Efficient and knowledgeable

I have used WSP a few times to buy and sell house and to write my Will.

Sue Taylor, Lucy McCallum and Lisa Hope were all proactive, pragmatic and easy to work with. Just what you want in a conveyancer.

We used WSP Solicitors for the conveyancing whilst purchasing our first home. Lucy McCallum was very helpful and knowledgable throughout the entire process. We were kept informed at all times and felt that the process was made very easy for us in a stressful time. Would definitely recommend WSP!

WSP provided a first class conveyancing service. Communication was fast and efficient and they were always ahead of the game. We will definitely use WSP again.

Very efficient and quick service

The solicitor who was helping me was extremely patient and kind and treated me with sympathetic understanding for which I am very thankful. She made my experience of dealing with difficult issues over the past two years seem less traumatic by explaining it all.

We were kept informed during the process and the conveyancing was achieved in record time.

I really wouldn't advise anyone to use this law firm.

They are and have been Completely unprofessional from the get-go and I have been passed from person to person with no one knowing at times ,what is going on with my daughter's case.

The staff member that was appointed to a hearing by WSP fumbled her way through court, not getting a single point across that needed to be discussed and nothing of value was brought to the attention of the court.
And there were many very important and valid points I wanted to be brought up in court which were discussed rigorously beforehand.
I believe the excuses they tend to come up with at times ,not many people would take seriously .
I'd also say that a lessened communication kicks in ,once they are payed ..
I can only try and help to deter people from this cowboy firm.
Save yourself the worries and hassle of dealing with these people and go with a more respectful firm that holds a much better rating.

But no I haven't recieved any Contact from anyone at the firm since last week .
And my review doesn't mention anything to do with the conversation I had via email last week and is made in connection with hearings in the middle of the case and terrible communication and slow service that I recived then .
My email hasn't changed and my email has been your only port of contact to me since the start of the case ,unfortunately.
I had one or two phone calls at the start of this case and then mostly only ever conversed via email which again is unprofessional and only serves to illustrate just how terrible the communication has been with WSP.
Why my legal aid has been mentioned here I will never know? As I haven't left nothing until this response now to suggest that this is why I am leaving a bad review. And in fact has nothing to do with this review. But if you would like to talk facts. You took 5 days to tell me that you won't be taking the case and left me without any time of finding another solictor in time. Which is actually disgusting behavior, as you knew full well that time was strained here as you were the first to point that out.
Laughable judgment on your behalf ,I have to say.
I can only guess why you would focus on last weeks conversation , instead of the real issues here .
WSP Stroud , have been terrible as a whole and last weeks discussion doesn't warrant why I am pointing out the many faults and hopelessness on display at WSP.

The one star I have given is mandatory for the lowest rating I'm able to award here ,sadly..
Therefore it should not be confused with there maybe being a glimmer of hope ,In this firms case ,there is none.

This should be a 1 star but considering how bad a client I was I’ve put it up to 2. I’m chronically bad at organising paperwork and answering emails so when I cancelled a sale with them I was expecting a big bill. What I was not expecting was a completely unitemised bill. When I asked for itemisation the bill then suddenly dropped from £1000 to £800. This is absolutely disgusting. Yes I was a pain but adding a random 25% to the bill?? Disgusting

Terrible solicitors, don't accept an offer or instruction from any buyer or seller using them. After waiting months for finance to be arranged for a foreign buying using this firm for their purchase and letting the sellers spend a lot of money on requested documentation and advice, the acting solicitor waited until everything was close to exchange and then scared off the buyer telling them to reconsider the purchase at the last moment citing the Building Safety Act without even checking if the building which is relatively new was compliant or not which they could have done months earlier. No doubt they will still be asking for their fee.

Have sat on a document needed to move the chainless purchase of my house forward for months and don't reply to my solicitors chasing.

Had a claim going on for nearly 4 years and we’ve got absolutely nowhere.
It took them 2 years to call me just to hear my experience (definitely could’ve been done sooner). There was multiple “threats” made to the defendant to try and make them move quicker yet nothing was actually done and we’re still in the same position. For an update I have to get in touch with them, turns out they had a document for me to sign for months but didn’t think to send it to me. Thought it was a great idea to make me an appointment at a clinic 30 MILES AWAY without consulting me first, first I hear of it is a letter from the clinic to tell me I have an appointment and how much it costs - as you could imagine this made me start to panic thinking I'll be paying for it.
Also speaking of updates, they’re happy to let me know how much has been incurred in fees (don’t have a clue what any of it means either, didn't care to offer to explain any of it).
Definitely avoid

We were at the bottom of a chain where the Vendors had used this firm for their sale and purchase. We never did receive the answers to our enquiries and our own Solicitor was just constantly ignored. Emails went unanswered and so did telephone calls.

Our purchase dragged on for an extra 8 weeks because of their lack of effort and would probably still be going on now if we hadn’t started looking at other properties!
As a result, we have lost money having to put furniture into storage. The answers to our questions I had to find out for myself from the Management Company then 3 weeks later WSP tried to fob everyone off saying the Management Company hadn’t responded to them!! It would be laughable if it wasn’t so stressful.

We were told that their own client has raised a complaint over the service they have received. But from a third party’s prospective in the chain, all I can say is that It’s been a living nightmare so I would not recommend this firm to anyone!

Having been my family solicitors for over sixty years I visited the Stroud branch of WSP three years ago to make my Will. I was asked numerous unnecessary questions and my answers were doubted. I had put a lot of thought into it and requested a Will consisting of just two wishes both of which the solicitor criticized and offered alternative suggestions. I left the office crying and shocked at the way I had been treated. It was a very upsetting experience that I will never forget. I have since had a new Will drawn up exactly to my original instructions by a Will Writer for half the price. WSP were executors of the estate of a relation who died last year. I dreaded contacting them and wasn't surprised when my call was transferred to the same member of staff. Due to my refusal to discuss the matter with her it was dealt with by a partner (now director) of the company who was polite but worked at an incredibly slow pace, she told me incorrect information throughout, failed to respond to inquiries raised by telephone and email and made errors when preparing the draft accounts which I brought to her attention immediately. Six months later I received finalized accounts containing the same mistakes plus a further two omissions. I have no confidence in this company and do not recommend them.

This firm has been contacted on numerous occasions by phone, email and letters and have not provided the information that was asked of them.
Definitely would NOT recommend this firm
