Very poor customer service. Tellers have an attitude that they could care less if you close your account and take your business elsewhere. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there isn't one on site and would have them call me. After leaving my number a "market manager" called me and pretty much had the same attitude. She basically told me that her teller would never speak to me the way I reported. I am closing my account as soon as the branch opens this morning.

I've been with this bank for some years now and are very happy with the service that I receive. Extremely friendly and professional service by this branch. I fully recommend coming here for your banking needs! I look forward to going to this branch once a week to handle all of my business and personal needs. If you want problems, this is the bank for you! They refuse to fix their website, it's been months and I still cannot log in. Out of the blue it stopped working, I'm told I have to drive to a branch to change my password which is supposed to fix the problem of their website not sending out authenticator codes. You get a discover debit card, that not everyone accepts. To get the MC debit card you have to wait for a week or two, and maybe have to pay for it if you want to replace the crappy discover one, then they choose the pin number for you which cannot be changed. If you forget it, you have to pay for another card.
If you start a new job try to cash your check, you must deposit it, and then wait for 2 weeks for your money. They tell you a few days, it's 2 weeks every single time!!!
They do not accept Zelle, unless you get the MC, which again - you have to wait and pay for, and the pin issues.
I have been dealing with this joke of a bank for several years now. I have other accounts at other banks and never have these issues. I need to get the hell out of here. It is so frustrating.
This company is so far behind in technology it's laughable. What kind of bank operates like this in 2023???
No wonder they are in Walmart - they are cheap, generic versions of a bank.

My husband and I both have checking accounts at Woodforest National Bank. We make transfers often between these two accounts. He has recently broke his phone and we were unable to make transfers. As luck would have it, I overdrew our joint account. He was able to call the bank and speak with a wonderful woman named Nicole at the lafayette, Indiana bank branch. She was able to initiate the transfer between our accounts so we were not charged overdraft fees. We've had these accounts for 15 years. I have always appreciated the fact that we are able to handle any difficult situations with these accounts easily and stress-free. Thanks Nicole you made this situation easy to deal with.

My wife and i have had our accounts for many years now. The one thing I don't care for Is that they shut down our local branch, forcing us to burn excessive amounts of gas to go to a dangerous neighborhood that they call a local branch. It is in no way local guys. Other than that they are great.

I am putting Woodforest Bank on blast for the shady dealings they have done which could cost my daughter jail time. To explain my self my mother is in a nursing home. My daughter is over her medical and her money so she can get my mothers bills paid.
She went to court to do it legally and have signed letters from the court/judge stating that fact. She is allowed to write checks on my mom’s account to pay the bills. Well WoodForest Bank has/is not allowing her to do it, even after my daughter contacted the Judges office and they contacted the bank sending the documents proving so.
A reasonable person would assume since the judges office contacted the bank that my daughter could go ahead and pay the nursing home with a check now. The bank froze my mom’s fund’s and refused to pay the nursing home. This has been going on for MONTHS. The nursing home has not been paid. My mother has over 8000 in her account now and if medicaid does an audit my mom will be kicked out because she has to much money in her account-all the money belongs to the nursing home☹️ and you probably guessed it, the bank refuses to release the funds to the nursing home. Now my daughter is looking at being arrested for writing hot checks to the nursing home…..Facing real jail time. The bank tells my daughter, face to face, that they never froze my mothers assets calling my daughter a liar. My daughter gets proof from the nursing home that they did and yet my daughter is the liar once again all the time still facing fraud charges that should not be. So she goes up to the bank to get the money in person in cashiers checks. The bank will only allow her to take 1,500 out with 8000 owed to the home.
There’s a kicker to this, my grandson is in the hospital. They can’t get his pain manageable-pallet of care has been called. Of course my daughter is besides herself with grief and now facing jail time???? What is wrong with people????? The bank has been us over for 9 months!!!! Its very real that my mom could loose her home, my grandson dies and my daughter goes to jail behind a bank committing fraud.
I will not say what I am prepared to do but I would love banking laws/advice to help my daughter with the situation to at least take this off her plate. She should be in the hospital with the baby and not worry about the theft occurring from the bank. Anyone with advice?

