Enjoy the View / 1st Folding Avis 

I simply must extend a HUGE and warm thankyou to Jenny at 1st Folding Doors who really came to the "save the day" party by having our Cortiz slimline door repaired. We noticed Sunday night there was an issue preventing it opening/locking and it's Tuesday AM and it's been repaired. This is customer service at it's premium. So can we please get a round of applause for Jenny's proactive and considerate approach to sorting this out. It's a unique find to have aftercare like this... so for this alone, I am going to finally recommend 1st Folding. A shout out too the lads that came before 9am this morning to fix it too. Polite.. knew what they were doing and a credit to the company!

We had our bifolds installed a while ago by First Folding. Yesterday a contractor came to our home and opened the doors incorrectly, badly jamming them and leaving them wide open, and therefore our home open. On calling First Folding they first tried to help me solve the problem via a video call. When this was not successful they sent an engineer round who arrived very promptly and was able to fix the problem. This was entirely done out of goodwill by First Folding. We were out of warranty but their customer service was second to none. Can’t fault them. Thank you Jenny and the team.

Great customer service! Having had my bifold doors for 7 years. I suddenly couldn’t lock the back door leaving our house unsecured. This was very scary with young children in the house so I emailed the service team and in less than 12 hours a delightful engineer named Daniel was sent to inspect the problem and then returned to repair the lock very quickly a few hours later. He was very friendly and thorough. He even picked up on another problem I hadn’t realised and is coming back to sort this out soon. I am very grateful that I can now rest easy knowing the house is secure again.

We have had a set o their bi-fold doors for over 12 years and are still in excellent working order, however did have to replace the middle handle. The standard of service to make sure I chose the correct handle for the old doors and the prompt responses was second to none, as I commented to the service lady at the time, if only all companies provided such good service! As an aside I had a glazer in my house working on something else and he commented on the excellent quality of our bi-fold doors, 12 years and still going strong!

We have had our doors in our garden room since 2018. We had a problem that one of the panels had blown. On contact with company they soon arranged replacement glass and site visit. Then a hinge had dropped and they rectified the situation the same day without fuss. Daniel was very informative and did a great job. Thanks.

We had our bifold doors installed with 1st folding just over 10 years ago, we were so impressed with the quality of the product and the professional service we received that we then went on to have our entire house fitted with their windows and doors.

Marcus and his crew have been fantastic to work with, the fitters have always been tidy and polite, especially Richard and Dan!

Nine years down the line we had a problem with one of the integrated blind panels, we spoke to Jenny (she must be the most efficient and professional customer service person I have ever dealt with) and within a few days someone had come round to rectify the issue.

We are now in the process of getting an extension built with a frameless roof lantern and have once again chosen them for the project. One of the reasons I will be returning is their exceptional ability to deal with any issues, which I’ve found is quite a rarity with companies these days. Finding a great product is one thing but finding a company who will stand by their product, and not come up with 101 excuses as to why it’s not covered in the guarantee, is a totally different ball game.

We are happy with our aluminium sliding doors and this is the most important part but the reason for the 4 star review is that it took quite a few visits to get one of the sets working and locking properly. We have had a few installers that came, left not long after saying it was fixed only for the same issue to happen hours later (trouble locking).

That said, Dan and Jenny were very understanding and Dan was by far the best installer we had and he has finally fixed the issue that was not fixed by previous visits. Overall therefore, very happy with the product, very happy with Jen and Daniel but less so with other installers that came to rectify issues hence cannot give a 5 star review.

6 years ago, Marcus visited & later on First fitted various doors. 6 years on I needed a tweak on the back folding doors. No problems at all for them, Jenny sorted & with the rep in the SW15 area it was do DONE THAT DAY! Service was great.

We have had three sets of sliders installed into our house. Just commissioning a fourth set. Great service from visiting the showroom and discussing the best products to Ali visiting to survey the site. Lovely end product. Which is why I am using again.

After a number of years of daily use the closing process on our sliding doors felt a little out of alignment. I spoke with Jenny in the Office who is extremely helpful. Within a few hours Daniel, an installation and maintenance engineer, had visited and resolved the matter quickly and efficiently. A fabulous service.

A ghastly experience with these people when one of the huge bifold doors shattered spontaneously after only 3.5 years. Not only did they fail to show any regret but deemed their "warranty" not applicable to such "minor defects" (I think it only covers the metal frames/locks) but their price to fix one door was well over £5.000, when the whole job for 3 doors and installation was about 7k in 2020. We found a local supplier who did it for half the money, and they were not the only quotes in that range.. I would never work with this company again.

Our front door of 6, or more years became defective. The issue was with the product, not 1st Folding Doors, which moved heaven and earth to get it replaced. They faced a number of issues during the process, but they always remained professional and courteous. Lovely people and great service

We were introduced to 1st Folding by our lead contractor, who had worked with them on other projects. We took a view they would be quick and reliable if not the cheapest.

In the end, they were three months late with their installation, delaying our construction project (which could not be completed until watertight), so that we incurred significant additional costs. There were several issues with their design and specification - for instance their surveyor should have known the building regulations requiring opaque/frosted glass to second floor windows overlooking our neighbours' side return, but did not.

I must have spoken to ten different people within 1st Folding, with no consistent record of conversations and promises made, to rectify the order. Some of these conversations turned quite aggressive at their end, when involving their directors; we were at the point of forfeiting our significant deposit and starting again with another contractor, given when we shopped around we could receive the same product at 50% of the cost, within the same timeframe. In the end we bit the bullet and stuck with 1st Folding. After two visits to rectify snagging, the works were finally completed in December (not April as contracted), with their own engineers remarking that they were 'not the best products'.

My instinct is that this firm may be very good with high end sliding doors (they do what they say on the tin), but if you want more standardised French doors / PVC windows / bespoke sky-lights, then they are going to outsource production to maximise margin (they made the mistake of forwarding us their orders to their contractors to check specifications, so we have seen their significant mark-up on costs). So I would shop around.

A fantastic repair job on our bifold doors which had minor problems with the handle and sliding mechanism after 4 years worth of constant use.

My beautiful, bifold doors became difficult to slide. However, this was resolved quickly and efficiently. I couldn’t be happier with the service. I would recommend this company.

Had my lovely doors installed years ago and recently needed a service issue sorting. I couldn’t be happier with the service received the issue was sorted quickly and efficiently. My doors are as good as when I bought them again and I always recommend this company to anyone looking for bifolds to be installed.

The handle on our bifold patio doors was coming loose a year after fitting.

I contacted 1stfoldingsliding doors about the issue and Jenny from the service team was very responsive. She arranged an engineer to come round a few weeks later who was very polite and fixed the door handle with ease.

The locking mechanism on the bifold patio doors of the house I’d just moved into was condemned by two local locksmiths and I was told that I would need to replace the whole door at considerable expense.
The previous owners told me that 1stfoldingsliding doors had installed the doors.
Jenny who I spoke to in the office was incredibly helpful and the engineer who came on the day was pleasant and efficient. He was able to replace the lock and sort out the crooked door that caused the problem in the first place.

Danny and his team turned around some lovely triple panel doors and a fixed pane for us in record time. We needed them quickly to finish a build and they didn't disappoint - totally delivered the goods!

We installed our bi-fold doors 15 years ago and they've been brilliant. Last week we had a problem with a handle. Daniel delivered a new handle personally the next day and was extremely helpful. He obviously takes great pride in his work. What an amazing service. I wish there were more companies like them out there!
