issues arise, so we can resolve them quickly.
We were glad to go beyond our usual terms and issue a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill, as this was a mutually agreed resolution at the time.
Please reach out to us at your earliest convenience so we can find a positive outcome for everyone 😊

HANDS DOWN THE BEST WEBSITE FOR PSYCHOLOGY!!!
My original teacher left straight after the January Year 12 mocks, my second teacher left just before the June mocks, and I currently have a trainee teacher. Without this website, I genuinely don’t think I would have been able to keep up and maintain my A* grade throughout the year. A-level Economics
A-level Economics: Great app for learning the content as the videos make topics easy to understand.
However, the AI marking is terrible and it doesn't bother to attempt to mark graphs when you get a question on drawing them. Way too expensive too.

Hi Toby,
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're really glad to hear our videos have made A Level Economics content easy to understand! 💚
The issues with AI marking, especially on graph-based questions, aren't the experience we want you to have. This isn’t feedback we’ve heard regularly so we’d really appreciate the opportunity to investigate this for you.
Please email us at team@uplearn.co.uk or drop us a message in the chat channel so we can look into it. Feedback like yours plays a big part in making Up Learn even better.
Looking forward hearing from you and wishing you every success in Economics ⭐

Good, but not worth the price
I had an Uplearn scholarship via the Sutton Trust programme, and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay hundreds of pounds for it.
Uplearn is.. fine? All for the OCR A spec, the biology videos are great, chemistry is okay, but physics is a complete knockoff. The entire course is just videos from physicsonline (which are available for significantly cheaper via his website). Uplearn absolutely does not add hundreds of pounds of value to those videos.
Uplearn has also become frustratingly AI-centered recently, which detaches from the experience of, say a Youtube video, where you can tell that a human was responsible for every step along the way. (edit: this was only furthered by my email correspondence with the uplearn team, which had the phrasing of AI.)
And, of course, the fundamental part of revision will always be past papers, which are available for free from any half-decent revision website.
Is Uplearn a good revision tool? Yes absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt. Would I recommend it over the dozens of other free/ significantly cheaper options? No, completely not.

Hi Jay,
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback - it's appreciated 🙏
We're really pleased to hear that Biology and Chemistry are going well and that you've found Up Learn to be a great revision tool overall. That means a lot!
Our OCR Physics course does use partnered content, but the partnered videos make up only around 10% of the course. The rest is all Up Learn, including thousands of mastery quizzes, worked examples, our own lessons where needed, and OCR A-specific exam papers you won't find elsewhere. That said, we're working on replacing the partnered videos with our own in-house version - since all our material is built by real humans, this takes time to do properly, but it's well underway.
More broadly, all our course content is human-made by our team of subject experts. AI only plays a supporting role (like our chatbot and speeding up marking), and a human team member is always available when you'd like one. Our practice papers are also exclusive to Up Learn, written by our own examiners.
Thanks so much for getting back to us and chatting through your feedback - we really appreciate it and look forward to continuing the conversation ⭐
