Pathetic check in experience.

I was traveling to London, with a hop in Almaty.

Had such a pathetic check in experience. The check in staff kept lying that only one bag is allowed in the cabin, when the website clearly says a carry on bag + personal item is allowed. They won't listen when the details were pointed to them.

Seems the airline is pressuring is staff to try and grab money from the passengers.
Such a pathetic tactic.

Excellent traveling flying with air Astana

I recommend flying with air Astana. From the intuitive website to customer support on flying with special equipment made booking a flight easy. The flight service was exceptional, all the employees I encountered were friendly and professional. From beginning to end it was a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen...

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, mit Air Astana am 18.03.26 von Frankfurt nach Astana und am 30.03.2026 zurück zu fliegen, und ich bin rundum begeistert von der gesamten Erfahrung. Schon beim Boarding fiel mir die hervorragende Organisation und die freundliche Atmosphäre auf, die sich durch den gesamten Flug zog.
Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Bordpersonal: selten habe ich ein so herzliches, professionelles und gleichzeitig aufmerksames Team erlebt. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter war äußerst zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und stets mit einem ehrlichen Lächeln unterwegs. Man hatte jederzeit das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein und bestens betreut zu werden. Wünsche wurden schnell und unkompliziert erfüllt, und auch kleine Details – wie persönliche Ansprache oder zusätzliche Aufmerksamkeit – machten den Unterschied.
Der Service an Bord war exzellent: Das Essen war schmackhaft und liebevoll angereicht, die Kabine sauber und angenehm, und die gesamte Reise verlief ruhig und entspannt. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich, wie souverän und gleichzeitig warmherzig das Team auf die Bedürfnisse der Passagiere eingegangen ist.
Insgesamt war es eine durchweg positive Erfahrung, die ich jederzeit wiederholen würde. Air Astana setzt in Sachen Service und Gastfreundschaft wirklich Maßstäbe – ein großes Kompliment an das gesamte Bordpersonal!

This is the worst airline I have ever encountered in my life. It was the most horrible experience, like a nightmare. On the return flight from Namibia to Thailand, the aircraft was broken and we were kept waiting on board for three hours. They claimed it was being repaired, and in the end they had to bring in another aircraft to replace it. Mothers with small children had to hold their babies for three hours on the plane. There were very few toilets, and we wasted hours for absolutely nothing, while they refused to tell us the truth.

In the fourth hour, they finally told us to get off the plane. The flight attendants, those shameless hosts, did not apologize at all. No apology, no bowing, no acknowledgment of responsibility, not even any service-minded effort to take care of the passengers. They just stood there, arrogant, posing like models.

After getting off the plane, we were forced to go through document checks again, even though our documents had already been checked. It was a complete waste of time, repeated over and over. The airport itself was old, run-down, and extremely overcrowded. There was only one restroom. It was a truly terrible airport.

Later, when the replacement aircraft arrived, there was not even an announcement that the flight was going to Bangkok. They simply told people to board. People from this country are truly awful.”

We were coming from almaty with our friends have low weight baggage but staff was not allow us to manage baggage weight from one another and they were very rude with specially I remember one of staff sabina at almaty airport was very rude. One our friend was very sick and wad not able to walk but they order to go on first floor and many more places. Flight experience was good but staff should polite with their passengers.

Unseriöse Fluggesellschaft

Unser vorausbezahlter Flug wurde von airastana eine Woche vor der Reise storniert. Das passierte im Juni 2023. Das Geld für den Flug wurde uns bis heute, trotz mehreren Anfragen und langen Kommunikation nicht zurückerstattet.
Einfach enttäuschend und unseriös.

Gross

Gross, DON’T fly with them. They were negligent with a beloved pet which caused it’s death. Disgusting because they don’t want to accept their fault.

Expired desert

I would like to bring to your attention an issue I experienced on my recent flight KC952. During the meal service, I was offered a chocolate dessert which, upon checking, turned out to be past its expiration date (please see attached pictures for reference).

This was quite concerning, as serving expired food on board can impact both passenger safety and overall experience. I kindly request that you look into this matter to ensure such incidents do not happen in the future.

Unser Gepäck kam beschädigt an, man könnte aus dem Flugzeugfenster aus sehen wie schlecht es behandelt worden ist. 2 neue Koffer Kaputt und die Fluggesellschaft interessiert es nicht, nächste Mal fliege ich mit turkish Airlines lieber, bisher sind wir jedes Jahr mit Air Astana geflogen seit 6 Jahren.

I've been travelling the world for 3,5 years, 47 airplanes, and have to say: Air Astana is the best so far! Economy basically feels like business class 👌

Worst airline

Very rude staff. Snatches blanket from my mother even when she is sleeping,the staff is pushing us,staff is ignoring us after countless times.Recommend not going in the airline

Surprisingly much better than expected

When they made me weigh my carry-on at the airport and gave me a hard time over an extra kilo — which I ended up having to wear — I thought, “Here we go again, another low-cost airline experience.” But unexpectedly, the flight turned out great — the food was quite tasty, and they even offered wine. For the price I paid, the service was excellent.

