Great company this

So I’ve been with Wicked for 3 years now, they do exactly what they say very well, email you when you need reminding , are on the end of the phone when you need to speak to someone, yes that’s right NO chat bot, no virtual rubbish.. real living, educated and enthusiastic human beings.. good people doing what they do well, and extremely competitive pricing.

No refund after 4 days of policy!

I am writing to express my deep disappointment following my recent telephone call regarding my policy. I have been a loyal customer for several years, but I am now left feeling very dissatisfied with the level of service provided.

I recently discovered that I am unable to book a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) for several weeks, which has caused significant inconvenience. In addition, I was informed that transferring the policy to my partner’s name—despite him only having had the policy for four days—was not possible. Furthermore, I was advised that there would be no refund, no cooling-off period, and no opportunity for policy adjustments.

I find this situation completely unacceptable, particularly given that this was a genuine mistake on my part regarding the expiry of my CBT. As this is a new policy, I had hoped for more understanding and flexibility in resolving this issue.

I kindly request that this matter be escalated to your management team for review. This is the first time I have experienced such a poor level of customer service, and I hope that a fair and reasonable solution can be reached.

We have checked with the relevant team and we can confirm that your case has been escalated to the manager in full and you will receive a formal final response letter in regard to all points from the manager. The reason for the enforced cancellation however is that although a genuine mistake, which we do not doubt, you cannot legally ride without a valid CBT. Although frustrating, we are unable to knowingly leave an insurance policy live that is invalid.

Scammers

Completely scam this company, Don't ever buy anything from them, they charged me 96£ as upfront and then another 90£ for cancelling my policy just because I haven't sent additional documents, I did another cheaper insurance that's why I didn't reply, ok my fault but there's no point charging 180£ in total for uncover policy.

Thank you for contacting us. The documentation requested as part of the insurers checks are to ensure the information provided was correct. As these were not received in the given time frames the policy had to be cancelled which you were given notice of. The reason for the cancellation charges are as follows; you had over 2 weeks on cover, in which time the insurers would have been liable in the event of any fire or theft as well as any damages to a third party that may have occurred during that period. As your broker, we are also charged for setting up a new policy. These charges include but are not limited to validation checks, administrative charges as well as charges from the aggregator used to take out the policy. All charges are laid out and explained in our Terms of Business which you are required to read and agree to prior to purchasing a policy.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! What an absolute disgrace, offering cheap insurance on price comparrison sites and days after looking to charge the earth for removing someone from the policy (2 days after) and hiking up the preimum with fees upon fees. Having then told them to cancel within the 14 day cooling off period they then try to rip me off almost £80!
An absolute joke - avoid these clowns!

Absolutely shocking!

Absolutely shocking!! Did not use the policy as newly purchased bike overheated after 10 minutes of riding, so I returned for a refund. This was a Saturday. Called to cancel on Monday and was charged £70!!!! They claimed that as I rode the bike, they would charge me for 2 days of insurance (one was a Sunday when I could not contact them) DO NOT USE, EVER

We have investigated your case, and we had referred the matter to the underwriters who confirmed as the insurance had started and as you had ridden the bike under the insurance policy then we would have to treat this as a cancellation. Please could you also note that, had the bike been stolen or an accident occurred, the insurer would have been liable for the claim.

In terms of the cancellation fees, as a broker, we incur several charges related to setting up a policy. These can include but are not limited to, acquisition costs/aggregator charges, validation checks and administrative costs which is why there was a fee for cancelling your insurance policy. The cancellation fees are laid out in the Terms of Business and policy booklet which you are asked to agree to prior to purchasing a policy.

We also provided you with an email address, which could have been used to contact us out of hours.

Whilst we understand you are not happy with the outcome, we hope this at least provides some explanation.

Carried out on line quote re 2021 Honda…following on from my initial quote I’m delighted to say that WickedQuotes reviewed my case and agreed that they made a mistake, they have now reimbursed me .

Carried out on line quote re 2021 Honda Africa twin comprehensive cover for £106 £26 cheaper than competition tried to purchase on line could not so phoned them and spoke to a very helpful lady who confirmed all I had quoted including SP30 speeding fine.paid for policy,received correspondence via e mail I was delighted. Included was a letter to submit National insurance no, image of my license and DVLI code to enable them to confirm my license. Next day received phone all message to say to ring them as my SP30 was not listed on proposal,due to this they wanted an extra £129 due to this SP30 I said I’m not paying that so their rep called Abdul said it would reimburse me £64.73 as there was a administrative fee as previous motorcyclists have said AVOID these people you will lose money like me and others I will be writing to Motorcycle News advising of my and other peoples experience,

CANCELLATION

Wicked Quotes are SCAMMERS. Accepted my insurance quote and took my money, but then requested all sorts of documentation but then rejected the docs saying they were in the wrong 'format '.. I only have a phone, no computer so no other way if submitting docs. 14 day cool off period is a joke, cancelled the policy after only 24 hours of trying to jump through hoops, but still got charged £41... absolutely scandalous... AVOID....