The manager and staff at the EASLEY. SC walmart bank are horrible. 1st visit to cash a check they wouldn't cash it, the manager told me that woodforest does not accept 3rd party check, but then I asked If I could deposit the check and she said yes but she would put a 7 day hold on it. So I just took the check back to my customer and she voided the check. 3 days later the same customer writes me a check for my services, so I go to the ATM at the same WF Easely SC bank and deposit the check in the ATM. The ATM approved the check and deposited it as pending, I understand that. What I don't understand is why in the hell the Easley SC manager opened the ATM removed my check and mailed it back to me. I have yet to receive the check in the mail. She stopped the processing of the check and took it upon herself to remove the check from the ATM. She didn't contact me via phone or email, no notice at all of her intentions.
Update- I reached out to the email shared in the BOT message with no response back from WFNB. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, waiting back for that. My power will be shut off in a day, I have no gas to get to work and I'm quickly running out of groceries. The manager had no right to remove my check from the ATM. IF SHE THINKS I A FRAUD or something she should've closed my account right then and she could've gave me a call so I could've taken care of the matter. My customer is furious, because now she has screwed up her account, thinking the money had been taken out for my payment. I think I need a lawyer.

I’ve been trying to get assistance from a manager for a week straight between multiple locations. I don’t get calls back and no one seems to have any answers when it comes down to disputes. We have provided proof from Amazon that specific charges are not from my account. They have denied disputes without providing proper reasoning for the denials. This place seems overly understaffed and lacks people in charge who can handle escalated situation. I’m disputing 3k is fraudulent charges and no one seems to be taking these concerns serious. We’ve talked to 5 different people and spent hours on the phone with them still telling us we need to go into a facility in person. However, we get there and no one knows how to assist and says we will be getting a callback. Any help would be appreciated because no one deserves to be scammed like this. At their request, 3 different debit cards have been canceled because of this and yet no one can provide financial support even with the physical proof the charges are fraud. The charges are link to a random account from a separate state but yet we get denied?

I moved but kept my bank acct and credit line open since everything can be done online these days right? Well I open another acct different bank to where I live now for my direct deposit I try to mAke payment online it can only be transferred from my checking to reli on credit which is now pretty broke since had direct deposit switched to other bank can't make payment online or by phone has to be in person at a bank which is over 200miles away.i mean wow way to stay with the times Woodforest not counting time when debit card stolen / lost and get charged 15$ for replacement or ridiculous overdraft fees no way in hell you getting a loan here and customer service is the biggest joke I hate this bank with a passion!!! Stay away from these crooked POS!!!

For over three years now, I am and have been so excited to be a banking customer with Woodforest National Bank
Every experience; especially with customer service within any of the multiple branches that are housed within Walmart Stores, has been impeccable. Top Notch in every way.
Whenever I have had even the smallest dispute from fraudulent attempts on my account debit card or issues with my checking account, Woodforest has always, without a doubt, taken care of the issue within hours or even less time.
They have so many great banking services and the employees are outstanding.
Recently I have moved from Georgia to Alabama and I did not have to worry about any banking fears. I just went into a local branch and gave them my new address, etc., and within moments my account was updated.
A bank that truly cares about me.

-0 Fraudulent transactions took place on my account from 4/23-5/23, 3k worth of fraud every dispute and claim was denied, then told to step into the branch to see the footage to prove it was not me on 6/26/23 then told I would be refunded quickly after I proved it was not me. Brent the branch manager on white horse rd in Greenville, SC took my id and acknowledged it was not me on the footage refused to show me the footage, ask me to leave, and tells me I had no business in there, came home expecting to receive money owed to me from the fraud since they now have footage of me knew they would compare the footage against the person who actually done the fraud, was told to re-dispute it by supervisors. They blocked me from calling on 2 numbers, and hang up on me stating they will not assist me each time I call they tell me I need to step into the branch, and after telling me I need to step into a branch they refused to assist me 3 times, I proved it was not me. They have refused to honor their end of the bargain they have actually, shown this bank is not an honorable bank for falsely accusing me then they never refund my money after proving that was not me whom they accused of fraud, next they block 2 of my numbers from calling, then they flag agents to hang up on me whenever I call then they tell me to go back inside a branch that refuses to assist me as if they are trying to send me on a suicide mission to get assassinated, attempting to send me inside to branch for the 4th time after they have refused to assist me, making me out to be the bad guy when Woodforest are the bad guys, from the agents hanging up on me, not refunding all the fraud in my account then sending me on a dummy mission to get assassinated which the media would say the worst but in reality, its Woodforest will treat a customer like friends as money deposited but as money is withdrawn or if fraud is on their account you are their enemy, and they will treat you like a enemy don't choose this bank. Their reply is so fake also this bank is obviously paying the OCC The BBB and The CFPB cause you will never win a case against this bank and the feds wont shut them down so they are problaby funding all the alphabet organizaions and its sad that this bank will take from their own customers and these complaint agencies will not do anything about it nor will THE OCC WILL LET THEM CONTINUE TO TAKE FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS...

