2 months ago had just a horrible experience with Ally just because I lost my title too my car so l can sell it. Last time I dealt with them was seven years ago and had another lender to refinance. Mailed me the title and years later still didn’t release the lien. Went to DMV and they gave me their fax number. Ally said would fax them saying they released the lien. Nobody at Ally knows how to fax and tried 3 friggin times. DMV never got it. A week went by and asked if they mail it to me and try the fax again. Carvana offered expired. Letter would take 7 business days. Got the letter a week later and took care of it.Not surprising that the fax didn’t go through. Resubmitted to sell to Carvana and offered me 400$ less and made me more angry. They should pay me 400$ . Whoever is responsible for this should be fired!
I would give zero if I could
I would give zero if I could.
I submitted a wire and the system mucked it up and added the wrong info in places. I called the rep to stop explaining the situation the transaction was still in review and he put in a request but they still sent it through even the account number had a name and not a number. DUCKING HELL
One of the worst customer service experiences I have had with a financial institution.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ally’s customer service regarding the payoff of my Tesla lease.
After speaking with Ally and receiving the official payoff amount, I mailed the **full payoff amount by cashier’s check through USPS Certified Mail**. I have **USPS Certified Mail tracking and proof showing that the mail was delivered**, yet the representative I spoke with, **Subastian, was still refusing to acknowledge or accept that the payment had been received**.
This is extremely frustrating. When a customer has documented proof from USPS showing delivery of a large cashier’s check, the response should not simply be to disregard that evidence or leave the customer uncertain about where their money is.
Instead of receiving a clear confirmation that my payment had been received and instructions regarding the title-release process, I was given vague responses and told that I needed to call because it was a “sensitive matter.”
My experience with Subastian was particularly disappointing because I did not receive clear answers, reassurance, or what I consider appropriate assistance despite having **certified-mail proof of delivery available**.
When a customer sends a large cashier’s check to completely pay off a vehicle, Ally should be able to clearly confirm:
* Whether the payment has been received and posted
* Why USPS shows delivery if Ally claims it has not been received
* Whether the account is fully paid off
* Whether any additional amount or documentation is required
* The exact status of the title transfer
* What the customer should expect next
Instead, I have been left uncomfortable and uncertain about both my payment and my vehicle title.
My biggest complaint is the **lack of clear communication, accountability, and customer care**, especially when documented proof of delivery exists.
For a major financial institution handling auto loans and leases, I expected much better. Ally seriously needs to improve how it handles payoff payments, investigates certified-mail delivery issues, and communicates with customers.
Aci 3rd party is only communication…
Aci 3rd party is only communication anyone can access. Impossible to reach Ally direct by phone. 3rd party is only option to making payments or attempting to receive short term flexibility for unforseen financial issues to be resolved. Aci 3rd party offers solutions over phone you are satisfied with to correct issues; however, these adjustments do not hold water and never are implemented as agreed.
You are then hit with penalty fees on top of regular payment, totally unexpected. Can't reach Ally direct and Aci will not provide a correct phone number to reach Ally direct.
Refinancing is only option to end frustration.

I’ve read quite a few reviews regarding Ally. Initially I was almost in the class of the other consumers. I had an issue which in my opinion was very important. It seemed as though I was being treated unfairly.
However, once I got into the hands of the right person all of that changed. Not only did they correct my situation, they completed it expeditiously.
I was so surprised to see how they took care of me once management got involved.
Kudos to the representative that took care of my urgent concerns!
Thank you
very bad experience with Ally auto loan…
very bad experience with Ally auto loan finance. 1. Lack of Financial Clarity: The system is vague and does not provide a year-to-date (YTD) breakdown for principal and interest payments.
2. Payment Allocation Restrictions: When auto-pay is enabled, the system fails to recognize extra payments intended for the principal balance. Instead, I am forced to make a separate, manual transaction after the auto-pay payment has processed.
These limitations make managing my loan difficult and frustrating.
Stay away from Ally
Got a loan for a vehicle using dealer financing (worst mistake). Dealer chose Ally. Ally's customer service is made up of overseas individuals that read off a script and give wrong information. Unlike regular banks, Ally does not provide payoff statements via online so I had to call. I called and was told it would be sent through secure messaging on the app in 1 hr. Over an hr passed and no message. So now I call a second time only to be told that was wrong info and that it actually takes 2 business days to receive. WHAT! So being that I called on Thursday, I now have to wait until the following Monday to receive a piece of paper that I could have gotten online with any other real reputable bank in seconds. I'll be so glad when I can transfer this loan to another bank and be done with Ally. They are the worst!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! No help whatsoever with my auto loan and having a simple request to have them fax my title to the DMV! They wouldn’t do it and said it would take a few business days but couldn’t tell me when. Absolutely ridiculous. They partnered with Lease End with current vehicle we decided to finance after lease. Never again.
My name is Max

