May not always be the cheapest but reliable in terms of quality and service. Quality parts, accurate descriptions and a willingness to respond to queries or problems. Personal care and attention which is sometimes sadly lacking in other on line retailers. Recommended.

I looked for advice via contact us. Craig responded quickly and in detail (see the response below). My second query (after amending order), was done over the telephone. Superb service, friendly, knows his onions, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile so you get what you want. The pickup bobbins were made to match existing DP100 as were the poles. The German Silver pickup cover was fitted for me too. This was OFFERED should I ever want to remove the covers for a different look. Customer Service!!!

All the products I bought were excellent quality, they really were and the pickup is awesome it has some power and sweetness too. I am thinking of building a guitar for my son eventually when he cracks on with his playing and I will be back to Axesrus for parts. Continue below for the first reply I had from Craig............

I wager we’ve got something you’ll like.

I think your on the right lines going for something just a little more “traditional” if you’re wanting it for chords and such (i love a Super Distortion – and i know plenty of lads who play the things in necks – but they aren’t a rhythm pickup (great lead pickup for creamy neck tones – but too big and boomy if you’re trying to rattle out chords!)

BUT – lets not throw the baby out with the bath water when we’re talking Heat and aggression just yet – i wager you’re not exactly wanting 70s rock/metal in the bridge, BB king blues and jazz in the neck right?

Lets start with something thats fitting that “little brother” mould for the DP100.

The Model 24 is very much in the ball park – not as hot, not as bottom heavy – will give you a nice hot rock setup (although, honestly, it wouldn’t be my first choice for chords and such – but its worth a listen all the same, gives you a good jumping off point)

Now for me, if i want one guitar, no messing about and changing when i’m playing at home – i’d go a little cooler, a little more musical, but still either enough guts to handle itself if i ever want to crank it.

So with that in mind, have a look at The Purist.

Fantastic pickup – its been designed to really cover a wide range of stuff, with a focus on rock, but without losing that musical aspect you want from a guitar. It’ll do chords with the best of them, it’ll handle itself very well as a creamy lead pickup, it’ll crunch up really well, it’ll clean up (heck, its not a million miles away from a good jazz tone if you keep it super clean!)

Make sure you click on the “want to go custom” text too – it’ll open up loads of extra options – can get it with different covers etc. Really make it your own.

I've just completed a custom build guitar and the majority of items used were purchased through Axesrus. The variety was great, and there was plenty of information on the website about the items I was after, which cleared up a lot of my questions before ordering.
