Vaultek Safe Avis 6 300

I'm glad I decided to purchase this safe; it works well for my specific needs but I feel that it may not be right for many people.

The good:
The biometric reader seems to work very well for me. I had read reviews that complained about consistency and I have not observed that problem. The safe stores enough fingerprints you can just double-triple the same finger with different locations for reliable access.

The safe is lightweight enough to be installed solo, but still sturdy and secure

I like the VISN app for real time status monitoring + access/impact/humidity alerts

The OK:
The keypad only has digits 1~8. I don't really understand what reasoning was behind the decision to omit digits 0 and 9 from a full size safe

Push notifications from safe alerts are nice but can't reliably give real-time notifications (I assume network traffic plays a part in this). Notifications will be received within seconds at times, but up to 20-minute delay

The not-so-good:

It's very cramped for a full size safe -- shelves on the back will block any door-mounted options at the same height. Same with any large optics on rifles. It's tall enough but really ought to be 15-20% larger in width + depth. That would make it less claustrophobic but still be light enough for self-install. I have the same concerns with their slider-safe: bought one to mount on the side of my nightstand but the edge catches on the iron-sights of my compact if I'm not slow and careful on the draw... Not what you want for quick-access and it's clear that a red-dot is fully incompatible. The slider wouldn't need to be any taller or wider, just extend out an extra ~2 inches

The door locks fine but isn't sealed well, I would caution anyone worried about long term storage in a high-humidity region. It's an electronic safe but there's no outlet available inside for plug-in moisture management

Lastly, it's quite $$$. If they could make it larger at the same price point, I'd have bumped up this review to 4*

Great rifle case, a little on the heavy side when loaded but it does have sturdy wheels .im happy with my purchase

I purchased 2 safes
1. Vaultek MRē
2. Vaultek Barikade
For the MRē I thought I was purchasing a biometric version based on the photos of the listing, when I received the safe it was standard keypad without biometrics, so I investigated and realized that yes the photos show both biometric version and the standard "essential" version so on my end I just didn't read the description very well which states it's not biometric. With that being said I'm not unhappy because the safe is very well built and to set up your personal pass code is fairly simple!
As for my Barikade purchase it's compact and has biometric scanner that works fantastic for quick access! It's slightly more difficult to program pass codes verses the MRē but still simple enough!
My Barikade houses valuables and I removed the shelf out of the MRē so I could place the Barikade safe inside of it for added security!! And my less valuables just rest on top of my Barikade within the MRē safe. I definitely achieved my plans and purpose buying these 2 safes and would highly recommend if you need something very clean and simple yet sturdy and tough. Also in person it's very appealing to the eye. When you hold it in your hands you know it's money well spent. Very fast shipping as well which also pleased me! I'm a first time buyer and with a little research and review reading I came upon doing business with "Vaultek Safes" So minus the fact I didn't read the description on the MRē well enough thinking I was getting the biometric version I still give this company 5 Stars for overall excellent business. I would say that the photos on the MRē "essential" listing should be of the "essential" model only and not have pictures of the biometric version within them. And the same for all listings of safes in case someone makes the same mistake I did. Thankyou Vaultek for these amazing safes I do not regret my purchase one bit!

Love my DS5I station and then the charging ports stopped working and they sent me a new one in exchange for my current one right way! Fast and nice customer service

Originally bought another name brand that was just a lock, thought it would be OK, but at night time it was difficult to see the key with no lighting, and took a minute to get everything organized… So we upgraded to the biometric and code entry with light, and what a difference! So much easier and faster! Thank you so much

My wife bought me the DS2I for some special occasion, too be honest not sure if it was a birthday, xmas or what it was but I loved it! Im also not sure how long ago it was but ive had it for a minute or two for sure. When i got it i placed it beside my bed and placed my Sig M-18 in and confidently slept every night knowing my family was safe in the fact i could protect them and access to my firearm was immediate! Then one day my unit stopped working. I called the company and left a message and my call was returned pretty promptly. I told them of my dilemma and that i wasn't sure how long i had the unit and wasn’t sure if i had registered it. The lady on the phone told me not to worry and that we would get it figured out. She not only found my purchase information but also emailed the information so that i could get it registered to be able to return it for service. Now im not sure if it was still under warranty but they not only sent me a return label ( which alot of companies wont do even if the product is under warranty ) but fixed it and returned it at 0 cost to me! This is not only a great product but excellent customer service! Thank you very much for being a great company to do business with!!!!!

Valutek is great. Their customer service is not sourced out to another country. I was having an issue hooking up my Nano key to the safe. The customer service was excellent. He walked me through the setup process. We figured out the issue and he shipped the replacement part that day. 5-star customer service

Recently purchase LifePod x. Smaller size is perfect for carrying every day essentials. Awesome, like the other Vaultek products I own (LifePod & base station). Shipping was fast and package arrive in good condition.

It’s better than described. I bolted it down to my floor in my bedroom. And holds everything I need. It’s totally state of the art.

Had some electrical issues with my Bluetooth DS5i. Emailed their Warranty department & they sent me out a newer WiFi enabled VISN model for free! They even sent a return label, prepaid for the old one so I didn’t have to pay to ship it back.
Awesome Customer Service!

I currently own two safes from Vaultek, a LifePod 2.0 and a Barikade series 2. I started having some problems with my Barikade after a year of frequent use. Morgan and the customer support team provided exemplary service. I will buy from Vaultek again for honoring their warranty and for their quick response to my inquiries.

Early this year I bought a safe to have on my bedroom dresser I purchased the Valtek Bluetooth DS5i, it has everything I needed, clock, dual charging pad and four additional usb ports in case I need to charge a few more things. Unfortunately, the charging usb ports and half of the charging pad stop working but the safe itself is still working keeping my firearm secure. I contacted Vaultek support and they try to help me get my safe working like it used to, but unfortunately everything that we tried didn't work so they gave me two options repair the one I currently have or replace it with one of their new ViSN models and to my surprise they have a newer model with the same features as my current one so I chose to replace it and they are also shipping me a return label for my current safe. This is one of the few companies that really goes out of their way to back their products and for that reason I am looking to them to purchase two more safes, and my friends are impressed by what I experienced that now they are looking at Vaultek safes themselves.
