Using Birchall Blackburn as our solicitors for buying a home was simple and easy. Kate made sure that we understood everything and responded quickly to any queries. We were updated without even asking for updates and we were never left waiting for her to complete something.

We recently used services of Birchall Blackburn Law to purchase a property. It was a long process but we got it completed in the end. Thanks to Karen Williams and Louise Moore who helped us in our purchase.

This is a real review, so please don’t remove it like you did last time.
I have been trying to purchase a freehold property which had no chain at any point six months ago and am still nowhere near completing.
From the start we have had to phone & chase repeatedly with minimal responses throughout. We had to find the name of a lease company because you had the spelling of it incorrect and couldn't find it. We have had to pay extra for a variation and now find out that our contact with you has gone on maternity leave, leaving colleagues to start again/review her workload and finding out ANOTHER variation is needed.
This is not acceptable in any way and you should be ashamed of your woeful practice.
I would advise anyone thinking of using you to avoid you at all costs.

My recent experience with this firm was very poor and I would not recommend.
There was a total lack of any communication, emails were frequently missed and myself and my estate agent had to constantly chase for updates.
Upon my final invoice they missed adding my estate agent fees. My estate agent twice sent them their invoice which they claimed they did not receive which was a blatant lie. They then made out to my estate agent that I had discussed with them that I would pay the estate agent direct which was a further lie.
Reviews appear to follow a theme of poor communication and correspondence and I would not trust this firm to act for me in the future.

Used Birchall Blackburn 3times now. Always pleased with the support, updates and prompt completion of paperwork. Karen and Louise were great and very approachable . Highly recommend this company

Very Disappointing Service

Extremely poor experience with this conveyancing firm. The level of incompetence and lack of communication throughout the process was incredibly frustrating.

Emails were repeatedly ignored, responses were either non-existent or took far too long, and there appeared to be very little regard for the seller or the importance of keeping the transaction moving. Communication is fundamental in conveyancing, yet this firm consistently failed to provide even the most basic level of customer service.

What makes the experience even more concerning is that 15% of their reviews are rated just 1 star. Unfortunately, based on my own experience, I can understand why.

I would strongly recommend doing thorough research before instructing this firm. Buying or selling a property is stressful enough without having to constantly chase your own conveyancer for updates and answers.

We have used Birchall Blackburn Law for buying our first property. Ben was very quick to respond, very thorough with his response and explanations regarding the process and tried to make the process as efficient as possible. We would highly recommend them.

If l could give 0 stars l would and l dont even usually write review but God this company is awful.
We are currently in the process of buying our 1st home, and they act for the sellers. It is a 2 people chain, the onwards purchase for my seller is a vacant home.
Everything queries we raised took at least 3 weeks to be answered. We have managed to push until we are so close to exchange.
My solicitor have sent 3 emails so far to chase for an exchange date, 0 reply from birchball.
The estate agent has sent 3 emails chasing, 0 reply.
The sellers have sent 5 emails chasing, you guessed it. 0 reply
Estate agent and sellers have both called. No answer.
Their communication is shockingly bad, close to non- existant.
We were hoping to have moved by the start of school as our kids are now registered to the local schools but it looks like it will never actually happen.
They are horrendous as lawyer.
Please save yourself stress and look for another company

Had a really good experience for the sale and purchase of our house. Michelle and Chloe were really responsive and answered all our questions, any issues were resolved promptly and it made buying and selling a house as easy as it can be!

Been dealing with the Manchester office, or rather NOT dealing with. Not bothered to contact us. Should have been a very simple sale but taken 5 months and now mortgage offer is about to expire and house sale fall through. Lots of 'extra charges' for unnecessary things. Avoid!!

Avoid, avoid, avoid, couldn't complete the simplest of no chain house sales before a Mortgage Offer expired (literally months) DO NOT USE.

It’s stressful buying a house well that’s what I thought or was told but with birchall Blackburn they were amazing especially shuma I had no issues with her nothing was a problem all paperwork was sent to you they checked it over once signed before you send it absolutely brilliant 11 out of 10 from me I would recommend them to anyone if you had any issues you could email them or phone them and they sort it straight away which I loved really good and value for money

If I could give this solicitor zero star I would! They do not respond to emails or telephone calls from our solicitor, which is causing a delay in the sale of our house. Takes them 3 weeks to reply to simple emails and requests. Awful service.

Please avoid if you can and do not use!