We have looked at your case and can see that we were unable to accept your proof of no claims bonus documentation, as unfortunately the document that you sent to us did not include the date when your previous policy expired. Therefore, we could not confidently accept that this was your most recent no claims bonus.

In terms of the cancellation fees, as a broker, we incur several charges related to setting up a policy. These can include but are not limited to, acquisition costs/aggregator charges, validation checks and administrative costs. If you cancel the annual policy early, for whatever reason, we will return you the remaining amount refunded by the insurer, less the costs incurred for setting up the policy.

Wont be using this company again

Wont be using this company again. Went to change my address and they have charged me £72.40 for the trouble, which isnt far off the total for my insurance!
I was informed that Wicked Quotes charge £50 and the Brokers £22.40!
There seems to be a surge in certain companies hammering its 'customers@ once they have them under their control.
I thought my household insurance ammendment fee of £25 was bad enough.
Think very carefully when looking at quotes and see what their ammendment fees are.
I certainly will not be using them again and will inform all my bike group to do the same.

Bikers beware. If I only read the reviews first, I would have saved myself a wickedly awful experience. Everyone is complaining about the same issue. INSURANCE CANCELLED AND NO REFUND AND BIKERS WALK AWAY WITH MONEY LOST AND NO INSURANCE.

It all started with a comparison website, which introduced me to Wicked, and boy, are they bad.

I purchased Motorcycle insurance from a comparison website and was instantly connected to Wicked, where I found out that my garage was not eligible for insurance because the postcode was different to my home address, and instantly the problems began...

I was on my hands free when the call came in, and I said not to worry, just cancel the quote as I have a 2 week cooling off period, and bear in mind, this call was about 20 minutes after I clicked on their quote. Anyway, I digress...

I never spoke to Sam again; that was his name, absolutely useless, too; as I was away at the ABR festival, nevertheless, he took himself to insure my bike to an unknown address and money was removed from my account.

I asked for a cancellation, and he said I would have to pay for it to be cancelled and my policy, and walk away empty handed and a couple of hundred pounds down, but still with no insurance.

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS!!! THEY INSURE YOU EVEN WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW YOUR ADDRESS, THEN LOOK FOR THE MOST OBSCURE DETAIL TO CANCEL CLAIMING THE 'UNDERWRITERS' WON'T ALLOW IT.

I'm contacting the FOS and my bank and claiming a refund and I suggest any biker that reads this should do the same because they will keep acting with impunity until someone stands up to them.

Just because they work in insurance, they think they're untouchable. No one is untouchable. Period.

Any other company that offered a service and after payment, that service was declined would be charged with FRAUD!!! But because they're an insurance company, they think they can get away with it.

We have looked into your case, and it appears that after you purchased the policy you mentioned that your vehicle would be stored at a different postcode, and you were advised at the time we would have to refer the matter over to your insurers to make a decision.

You were later advised that the insurer did not support dual postcodes and that your vehicle must be kept at the home address. The garaging requirements are mandated by the insurers and are not within our control as your broker.

We made several attempts to discuss the matter with you and were unable to make contact and you refused to send in the documents we required for validation.

You requested that the policy should be cancelled 18 days later after it was incepted.

When we finally spoke to you, you used abusive language, and we had no alternative but to terminate the call.

We listened to all your calls with our staff, and they were courteous and professional with you at all times. You were kept informed throughout, and the address details we used were those provided by yourself when you purchased the policy online.

Our Terms of Business Agreement, which is shown to you prior to payment and policy activation, outlines all applicable fees. Please note that even during the 14-day cooling-off period, charges will apply for the duration the policy was active, along with any relevant cancellation fees.

We have done all we can to try and resolve the situation, but we will not tolerate rude and abusive language to our staff.

There are a lot of hoops to jump through,
They want a lot of docs and proof of things, but apart from that they have been great so far.
I got to add a lot of extras and it's still cheaper than my renewal quote.

More hassle than I’ve had before.

This seems like a lot of hassle having to go online create this License Summary, as well as send a picture of my license and a picture of a recent utility bill (which are becoming less frequent as we’re going paperless) and then proof of no claims as recent years the insurance company have got from the previous company. I am trying to do this at home where I currently have no computer just phone and tablet, so had a reply saying you couldn’t view the documents as they were in the wrong format (I thought it showed they were in the correct one). If nothing happens insurance is effectively money for nothing so I’d have thought Wicked could have made this process less hassle and done some of the work. It has taught me a valuable lesson as every year I go on line to get the best quotes and save a few pounds but it might be worth not trying to save that and stick with the better known insurance companies as they this is the most work I’ve had to do after buying insurance.