Very poor communication and unexpected increased refund charges

Booked a business class flight ref (9AV7HA) for September 2025 with stop over in Astana .Sent Air Astana two emails as I had concerns about the stop over Hotels. One was showing fully booked for my dates and the other had a bath. Due to the fact that I suffer from osteoarthitis, I would be safe climbing in and out of the bath unaided. In fact there was a comment made by a previous customer warning og the high bath and lack of hand rail to alight the bath .For this reason I contacted the airline twice by email stating my concerns and asking if there were any other Hotel possibilities on their stop over list . No reply to both emails .Due the cost incurred to book a suitable Hotel, for what amounted to two nights, I cancelled my flight. I recieved no confimation email to state that my cancelation was recieved, being processed or the amount of the refund .I expected as documented on their website a cancellation charge . Instead I recieved my refund and the cancellation charge was double what was expected .I appears that I had not recieved any refund for the seat upgrades selected. Very disapointed with Air Astana .Be Warned.

Wrongly charged + false advertising

Not only did their e-ticket not work, but they also falsely advertised a free personal item that fits under the seat and an 8kg carry-on. When I got to the airport, they made me pay $70, claiming the personal item must not exceed 3kg. This weight limit was never mentioned during the booking process or confirmation on booking.com (which is where I bought my ticket).

Худшее путешествие в моей жизни — по вине Air Astana.

10 апреля 2025 мой рейс KC132 из Душанбе в Алматы был задержан более чем на 5 часов. Из-за этого я пропустил чартерный рейс во Вьетнам, за который никто не вернул деньги. Air Astana не предложила ни отеля, ни компенсации, ни альтернатив — я был предоставлен сам себе. Мне пришлось покупать покупать новый билет и оплатить все расходы повторно. Служба поддержки плевать хотела на вас и ваши проблемы, можете даже не пытаться с ними связаться.

Полное безразличие к пассажирам. Впервые и в последний раз с этой авиакомпанией.
Моя оценка — 1/5. Никому не советую.

Und sehr einfach. Wir haben Geld schon verloren.

Und sehr einfach. Ich habe mein Flugzeug durch die Nachlässigkeit der Parkhausgesellschaft verloren. Und als ich dann ein neues Ticket in Flughafen kaufen wollte, fand ich heraus, dass Air Astana den Rückflug annulliert, wenn ich nicht an Bord bin. Es war, raten Sie mal, in kleinen Buchstaben geschrieben. Ich werde nie wieder mit dieser Fluggesellschaft fliegen.

Loud rude staff broke my bag

Loud and rude gate staff at Delhi did not allow me to spread weight between other bags in my family. Started making up random fake rules to force me to pay the price of gold for my extra weight. Staff(Karandeep, Ved Prakash) also broke the zip of my bag while trying to rip off a tag instead of cutting it off and all I asked was for them to secure the bag before putting in the hold after breaking it which they promised but did not do.

Raised issue with customer service and they gave me generic response saying they hope I have a better experience with them next time. No compensation for damage of goods but instead paid £200 for an extra few kg weight that I could share with other bags while threating to take me off the flight, disgusting India staff 🤮

One of the worst experiences of my life…

One of the worst experiences of my life I had with this airline !
They literally threatened and mentally tortured me after checking in my baggage for which I have paid in advance for 46 kgs baggage allowance.
After checking me in this women Yasmin was laughing at me and saying make it to the boarding gate in 3 mins as before she has been troubling me for luggage even though my luggage was 10kgs lesser than I paid she want to know what all I have in the hand baggage and wanted me to leave the clothes what I shopped after begging her she laughed at me and calling me a beggar then I went for scanning and passport stamp and without stopping I reached to the boarding gate then the women there again started harassing me by not letting me board the flight , the worst part was the flight left after 1 hour 10 mins and I kept on requesting and literally begged her but she did not allowed me to board the flight and and asking me to to pay for another flight with more extra money for baggage . I kept on crying as it was important for me but unheard every time , the whole crowd was seeing how bad she was and I was forced with the security to go back to the same process of passport stamp thing where they tore my boarding pass and when I went back to the check in counter asking why she played and lied to me then she told me she will make it sure I never get my baggage and the lowest part was the airport officials were supporting her then she again started threatening me for cops and I asked her do call the cops as I want them to know what you are upto but she didn’t call and smiling at me saying she will not let me have my bags and said they are gone to bishkek. I have never seen such inhumanity in a women then 2 cops came in and lost and found air Astana crew helped me and told me this was wrong what was done to me as they can’t leave me after checking in my luggage and it was intentional. After that I have to pay 270 dollar for taxi to Bishkek and I was sick for 2 days with this trauma

As per rules the airline should pay if it’s a no show but they intentionally planned and checked in my baggage so they don’t have to pay back my money and put all the blame on me .
They still haven’t returned my money !
I don’t know how inhumane and unprofessional they are
