What tells a company apart from another…
What tells a company apart from another is often its post sales customer suuport/service. Not so this company. The quantity and quality of communication before and after sales support is 1st class. Buy from them with confidence. This quality richly deserves to be rewarded with your custom.

Disappointing Service
In May, I bought the ElectriQ EcoPlus 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner. I purchased it just before the first heatwave and before the summer demand meant that all of the air conditioning units went up in price. I paid £399.97. By the end of June, the. Same unit was £799.97. I also paid extra for the extended warranty.
For the first couple of weeks, the unit worked fine. Then all of a sudden, it stopped working. It wouldn’t turn on and just made a clicking noise when plugged in.
I jumped through all of the hoops to return it to Aircon Direct. I explained that I either wanted it repaired or replaced. They don’t offer repairs, I was told, so it would have to be a replacement. I was then told that I would have to pay the additional £400 to have the same unit replaced. I explained that this was wrong and that it should just be replaced at no additional cost. I was told they had units in stock. I asked for one to be reserved for me while they “tested” my broken one. I was told it wasn’t possible.
When they eventually agreed that my unit was broken, they had sold out of my unit. They offered me several other units - but I had to pay the difference between what I paid and the summer prices. They wanted an additional £400+ from me for units that were not as good as the one I had returned. They had offered me the same brand unit but a spec up. I offered to pay the difference between what they were selling mine at and what they were selling the higher spec unit now - about £100. I was told no. I had to pay an additional £500.
I refused all of this and said how poor the service had been. They were still advertising my unit on their website for delivery after 5th August. It was explained to me that they were waiting for more stock to come in and that I could have one of those units when they arrived. It would take two days normally and someone would contact me to arrange delivery.
In the meantime, the unit had gone out of stock again on their website. However, they were now advertising the same unit as a “pristine” refurbished model.
On 7th August, I contacted Aircon Direct to arrange delivery. I was told that the shipment hadn’t come in and it was now going to be November. In other words, they had sold all of the units for the higher price and didn’t have any to give to me. I wasn’t offered the refurbished unit, which was probably my original unit they had repaired.
I have used the Buy It Direct chain several times in the past for furniture, tablets, headphones, etc. I appreciate a business needs to make a profit, but there was no customer service here at all.
Trying to get me to pay the inflated summer price after I bought it at the usual price is ridiculous. I wonder if someone who pays the higher summer price who needs a replacement in winter when the prices go back to normal again would be given a partial refund? I doubt it.

Avoid this company with all costs
Avoid this company with all costs. I Bought a split pre-gassed unit that didn’t work. I contacted them for a refund, to which they have made me jump through hopes with regards to providing evidence it was faulty. No where does it state on their website, that I need to provide any form of evidence. According to their 14 month warranty I should be covered. It looks like other people have suffered the same fate. This company sells faulty products and should be thoroughly investigated. They also had the audacity, to try and get me to pay an additional £350 for one of their engineers to come and confirm that the unit was faulty. I have been battling for months with the most arrogant customer service advisor. Avoid this company at all costs.

Fast delivery, does the job
Fast delivery, appreciated the use of DPD for delivery as I find them more reliable than most other companies. Air cooling tower was a good price and it does the job during this horrendous hot weather. Extremely grateful!

Ordered split aircon system and paid…
Ordered split aircon system and paid for it. They then send email insisting on proof of Fgas registration or offered to install for further £3.5k. Surely they should point this out before sale. Anyway I cancelled order immediately on July 29 they said refund takes 3 days and I am still waiting. Can't get through to anyone on phone.

Pity I did not notice the 'con'.
Pity I did not notice the 'con' when I found this company and made a telephone call to them. In very tiny print under the 0871 phone number, which is barely seen on a screen it states that calls are 13p a minute plus. Cost me the best part of £5 to query what I would need to order from them. Be warned!
