The game this company plays is to charge you $1 for a phone number, and in the fine print you have 10 days to cancel their membership (that you didn't want) or they charge you $19.99 + tax. Then they tell you they can cancel the membership you didn't want in the first place but the $19.99 + tax is non-refundable. So that phone number i needed ended up costing $22.25. And on numerous posts they advertize Free phone numbers as well. They are a shameful business!

I simply wanted a reverse phone number look up. Trying to see if a friends old phone number might still belong to him. I selected the clearly written option "reverse phone look up". It then, of course, shows me a blurred name and gives me a blue button and clearly says "pay one time fee to reveal the identity." I paid 13.99, they charged me and did not give me the info. Instead they told me I had to pay, again, this time 5.99 to be a premium member. I had to call and get refund. I feel sorry for the elderly nearly computer illiterate that trusted "white pages" only to be ripped off. I wonder how many people never got their money back? People that create systems like this are garbage.

Whitepages.com should not use the "white pages" or "whitepages" term that was meant for telephone directories, because this website is not a telephone directory. Perhaps if your individual information has been unchanged for a solid 10 or 20 years it might appear on this site, otherwise it is either not going to be there at all, or not going to be accurate. It is a so-called people search engine with various levels of payment (and various levels of success when locating information) I used it during its trial period, and just in case something went wrong with that also, I pretty much opened up a bank account ... and closed it. As I was at the time looking for work, found a job, and that was the only payroll from that job. Whitepages.com does not seem to mind, because I continue to get messages from them saying there is new & updated [ type of information ] from [ person ] ... This should not be, unless they added already known information, and took their time adding it. The purpose of the messages seems to reactivate my account at whitepages.com ... I do not believe that whitepages.com is worth any of my time, money, nor energy ... and their trial run should be easier to stop. The term white pages needs to be reserved for dedicated telephone directories with two choices: 1. name, address, and telephone numbers published, or 2. pay to delete. ... with those systems nobody needs to attempt a reverse lookup. Unfortunately, whitepages.com is not.

I have been using the White Pages for almost a decade and am so incredibly disappointed by how the entire website has evolved into a blatant money scam. It has gotten so abusive and fraudulent that I have decided to start taking screen shots to document the consumer monetary abuses and illegalities and once fully documented I will be filing formal legal Complaints with federal and state regulatory authorities.

This dishonest hoax of a website offers a 5 day free trial for 1 dollar and right after you start the free trial they charge you 19.99 for the monthly premium service they are a shameful company ripping hardworking people off by lying to them and stealing from them we should start a class action lawsuit to get back what they have stolen if interested contact me

My information was found by a stalker. My full address, phone number, full name, and relatives was listed for anyone to look up. This person came into my house. This person contacted my relatives. Why would you put everyone's personal information out in public for any and everyone to look up. This should be illegal.

I dont like the idea of them scraping my information and waving it around for a cost (or just flat out selling it), sound like stalkers.

They upgrade you but remove basic features. 30 dollars to 105, then want 115! the customer service rep argued with me for 30 minutes never offering a solution. I canceled and demanded a refund for the upgrade difference and he refused only offering me partial. horrible company.

I already paid them, and whenever I try to look anything up, they send me to a page asking for more money. It is impossible to use what I paid them for!! DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES!!!

I cannot get them to remove ridiculous information and they said you cannot remove it or correct it. The third party the use for the information over the actual person. I am dealing with identity theft and it seems they are keeping my data where the contact information is going to someone else

I paid $11.99 to get a reverse lookup and background in formation. the only information I received was the general area of the area code which I can look up. I was then solicited for more money to get more information. I would never use this service again. you got me once.

Impossible to cancel this worthless service online. Company charged me $19.99 for a service I had already canceled and claimed it did not have a record of my cancelation. STAY AWAY!

No one speaks clean English, app malfunctions

They charged me $35.99 just to see my results, i never got my results! i was looking up who is behind a phone number, & the fact that they charged me money to see my results is ABSURD! stay away from this website/page! don't trust them

I never gave permission for my information to be public, and it must be taken down.

They give you “updates” on “criminal” activity. The update I received on a case in Q2 of 2026 was from 2012 for a case I was following…

Telling me that there was an update from 14 years ago is deceptive/false advertising designed to get $19.99 from me. Terrible that they are this hard up for money at the expense of ruining reputation

I paid $20 for a background report and it had LITERALLY and I mean literally no information on it except for an old address. I cannot believe that they think this is ok . I am so furious right now . I requested a refund but we will see if I get it .

Well they charge you $10.00 per month which of course is a hidden charge and you dont get anything from it! I would not recommend this company to anyone! I demand my money back for two months!

Last update on the number I searched: almost a year ago. Thats the way now folks, sell a product that u dont maintain, expect masses of cash for doing not even the bare minimum. Legal scaming

I am sorry to see so many negative reviews here because I had a great experience with Whitepages. I had been searching for my Aunt and Cousin for decades and was able to gain access to their contact info - including finding out about another cousin I didn't know about! I am ecstatic to now be in touch. Also, when I initially purchased the records I accidentally paid for the service 3 times, and Whitepages gave me a refund withing 2 minutes of me requesting it. I would use this service again for sure.
