Terrible service
Terrible service, avoid if you want a website or email provider.
Site is not kept up. Poorly supported.
The site is only good for looking up who owns a domain. Access to your account is intermittent and the site is poorly coded and put together. Link loops are common sending you into a spiraling tornado or chasing your tail trying to login or contact customer service.
I was recommended by a outdated friend…
I was recommended by a outdated friend and paid for a domain name , but never had the access , I chat with a tech support, they promised a refund but never did , I dispute the transaction with my bank , do not do business with them
refund for the unused service was denied
Ordered a SSL certificate and paid for it. Their system had trouble and could not generate the SSL certificate.
The service could not be used. Requested the refund for it. But they denied the refund. They should improve stability of their system.
Usless Support + Damaging our Reputation
We got a domain locked out because of false, unfounded reports. We collaborated with the relevant authorhies and almost 2 weeks in we did not hear anything. No proof of the accusations which brought our domain to be suspended and WHOIS still wants to keep our domain suspended.
This is harming us very baddly in terms of domain potential, search engine visibility and potential income.
WHOIS seems to prefer to entertain corrupt systems, scams and most probably also corrupt authotiries.
We reached out to WHOIS support and abuse team and all they do is play around sending over and over the same email with unclear instructions and broken links.
Stay away from WHOIS - we're moving all our domains to another registrar following this mishap!
UPDATE:
We tried to reach out to WHOIS support again and:
- the agent started talking about another domain (he confused everything)
- the agent soon after we pointed that out decied to end the chat
What a S service
Manipula os preços
Domain Front Running / Price gouging
This website does Domain Front Running. This is Price gouging. They take your searches and abuse them to increase price of a previously $2 domain to $400. (within 60 seconds) Absolutely disgusting practice.
15 years+ with Whois.com - Highly Recommended
I'm Richard P an individual customer. I have been a customer of Whois.com for about 15 years. There is a reason for that: because in my view the service is almost always excellent. The staff seem to try their best to help with any issues and usually anything is resolved quickly. The platform is good and I trust Whois.com to store and manage my vast domains portfolio. The pricing is reasonable and in line with any other hosting company. I have never had any problems with websites being down or interrupted by any server or technical issues. I hope this firm stays in business and continues as it is because it is stable, safe, well managed and trustworthy.

Very bad do not use!
Very bad do not use. bad customer service, non professional behavior.
Worst place to check your Domain!!!!
Worst place to check your Domain!!!!
I brought the domain almost 3 years ago and got it for the life time!!!! And they say i have to renew it every year, although I haven't paid any signle penny after owning a Domain.
SCAM
Be aware of this website, and do not search your ideal domains in the search bar, they STOLE my domain few hours after it was available on their search bar.
They also claim to have the cheapest hosting, but after checkout you realise that the price is almost 3 times higher. It’s totally scam.
prefered whois service.
Dangerous and Scam
This site is leaked many peoples domain data, you must pay for a very expensive price for hiding your prifacy and data.

I am a professional engineer…
I am a professional engineer transferring and developing and a wp site and chose whois.com to host it. I have read some of the negative reviews here and this has not been my experience at all. The customer service is top notch and they have fixed every issue I have had while migrating and getting my new site up and operational. IMO, whois is a professional company with highly skilled and responsive support. I would highly recommend this hosting service.
If you are tempted by the prices
If you are tempted by the prices. DON'T. If you are tempted at all ... DON'T. A more confusing and useless registrar and host is hard to imagine, with problems from the start. Until you clear a bunch of technical hurdles (the DNS name page setup is a riot!), your site pops up as a link to multiple "associated" types of URLs (hardly), bought and paid for by the click, no doubt. The CPanel says there are no redirects associated with the URL which is a bald face lie. As is most of their BS. Half the time I picked a link on their site, I got "site is down or otherwise unavailable". This is the worst kind of scamming on a trusted name (WHOIS). I regret purchasing a perfectly good URL and now having to go through many hoops to transfer the registrar back to a more expensive, but trustworthy and USABLE company.
Where do I start
Where do I start? They have great prices on domain names. Too good to be true, actually. I purchased a domain name for one year. I didn't use it for the for the first year. I finally got my website put together on Squarespace and wanted to transfer the domain name to them. It's been a real confusing struggle. I'm not that tech savvy and attributed the difficulty to my lack of experience. At this point, I am still trying to figure it out. But the real problem started when they sent me an email after just 6 months that said I needed to renew the domain name. Whenever I tried to contact them about it, I would get an Error message, something went wrong. Afraid of losing my domain name, which is my business name, I went to renew it, even though I could see that it didn't expire for another 6 months. There was one domain in my account on their renewal page with a box to check. When I checked the box I was directed to their payment options page to update my debit card and when I was finished, I was prompted to "renew now" so I clicked that button and was greeted with " congratulations on the purchase of" a similar domain name, but with one letter added. I contacted them immediately ( by way of the only option, which was an email contact page ). They responded two days later that they didn't give refunds, period. So now I have one domain name I'll never use and one that was current anyway. They are definitely scammers. It seems a lot of sites I use, lead generators like Angie's list, Home advisor, Thumbtack, are finding ways to trick a person out of more money. Even Microsoft with their Office 365 pay monthly, only version available to me now after buying the program 20 years ago. I would urge everyone to find alternatives to these programs so as not to encourage their hijacking thievery.
Scam behavior
Scam behavior
They register your domain searches and once available after few hours they lock it as sold and increase price dramatically. Stay away
I would give it zero stars if it was…
I would give it zero stars if it was possible. They such! no customer servie phone number. Chat is in some other part of the world and it takes all day to get things done. I hate them.
