Buying a bike from this company was a pleasure and they were very good at keeping me updated with emails at every step of the way.

Installed new GRX groupset - issues: used wrong size bolts for front callipers with multiple washers - brakes screeching. Took 3 weeks from purchase of gear. Was expensive inc. the gear so would have liked it to be top of list (not like I didn’t book it in) and better planned. The gear is clicky so I’m not sure it’s all aligned. An average installation.

Great service especially on initial visit to look at bikes, answered all my queries, patient, gave good advice. Went above and beyond!

Terrible customer service

Terrible service and poor communication.

Tried getting the gears on my bike serviced.

Took it in, adhoc, last weekend and was asked to bring it back on a booked appointment slot. Booked it in for Thursday and dropped the bike off Wednesday evening so they had it ready.

Total waste of time, it’s now Saturday evening and they still haven’t even looked at it.

I tried calling and was promised a call back, then ghosted.

Tried their chat function but apparently they can’t help and I’d be best called the shop.

Basically made to feel like it’s my fault for actually wanting a good service.

Told today in the shop that it can be a “couple of days”, when I pointed out it was now 3 days. This was revised to 5-7 days!

Left a very nasty taste in my mouth having tried to be loyal and shop locally for bike accessories rather than just ordering online at a lower cost from EBay or Amazon.

I you need a service and you rely on your bike, I’d try somewhere else. It’s what I’m now forced to do.

No delivery a week passed due time. Chased Balfes who admitted a very common component (a shifter cable), was not available. Agreed to delete this item as the other purchase - a saddle bag was urgently needed. This item eventually arrived nearly a week later. Apart from the prompt refund, not a satisfactory service. Communication could be better.

I had a great experience at Balfs Bike last weekend. I walked in needing some help as I couldn’t get my tyres pumped up properly, and the service was incredibly quick, friendly and helpful. They had me sorted in under an hour!
I’ll always come back here for my bike needs. It’s where I originally bought my bike, and I’ve always received the best quality service. Highly recommend! 🚴‍♀️

They took my order on 9th Sept.
I don't hear anything and query this on 27th Sept.
They don't have the stock. Informed it should be 2nd Oct. Checked today and it's now expected on 9th Oct.
No communication from them. I asked and they said they can't keep customers informed and they have to go on chat to check everytime...
Chatbot to cancel order it asks for cancellation reason, I input a sentence and submit to get an error message saying incorrect email address, which it does not ask for...
I entered my email into the cancellation reason and it submitted but said I need to talk to an agent.

Such a waste of my time and they're quick enough to take my money!
Never shopping with again!!

I ordered a bike online for my son’s 16th birthday. The bike arrived in the Sutton store on time and the lovely guys there assembled the bike for me on the same day so that it would be ready for my son’s birthday. I’m so grateful for their service. Thank you all- would definitely recommend!