OMG, I had the worst experience ever with this Bank. They blocked my cashier Check for 2 months with poor customer service. I almost lose my money. If you are a Tourist never use Woodforest, you will regret it! I don't even know why they are still operating. I would recommend Bank of America

By far the worst bank I have ever been associated with. They freeze your account if you conduct bill pay check even if you have a few thousand dollars in the account. They disable my online access without warning and expect you to go into a branch to have it unlocked. Horrible and useless customer service. Never again. You can’t send wires online, use Zelle or conduct any ACH payments. Just a horrible horrible experience.

In San Antonio, I opened my account on Austin Hwy branch. Anyway, when I made cash transactions money come up missing. A day after Juneteenth 2023, I gave the teller $100 in cash and 3 checks. The teller did not make the correction on my deposit slip or make mention of the difference in person like normal people do in any business. But, she notated it as $80 instead. Then took an additional amount from the back end. So, I lost $40. When I confronted the manager (was studdering) she made up all these lies about how it was miscounted or I did not properly add up the sum on the original deposit slip. WRONG ASSESSMENT! Put in an internal complaint at corporate. Spoke with a regional manager and she said that everything looked ok on the cameras. This was the second time they stole money from me.
So, everybody make complaints to the FDIC and OCC. They've already been sited for overdraft violations. And they are mostly located in Walmart stores. Walmart employees are more aware of Woodforest Bank thievery ways than their customers and they are RUDE to their customers too.
The regional manager said she was closing my account because when I withdrew all my money out at the ATM...I knocked their display down and walked out. I told her the acct is already closed when I took my money out and if I came in the branch to close it you would have stole some more money. Why would I do that? These people are playing a dangerous game. We are living in the era of mental illness.
She better be glad I am not crazy. One day it will be the wrong one.
They don't deserve that one star rating. ZERO rating is more appropriate.

This bank refuses to communicate with you when they have made a mistake. They will not let you speak with their legal department and locally they say call Corporate but after trying to wear you down with 3rd world phone operators for an hour they promise to have Legal to call back but never do. They have shared personal information with my son in violation of State and Federal laws while causing problems and making threats of reporting false information to credit bureaus if my son doesn’t pay a debt that has nothing to do with him. He has not used his account in 3 years when he asked them to close it. Shameful !!!

I've just opened a account with woodforest in greensboro Walmart they service is bad to clients I did a transfer yesterday and also ask the consultants to do an international transfer I don't think she knows what she was doing and I'm going back today to close this account I feel un safe if someone from this bank can contact me that knows their job 13368146790 she couldn't set me up with my online banking I don't think she knows nothing about banking been stressing all night where the $400.00 went to cause I need to pay my bills in South Africa, I worked for a bank in Africa I've never came across how I was treated yesterday and the service was bad

This is the worst bank ever, the app doesn't work properly and it will show drafting money from your account and then show the balance, then when you make multiple transactions afterwards, it will show drafting some of the previous transactions again as if they were just being taken out for the first time. People please watch for this. They are not honest in how they do business. They Will Rip You Off!!!

My elderly mother was scammed and when I called customer service they were rude and would not talk to me even after my mother verified her account. I am also on her account as co owner, Thank goodness for our local branch, without them i would have closed this account
