Up Learn is the UK's leading A Level and GCSE platform, helping students achieve top grades through expert teaching, personalised learning, and 24/7 AI and human tutor support.
Our courses cover A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Economics and Psychology, as well as GCSE Combined Science, with exam-board specific content for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International. Behind every lesson is a team of subject specialists, learning scientists, and educators obsessed with one thing: making top grades a reality for every student.
Our platform adapts in real time to each individual - identifying gaps, guiding revision, and building the exam technique needed to reach A/A* at A Level and grade 8 or above at GCSE. The results back it up: 97% of students who complete an A Level course go on to achieve A* or A.
We believe every student deserves access to outstanding education, which is why for every course purchased, we give a free course to a student who needs it. We've provided over 50,000 Up Learn Scholarships across the UK so far.
Students and families often tell us they value how supported they feel, from the quality of teaching to the responsiveness of our team, from first login to results day.
We genuinely welcome honest feedback. Reviews help us celebrate our students' results, and fuel our mission to give every learner the most effective path to success.
Our money back guarantee
A/A* or 8-8
We know what students are capable of when they have the right support. That's why we don't just promise progress - we guarantee top grades.
If you complete our course and don't achieve at least an A at A Level, or 8-8 at GCSE, we'll give you your money back.

The best money I have spent on Education so far
I almost solely used UpLearn for Physics and Maths A-Levels and I'm very glad I put my eggs in this basket (the money back guarantee definitely drew me in - although, because of how confident I felt, I think I only achieved around 88% so wouldn't have been eligible). I'm in my 30s and have decided to change my career to one which will need these A-Levels for higher education and I can't recommend UpLearn more as a learning platform.
It's been a long time since I was in Secondary School and I wasn't sure how I would take to subject based learning again. The UpLearn platform is so easy to use for anyone and took the hard work of understanding a specification away, all of the content of the subjects was at my fingertips and I could be confident nothing would be missed.
The videos are really well put together and interesting (a medal for the people that do your art and animation), the pop-quizzes keep you engaged and the structure and pace each of the subjects as a whole builds your knowledge step-by-step so you're not disheartened too early on with more complex aspects.
Physics (AQA) - Unbelievably comprehensive! I'm not someone who finds Physics intuitive. The UpLearn platform breaks down complex topics over a number of videos and although parts of Physics can be wordy the platform is still able to test knowledge on these aspects. I remember working really hard in School at GCSE and achieving a B. Using UpLearn and past papers I achieved an A* at A-Level.
Mathematics (Edexcel) - Seriously impressed! With Physics I had some understanding of some of the topics due to my interests, with Maths I was starting from scratch. The UpLearn platform took me from no understanding of a surd to 4 marks away from an A* at A-Level in the space of 1 year.
I wish I had UpLearn when I was at School, it's a cheat code to good grades. To any mature students, parents of students or anyone interested in achieving good grades at A-Level just do it.
Edit: Customer Support has been prompt and empathetic with every request I made. Hats off to them.
Also, I really wish you did Further Mathematics.

Best revision resource
Amazing website, the videos are funny and took my physics grade from a D to a B, even better I received a full refund for my course as I didn't get the A and took less than 5 minutes to do. Wish I bought one for maths as well. I couldn't recommend it anymore. The best resource out there.

Saved my Maths A-Level grade!
Saved my Maths A-Level grade!! I really struggled with A-Level maths despite doing well at GCSE. The topics felt far more complicated and I always felt like i was catching up. Found Uplearn through their youtube adverts and was skeptical at first however I was proved completely wrong. Genuinely an amazing website, easy to navigate, videos, and quizzes. Even the smaller topics teachers tend to skip over that sometimes come up in exams were covered. By the time my exams rolled around I felt very sure of myself and managed to get the grade I needed for university. Thank you Uplearn!!

