During my tenure as the President of Empower Toastmasters, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Volunteer To The World (VTTW) on an Impact Day at HDF Mercy Baan Suan Farm.

VTTW professionally coordinated every aspect of the experience—from travel and scheduling to workshop preparation—enabling our members of the club, who were the facilitators and mentors, to focus fully on the children.

My key takeaway was that communication transcends language. Despite the language differences, even our non-Thai mentors helped the Thai students develop their confidence and public-speaking skills. Seeing the children deliver their own short speeches was a meaningful and rewarding outcome.

I appreciate VTTW’s thoughtful, structured approach and would confidently recommend its Impact Days to organizations and individuals seeking a purposeful volunteering experience.

On April 4th, 2026, I joined Empower Toastmasters Club Volunteer Day for a group public speaking session that was co-organised by Volunteer to the World and Empower Toastmasters Club.

The volunteering took place at HDF Baan Suan Mercy, one of the homes of HDF Mercy Centre, a community-based organisation in Thailand that focuses on protecting the wellness of children in urgent need of essential care and education.

At HDF Baan Suan Mercy, we met with Father Joseph H. Maier, a co-founder of HDF Mercy Centre, and Khun Yod Chalermrat Preecha, Director of Mercy Homes department, who welcomed our team of eleven, plus their family, to the Mercy Home.

Before a group public speaking session in the afternoon, a young gentleman named Muud, who grew up at Mercy Home, took us on a tour around the facility, showing us the vegetable garden and chicken house, which are all taken care of by the children who live at Mercy Home.

After the tour, we had lunch. Then we were ready for a group public speaking session led by Jacquie from Volunteer to the World and distinguished speakers from Empower Toastmasters Club.

In a group session, the children learned about vocal projection, body language, and other foundational practices of public speaking. Once everyone had some practice, the children learned how to introduce themselves, some in Thai and others in English.

I was astonished by how children can learn in a supportive environment that the team provided, and how enduring the children were despite the lesson taking place in an open-air space at the height of the summer season.

At the end of the session, some of the children volunteered to speak in front of the group of thirty or more people. They were brilliant. They completely aced the challenge. Their speech delivery was constructive and concise. They were proud of themselves, and we were proud of them.

I had a great experience volunteering at the group public speaking session for Empower Toastmasters Club and Volunteer to the World at HDF Baan Suan Mercy. Thank you very much.

Volunteer to the world is doing a great job around the world, I explored Nepal with them on an Impact trip and loved every bit of it, the whole experience was so refreshing and unique from the monotonous travel, volunteering at different schools while exploring a new country made the whole trip so memorable ♥️

It’s really nice to experience the impact the organization is having in Uganda and Kenya, beyond traveling and experiencing wildlife, people’s life’s are being impacted both the locals and international

Being a Social Work student, having no any full hands on experience yet but having willingness to be the part of creating change, VTTW and its these kinds of workshops are really really informative & helpful to us to grab the upcoming volunteering opportunities….
I have not been the part of VTTW yet, but have always been following its works & impacts….
But I am recently having little difficulties in time management as I am handling both studies & job….. But now, I am looking for upcoming flexible opportunities to engage in… ani aajako workshop, it was literally very very informative & impactful for a very beginning person like me…… 😊

This organisation helps to understand around the world. Building together, connecting people to grow together. Sharing knowledge and experience, and vocational training just wow.

I recently attended the Social Meetup organized by Volunteer to the World, and it was such an inspiring experience. People from all backgrounds and age groups came together with amazing energy and enthusiasm to talk about social change and community impact.

The event was beautifully organized by Kaushal Joshi, and it created a great space to meet like-minded people who truly care about making a difference. It also reminded me of the importance of community and the role each of us can play in creating positive change. Organizations like Volunteer to the World provide an incredible platform for people like us to step up, take initiative, and find real opportunities to give back.

I’m really grateful for this opportunity, it reminded me that small efforts can lead to big change, and I’m excited to keep exploring ways to give back through volunteering.

I did attend the social meetup session and also the volunteer info session where we gather and exchange our experience. It was great knowing them. I think the platform the program has provided is excellent. A very nice place to excel and grow.

I had my first volunteering trip with Volunteer to the World in Kenya three months ago. It was such a meaningful experience! I faced a few small challenges at first, but everything turned out fun, enjoyable, and truly unforgettable. 🌍✨