I have been an Ally customer for years, and my experience with this company has been a case study in incompetence and unaccountability.
In 2018, Ally made an error processing one of my loan payments. I had sufficient funds and made the payment on time, but Ally returned it due to their own processing mistake, then charged me a late fee and reported the account as delinquent to the credit bureaus. I sent Ally proof repeatedly, documentation showing the payment was made and funds were available, and they did nothing with it. The issue was only ever resolved by disputing it directly with TransUnion, not because Ally corrected their own error. That negative mark sat on my credit report for years before it finally fell off, years of damage caused entirely by their mistake, not mine, and years they refused to fix even with proof in hand.
I paid this vehicle loan off in full in 2020. Ally never sent me the title or a lien release. I only discovered this in 2026, when I tried to sell the vehicle and went to my county clerk's office to get the title, only to be told Ally still shows as an active lienholder, six years after payoff.
Since then, resolving this has been a masterclass in dysfunction. I've called repeatedly and been told multiple times, by multiple representatives, that a lien release letter had already been faxed to the county clerk. It hadn't. When it finally was sent, it wasn't even signed or notarized, and the county clerk's office rejected it outright. Representatives have refused to provide their full names. Not one has been willing to send written confirmation of anything they've told me on the phone. I've been disconnected mid-transfer and had to start over. There is no way to reach anyone beyond the general call center, no direct line to a manager, no email for the title department, nothing.
This isn't a one-time mistake. It's a pattern spanning close to a decade: a payment error they refused to fix even with documented proof, followed by a six-year failure to release a lien, compounded by repeated false assurances and a complete lack of accountability from front-line staff who won't even give their names.
If you have any other option for financing a vehicle, take it. Once something goes wrong with Ally, there is no real path to get it fixed without extraordinary, repeated effort on your part.
I have been trying to sell my car and…
I have been trying to sell my car and needed a lien release letter as part of the sale. The state requires loan origination dates and loan amounts to be indicated in the lien release. When I received the lien release letter, this information was not included. When I called back, they refused to send me a revised lien letter with this information. They only said they could send a lien contract to attach. I cannot sell my car because of this. Supervisors were reluctant to get involved and the customer service is unbelievably shady and hard to communicate with.

A family member told me about this Bank back so I applied and got approved for a savings account and then they shut it down and penalize me because someone got into my account I've never had that happen to me before so one year later I tried again it was the same lady who laughed over the phone telling me I can't get my account back so I asked to speak to someone above her and the person above her I tried to explain the situation to try to tell me that Bank of America would do the same thing to me I started laughing because I told them I have Bank of America and this is never happened to me their customer service is very weird

I made over 4500 worth of payment on my truck. and they never pressed the money. towards my account. they said they never received. They had signed for the check on because I sent them through Fed X where there had to sign for. I called several to get this fix and nothing is done. I been 4 months already. I goanna get a lawyer sue people for theft. They refuse to help and do anything on their end to help find this money, that one of their employees signed for on delivery. I don't understand how 4500 dollars just disappears. And these people think that its no big deal. Ive been told several times that s supervisor would call me that never happened. I sent documentation showing that the payment was sent to their facility and signed for but still can't get no cooperation. . Now I have Pay a lawyer to get my Money back and my credit repaired
Service is poor
Worst lender ever
Worst lender ever, need some advice for my vehicle. Did multiples calls it’s over a week. No response, still waiting. Useless agents, they said I need the call the number and it’s start all good and then tells you they can’t not speak to you at the moment.
interest and finance charges accrued when your check is in the mail.
This company charges interest and finance charges when you have sent a check to this company and it sits in their post office box for an approximately a week to 10 days. I am so frustrated with them. I will never recommend them to anyone or use them again. All of their representatives hardly speak English. I am so frustrated with them. I will never recommend them to anyone or use them again. All of their representatives hardly speak English at all. I was never able to talk to a supervisor. This is a red flag for me. Do not ever use them for any financial situations.
I honestly do not know where to start
I honestly do not know where to start. Run as fast as you can from dealing with Ally Auto. We paid our vehicle off and it took forever to get the title. Every time we called they gave us an excuse. Every time we asked to be transferred to a manager the phone automatically hung up. They have very bad customer service.
Their customer service is suspect
Their customer service is suspect. Mom and I have tried to add our 18-year-old twins to one of our 5 established checking accounts. Ally quickly accepted my daughter as a joint owner of an account, but then started playing games with my son... asking for additional information, upon getting it, asking for more additional information, etc., etc. This went on for several months, going back and forth, and each time they'd say, "that's all we need, and it should get approved in 5-7 business days." Today, they made a final determination: "Michael (me, the dad), after reviewing your application, we determined we can't add you as an owner or approve you as an authorized signer on an Ally Bank account right now. Here's why:
Your co-applicant doesn't meet our minimum qualifications." Not only are they not allowing my equally qualified son (as compared to his twin sister), but they're telling me (Michael) I can't be added or authorized as a signer on any Ally Bank account. What a joke... I've 5 checking accounts and 4 savings accounts with Ally now for the past dozen or so years. If it wasn't such an enormous hassle to move my accounts, set up auto-pays and auto-deposits, new cards, etc., to another bank, I'd have done it already. Of course I've called them numerous times to complain, and guess what? They will not let you talk to the department that's messing with us. They've got some vindictive folks over there.
