Rory Maclean was excellent - despite the 'serious risk of wildfire' alert that kicked the evening off! His book has had great reviews, but his own description of his experiences in the years after his wife died will stay with me a long time. Venue was good, price was very reasonable as it included a glass of wine - only the rather uncomfortable chairs made us glad to stand up again!

How every book shop should be
Winstone's is how every book shop should be. What you can't find on the shelf, the helpful staff will have in your hand in days. It is a lovely space to walk into off the street with lots of alluring titles to tempt and interest. I also love the fabulous array of cards and wrapping paper. It's a pleasure to shop in.
