I had a lock that quit working after I changed the batteries, so I contacted support. They were slow getting back to me and eventually they quit communicating with me.

Next, I bought another lock as a replacement and bought the wrong model. Customer service has been slow getting back to me

The Detex EAX 2500 C conversion kit is supposed to replace the EA 2500 F older F model as per tech support at Detex . The new model is square as compared to the slimmer width of the F model so the wall had to widened as this is recessed. The 12 pin connector is also not the same so you have to identify the incoming power wires and the wires to the door magnetic then clip them off and insert into new wiring connector. On top of this , the old F style uses a different cylinder lock so I had to go to a locksmith to buy a mortise lock for $30. After all this was done , the alarm would not arm because the latch did not fully depress the switch button so I had to bend the delicate latch switch over as per tech support so it would contact the latch switch and finally work . Should be a simple same sized conversion with same wiring connector as this is considered a “conversion” but ended up taking all day. Poorly thought out.

I received the closer in two days and got it on the job where now I can invoice the customer...Thanks, made my day!