Incredible learning platform! I find the content formatted and described clearly. The videos are humorous and informative. UpLearn is something I would recommend to anyone who is academically motivated but struggles to attend school, doesn't get on with their teachers or just needs some extra help. Unnecessary updates and specificity
In itself, UpLearn does seem to sometimes work well and depending on the topic is a really useful learning resource. The idea is great and there’s good foundations. However, it’s so annoying there’s a few flaws in the foundations meaning the system can often be irritating and sometimes even display incorrect information.
Often, the questions can be very specific beyond the specification meaning you constantly need to be on the ball for the entire duration, which realistically is impossible. Sections are longer than they need to be and information isn’t always bundled correctly. Questions can also sometimes be either over specific or under specific meaning they are often beyond the specification or what you’d be asked to do in the exam, or not very representative. For example, using synonyms included in the exam mark scheme as acceptable are not allowed. The ‘Report a problem’ button sometimes works but the responses are often lacklustre as no extra information is provided.
However, the recent update has meant my progress has been essentially eliminated as the new % scoring system is erratic and doesn’t improve the score properly, meaning you’d have to spend hours to complete the course. It was an unnecessary upgrade and poorly executed, making my work over the past year gone.
Moreover, for Psychology, UpLearn misses out on half the topics you need and just send you elsewhere, meaning it can’t be fully relied upon and is disappointing for the price you pay. Despite them gradually adding more, the Biology course is also half empty and only contains flash card style quizzes for some topics which you can easily access for free elsewhere.
Finally, there’s issues with the accuracy of information, with lots of answers being wrong and simply not being corrected upon reporting an error. It’s even left some teachers confused how they can get some so wrong.
It’s not terrible - but there’s plenty to improve on. It’s terrible value for the platform at the moment though.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback 🙏 We’re delighted to hear that you’ve found Up Learn helpful in your studies.
Our courses are carefully structured to group topics in a way that best supports learning, and our Content team designs questions to reflect the full range of difficulty and styles in the specification.
If you ever come across a question or piece of content that feels unclear or inaccurate, we’d be very grateful if you could let us know by emailing team@uplearn.co.uk - please do also send along those examples you have mentioned here. This will allow us to review it and make any necessary improvements 🔍 You can also use the ‘Report a problem’ button within the course so we can continue refining your learning experience.
Our tutors are always on hand to help - you can start a live chat with them at any time if you’d like further explanation or context on a question. They’ll be happy to walk you through it step-by-step.
We’ve recently updated our score percentages to make it easier to see how many questions you’ve answered correctly and to help you improve through Strengthening. This feature focuses on the questions you answered incorrectly so you can target your revision effectively. If your progress hasn’t updated as expected, please reach out via live chat so we can look into this for you.
Regarding course coverage, our Psychology course offers a variety of Paper 3 optional topics, but we let our students and schools before they start that we do not provide full content for every optional topic. You can read some more about that in the ‘What does the A level Psychology course cover?’ article in our help centre.
Our Biology course is designed to complement your school learning, with in-depth video lessons for the topics where full explanations are most valuable, and the rest covered through summaries and exam practice questions. If you’re still unsure about any points after going through the content, our tutors can clarify them for you.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. It’s really important in helping us continue to improve the experience for all our learners.
Best wishes,
The Up Learn Team

Great tool but guarantee is not upheld
I used this course to help me improve in Economics and it was a great course. The only thing is that their 'A/A*' guarantee is not upheld. Uplearn states that if you don't get an A or A* then they will refund you. Not true. Like anything with a money-back guarantee, you will never get your money back. I did all of the lessons (several times) and did all of the exams and tests (which never save honestly and would lag and cut out). I ended up with a B in Economics and contacted Uplearn to be told that I had not completed the course even though I had. Apparently the problem was that I had not completed all the written tests - Untrue. Their system is so laggy and it is honestly probably built to cut out enough times that you give up with rewriting the same answer ten times so that they can say that the course was not completed, rendering you unable to receive a refund. It was a great course but if you're expecting to get your money back if you get anything below an A, you're kidding yourself.

Hi Lois,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really glad to hear that you found the Economics course helpful during your A Levels in 2021 🙌
Our A*/A Guarantee applies when students complete the full course, by reaching a 90% Up Score and completing exam paper practice to demonstrate their exam readiness. I’m afraid that final step wasn’t completed, which meant we were not able to process a refund.
That said, our guarantee is a promise we take very seriously, and we continue to refund every student each year who meets the criteria and doesn’t achieve an A or A*.
We didn’t receive any reports of technical issues from you at the time, but if you’d be happy to share more details with us, we’d really like to understand exactly what happened. Please reach out to team@uplearn.co.uk 🙏
As your experience was back in 2021, we want to let you know that since then, we’ve made many improvements to the platform, all inspired by feedback from students like you.
We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us and hope that life has been going really well since your time with Up Learn. If there’s anything we can do to continue to support you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How Up Learn Was a Hero to Me
Up Learn was a huge motivation to help me do well on my A Levels. I like how, on the multi-select questions, it can still mean that there is one correct answer. It helps me think more before answering those questions, rather than assuming that there are at least two correct answers. Plus, I like how there are questions in the middle of the video. It gets me involved. The fact that there are no ads makes it useful. The "strengthen" section is excellent. The only conern is that I found it time-consuming to do the subsections, but the earlier I start, the better. The subsection diagnostic quizzes certainly help speed me up. I refused to speed the video up because it reduces my learning ability. I love Up Learn. It is the best website I've used in my life. In fact, it is my favourite website. I cannot wait until it is available for GCSE students. It is better than Educake or Seneca, in my opinion. Even though I haven't managed to reach 90% on either of my three subjects, I still think I did extremely well. I would like it if I have the opportunity to work in the Up Learn team to apply my IT skills. Thanks to the staff at Woodkirk Academy who paid for my membership. Thank you for reading!

SCAM - doesn't cover all the content
If you do A-Level Biology don't trust the content! I bought Up Learn and it didn't go into the necessary depth required for the exam! Both secondary succession and knowing how to do statistical tests were assessed! I know I've lost 10 marks due to these questions. Don't believe those adverts!

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Our Biology course is designed to complement your school studies - helping to reinforce classroom learning and support optimal revision. Our ‘What’s in the A Level Biology Course’ Help Centre article and the ‘Introduction to the Biology course’ video explain how to use the course most effectively.
The course follows the specification closely, and we regularly review and update the course in line with new developments. Secondary succession isn’t included in the specification, which is why it isn’t covered in depth in the course. However, our content team is reviewing this in light of recent exam papers to see if any changes are needed.
While we couldn’t locate an account matching your review, we are very sorry to hear that you found a number of marks connected to this topic, and we’d really value the chance to better understand your experience. Please reach out via our live chat or at team@uplearn.co.uk 🙏
