Used their Helmsley filling station

Used their Helmsley filling station. I have arthritis in my knees & didn't eant to go back to the car to sort the chnage out. Got really good help from the staff. Will go out of my way to use them again.

First visit, will definitely be back.

Just moved to the area so first visit, great store with lots to offer, pet food, farm feeds and products, bird seed, lots of gifts not the usual stuff. Really good garden centre, well stocked and looks lovely. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Cafe has a nice though small menu. Cashier was really helpful and everyone was cheerful. We came away with much more than expected and just had a very pleasant vibe from the place.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE, i worked for thins organisation under a contract and they trat me like a zero hours employee if thet cant be bothered they tell you not to work and you dont get paid.

Agressive and ignorant driver

WAs driving out of Malton between 4.30 and 5pm yesterday. Was followed by an aggressive driver in one of your vehicles who insisted on tailgating me and blowing his horn repeatedly. I couldn't go anywhere due to volume of traffic. I hope this person isn't a typical standard of employee

Excellent in every way

We misguaged our oil usage in this very cold spell and suddenly we were empty. BATA who usually supply us could only manage to deliver in 7+ days. I explained my wife was going through cancer treatment and we were desperate. They said they would try but due to staff shortages for deliveries, they couldn’t guarantee anything.

We turned the heating and hot water off, and huddled around the AGA and gas fire. The next afternoon there was a knock at the door and delivery driver Simon said he knew we were desperate and he had an extra 200 litres on board as someone had over ordered. What an angel! He said this should get us through until the main delivery arrived, which it did 2 days later.

Thank you, thank you BATA for listening to our woes and coming up trumps! Excellent service.

Disgraceful attitude to customers concerns

This company's customer service an absolute disgrace. I approached them for a gas supply contract as I have no heating and was advised they would come to inspect the next morning and then telephone me. After a week I had heard nothing so telephoned to find out why. I spoke to a Kevin Hebblewhite who was the original contact. He waffled about why he had not come as promised but said he would come the next day. I received a call later the next day with various 'excuses' as to why the gas tank could not be sited in the rear garden but they could bury one in my front garden if I hired a digger & driver to excavate the hole at my expense. These 'excuses' ranged from, 1. 'no clear line of site to the tank in the rear garden', which is just not true. 2. 'The delivery lorry would obstruct your nieghbours drive'. I pointed out that my neighbour does not drive and if the tank was buried in the front garden the delivery lorry would be parking there anyway. 3, 'Rules and regulations might change on the siting of tanks in the future'. As he continued to waffle with spurious reasons I thanked him and terminated the call with no clear reason as to why I could not have a tank installed. I telephoned BATA to complain and asked for a contact name. I was given Mike Latham who I emailed a complaint to along with Google satellite images showing the clear line of site to the proposed tank at my property and 7 other properties around me showing tanks situated behind their houses and garages. I received a reply the next day stating that he 'would investigate and come back to me in due course'. That was over 2 weeks ago and I have heard NOTHING! Winter is coming and as a pensioner I am concerned about keeping warm in the coming months. Clearly BATA has no concerns at all.

We fully understand your concerns regarding the installation of an LPG tank, especially with winter approaching, and we regret that we were not able to meet your expectations. After our initial visit, Mr. Hebblewhite, who has over 30 years of experience in the LPG industry, felt that the proposed location for the tank might not be safe. To ensure we provided the best and most thorough assessment, we revisited your property and consulted both the UKLPG trade body and an independent LPG consultant. Safety is always our top priority, and we won’t make any compromises in that regard.

Because of this, we’ve offered alternative fuel solutions and provided contact details for other suppliers, should you wish to explore different options.

I placed a order on the 22 September and still not received it or any contact about this even though it's past the delivery date given

Unfortunately, as discussed via email throughout the process, our supplier repeatedly changed the date of when new stock for your order would be reaching them, which was relayed to you following every update. We can only apologise for these unexpected delays and the confusion that they caused. The order has since been cancelled and a full refund issued.

I received excellent customer service…

I received excellent customer service from BATA’s Emily Stevens when I recently ordered a pair of boots. Prior to purchasing the boots, I checked Trust Pilot for reviews on BATA, which were all very positive. I chased the order when they hadn’t arrived as expected, so Emily investigated for me. The courier had deliver to the wrong address where they were signed for and received, despite the address label clearly indicating a different business just around the corner. The incorrect recipient then just held on to the package for a week when they could have easily phoned or taken a three minute walk to drop them off - honestly what’s WRONG with people?! Thanks to Emily, I have now collected the boots. I’m very grateful for her kind assistance.

BATA are a National treasure…

BATA are a kind of National treasure which others should aspire too.
Not always cheapest but with friendly knowledgeable staff and great in house delivery for farm feed and hardware plus vital fuels and more they really should be close to first choice for every rural dweller in their area.
All that plus several well stocked local warehouse stores where you can easily pickup bits and pieces between any big deliveries.

The customer service from this company…

The customer service from this company is exceptional and I cannot believe that I am the first person to write a review for them.
After moving into a new house with a bulk LPG tank, Boiler and Commercial Cooker installed the boiler broke down and the cooker would not work either. We were already signed up as a new customer with Avanti Gas who not only filled our tank with £600 worth of gas but then promptly disconnected the tank because they said the pipework was illegal. (The same pipework that they had inspected 3 times in the last 10 years and passed every time!
Luckily we were within out 14 day cooling off period so we cancelled our contract and refused to pay for the gas that they had denied us access to.
One phone call to Chris at Bata and he not only listened intently but offered to visit site free of charge to understand our situation. Arrived promptly, did a full site survey, then went away to find a solution.
Rang back to say if we could excavate the pipe he would send someone to replace the section that was non compliant.
Two days later fully reconnected, a courtesy call to make sore everything was OK and even offered to help us find a contractor to fix the boiler.
Needless to say we swapped suppliers to BATA without hesitation and having just received another courtesy call to check that we have plenty of gas I can honestly say these are smashing people to deal with. If you are currently with Avanti Gas I strongly suggest you swap suppliers as soon as your contract allows because you should not have to deal with the ignorance and arrogance of Avanti Employees
