Bateman Skips Avis 

DO NOT USE! I would score a 0 if at all possible!
We have used Batemans for skip hire for many years, most recently we have had 4 skips for a building project. One was delivered late holding up our build, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again. This was a HUGE mistake, we off hired the slip and they said it would take a couple of days to collect due to a back log, 11 days later and we are still waiting, each day we are told the next day and nothing happens. Appalling company, avoid at all costs.

Placed order for a skip on Thursday, arrived following Tuesday. Booked collection 2 days later, no collection. After many phone calls (they are "very busy") finally collected 16 days later. Skip was collected at 5:30am in residential area, centre of Bath. Thanks for disturbing everyone at such an unsociable time!

Took over 5 weeks post pick up date and 5 phone calls to get them to pick the skip up which held up building works. Damaged the driveway when they eventually picked it up due to careless loading. Go elsewhere

Rude staff and inconsiderate. They continued to move the delivery date time and time again. When the skip was dropped off the driver was rude, he’s lucky I didn’t drag him out of the vehicle. Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give zero stars I would!!!!!!

5:20 am on a tightly packed residential street in the centre of the city is not a time to noisily collect a skip! Please pick sociable hours to run your business.

If you want a skip picked up on time DO NOT go with this company!!
Good price, shame about delivery and particularly collection. Delivered a day late which I can cope with but now 10 days late in collection. Space is needed for building supplies which I've had to hoist over the wall instead.
Called every day to be constantly fobbed off by robot lady on reception, computer issues, Bank Holiday (11 days ago!), blah blah blah. Her attitude stinks, not apologetic at all. Based on poor collection reviews well before last May Bank Holiday it seems this is nothing new... Really don't bother with them!

Our skip, while promptly delivered, has now gone 4 weeks beyond the original collection date.
We have been ringing, as advised by the call handlers, 1-2 x day only to always be told "it is exceptionally busy" (i.e. they overbooked themselves and can't handle the demand), there have been sickness and "unexpected events". The call handlers can't check the routing and can't connect you to the person in charge of the routing (yes, there is only one and they are 'sick today'), or give you a confirmation of a pick up date. We are asked to call back at 4.30pm to make sure that the skip goes on to the routing list, only to be told to ring again at 7.30am to see if the skip made it on to this day's pick ups (invariably not). Multiple requests to speak to or get a call/email back from a manager were acknowledged but never acted on because "the managers are very busy". The skip is now holding up further work.
We are being told that "this is not usual for the company" but quite clearly, looking at previous review, it is.
I would strongly discourage anyone from ordering a skip from Batemans, or if they do, expect unreasonable delays and appalling communication/customer service.
I requested a partial refund but naturally have not heard a word back...

Ordered skip to arrive 26/5 and be collected 30/5. When it wasn’t collected I contacted Bateman and arranged an exchange for 2/6/23. 2/6/23 16:00 called Bateman as still have a full skip sat on the drive and they told me new skip not arriving until 5/6/23 / 6/6/23 - when you dare to question the service you get talked to like you’re the idiot. Still only cost just short of £600 - requested a refund we’ll see what headache that will be.

Wait 2 days for a skip to then have to cancel due to not receiving one.
Absolute waste of time and waiting for my refund.
Do not rely on this company. You get fobbed off and just messes up your schedule. Use another company!

Ordered a skip for a week. Delivered promptly so initially pleased with the service. However, it’s now three weeks later and the skip remains on my drive. Despite many requests to pick it up, I keep getting excuses (driver was unable to make it, lorry has a technical issue etc). Every morning come down to find someone has thrown additional items in the skip, and access remains reduced to the house. Very frustrating.

Would have given ‘no stars’ if possible. We have now been asking for our skip to be collected for four weeks and nothing. We cannot progress any further works and it is now seriously limiting access. No real response given by Batemans for the delay. If you want your full skip taken away, then do not use this company as they will not come and collect it however many times you ask them to. Awful service.

If you want a fantastic, reliable skip company, look no further! I have used Bateman skips twice and will continue to do so whenever the need arises. They are courteous, timely, exceptional value, responsive, the list is endless.

Bateman skip driver going too fast and using his mobile phone whilst driving past my house to deliver in Limpley Stoke near Bath. Smashed bins and left rubbish all over the road. It could have been a child he hit because he wasn’t watching what he was doing in a lorry - disgraceful behaviour, totally indifferent to the consequences and he was breaking the law. Requested skip be kept for a longer period and would call when full and ready for collection. Without any contact or warning skip was collected when half full. When calling Batemans to ask why this had happened was spoken to in a patronising, belittling and rude way, would never use again.

They asked what time they could deliver from, I said after 8am. The guy turned up at 6.30am and woke everyone up! Ridiculously early for a residential property.

I’ve now chased them 3 times about collecting it and keep being told someone is coming but they never turn up so I’ve got an ugly skip taking up my driveway and blowing debris around during high winds.

Easy to use booking form on website, that also gives good clear info on skip sizing. Delivered and collected as scheduled with no fuss. Prices really competitive too.
Highly recommended.

Delayed skip upon first agreed time. When collecting the full skip the operator damaged my house as the skip swung and took a large chunk of stone from the bay window. Operator did let me know, attempted multiple times by call and email to talk to a manager about it and was never responded too. Pretty disgraceful really.

Friendly and efficient staff who do what they say they are going to do and when they are going to do it. An outstanding service.
