Not sure why this business exists.

Costco is much, much better. Sam's is much better. BJ' s a miniature, under stocked version of Sam's Club.

Was o.k. when they imported workers from all over the country for the grand opening. Yes, it was a small store with a relatively small selection of product, but the enthusiasm of employees was contagious. But now, zombies from "Night of the Living Dead" move faster than the employees of this miserable location.

Positives: plenty of parking, store is empty on weekends. They had some really good deals when they first opened.

Negatives: checkout lines are long and painfully slow (one human checkout lane open, self check outs don't work because everyone is "waiting for assistance"... that never arrives. Then customers move over to the long human checkout line. There is no assistance. Not one single employee there to assist, so none of the self checkouts were working. There was an employee that stood there for 15-20 minutes, observing that none of the self checkouts were working, and frantically radioed numerous times that that assistance was needed in self check out. Why he couldn't help anybody in the checkout lanes himself is beyond me. Maybe they have too many managers.
Then there are coupons. I tried. I'm not interested in using coupons.

I'm not sure why this store even exists. Smaller selection than Costco or Sam's. Prices the same or higher than Costco or Sam's. Worst of all, when you're done shopping and just want to check out and leave... they won't let you, you have to wait and wait and wait.

I'm going to end my current $20 membership and stop future renewals. BJ's membership is a bargain compared to other warehouse stores and the store is closer to my house. But, the lack of selection, painfully slow disorganized checkout process and having to clip coupons make ending my membership a very easy decision.

FRAUD

They renewed my membership even though I canceled it months ago. Cant get a hold of anyone that knows anything.... they just hope you give up I'm sure. I hope they get sued for this business practice. How is this not THEFT, taking money from my account without my permission?

Abuso al trabajador y Racismo

Hola yo Trabajador de la Empresa BJ’s de la Tienda #0111 En el tiempo de training QC el trabajo a sido lo más malo que puedas ver cuyo trabajo o pocision no coincide yo e reclamado sobre el abuso porque es un abuso tengo que coger un pallet alado con el pallet yak toda la tienda buscando mercancía habiendo pallet yak eléctrico pero no me toca como dise José el Manager de la tienda. Cuánto pesa es justo no y como dice ese es el trabajo no creo que los propietarios tengan conocimiento de la forma de trabajo que implanta la tienda a los trabajadores es abuso de poder y tengo prueba esa persona que está dirigiendo la tienda creo que deben cuestionarlo y sustituirlo por el abuso de poder no tiene ética como líder en un colectivo de trabajadores. BJ's LIES!!!

Just got off the phone with a BJ's rep. Bought into their membership in December with the understanding that my year of membership would not start until the Brooksville store opened. We even got the BJ's Mastercard. Today is the middle of February and the store still is not open and I discovered online that our membership was to renew on Dec 1, 2025. 2 1/2 months of wasted membership.
So I called and they would not adjust that date so I cancelled membership and supposedly am going to get a refund. Then I had to cancel the BJ's Mastercard. What a pain. So, anyone who opted to start a BJ's membership probably should check to see when yours renews. BJ"S IS A SCAM!!!

Go somewhere else

For weeks the employee at the Ocean Twp, NJ BJ's Wholesale Club stated that the propane was down so I called the manager, and he said he never heard that, and he would check. I spoke to another worker, and he said it was fine, it was never down. So obviously the guy with a beard and piercings didn't want to fill bottles. I went there and he filled my cylinders, and several seemed light and the ones with gauges showed that they were not filled all the way. He said that there is a problem with the gauges. I took them to the propane company 1 block away and they checked the weight and gauges and said that they were all not filled all the way and the ones without gauges were ½ filled and the gauges were fine. DO NOT GO THERE...if you are close to Ocean Twp, go to Seaboard on Kings Hwy. They refilled my cylinders for free.

Terrible Customer service I loathe…

Terrible Customer service I loathe having to shop at BJs, Madison Heights, MI specifically I will never shop or renew my membership here. The shelves are empty, customer service is horrible, sounds trivial but the drink machine never works, always out of food at the hot food counter. Its just not shopper friendly. Did I mention the customer service....didnt particularly care for my experience here today.yuck!

new invasive rewards policy

new policy need drivers license to use rewards dollars, the club supposedly changed their policy on using rewards. I need my membership to make a purchase and now also need a drivers license to actually use rewards I earned. I have complained and nobody cares this is just another inconvenience put on the member, bad enough there is rarely any registers open except the self checkout. I get emails saying they escalated to higher management and weeks later no call e-mail or anything because management does not care

I would’ve given zero stars if I could have. I bought a pair of pants in November 2024. I did not wear them for the first time until December. I washed them, and the fabric had tiny balls essentially all over the leggings. They looked absolutely horrible! There is no way I was going to wear them again. Christmas time came and went, and I was extremely busy. I went today to return them and was told that they would not return my money because I did not have the tags, and also because they had been washed. I know they were only $17 but it is the principle. So essentially I paid $17 to wear a pair of pants one time. I asked to speak to the manager, and she told me no. So I asked to speak to someone above her. They finally said that they would give me my money back. However, next time I need to make sure I keep the tags and not wash them.How the heck am I supposed to know how they’re gonna look if I don’t wash them??? Very poor customer service especially when I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars there. Also, I have never returned anything there before. My suggestion to anyone… Don’t buy any clothes there!

bjs is the only store that charges full retail tax on a sale item

bjs is the only store that charges full tax on the retail price of a item and not the selling price. plus there is no tax added to delivery charges yet they do that to. either they are pocketing the difference. this is the worrst consumer policy for a major retailer who just wants to squeeze evey penny from you.

A new fee’.

Congratulations BJ’s you figured out a new way to force customers to spend more money.
Now, in addition to buying the subscription and paying an extra $50.00 for “free” delivery Some genius decided you must spend over $60 or pay a delivery fee.. isn’t that great! A new way to make more money. These clubs are not worth the cost anymore. I’d give it a zero but it only goes to 1.

Careful with gift cards

I purchased gift cards through this website after verifying it’s reputable. While I might have saved a little money, I made up for it in wasted time and undue stress. After spending an hour and half at the store I purchased the cards for, I learned they were not valid and had no money associated. I immediately reached out to customer care and spent another 20+ minutes back and forth on chat. Then had to provide more info. I did receive an email later that day saying cards are now activated. No apology or anything. I had to call and verify each card before making another trip to store and save myself embarrassment of hassle again. I will report they are showing a balance on them now. So if you want to save $50 buy spend 2 hours fixing it all in order to use them, then this site is for you. I will not be utilizing these website in future. It may have been a one time mistake, but how would one know when the company never really gave a reason as to what happened, offered apology or any future discount/gift for time and trouble. Best of luck!

The app is a joke

The app is a joke, pages freeze constantly, page doesn't open, page only half loads, or descriptions and photos of item's never load, plus log on can take up to a minute to load while staring at a red check mark ! How can a shopping app be so bad in the age of life-saving A.I. ?
Three weeks later! Notice how the negative reviews get one star :(
But the "BJs is the super best store ever" gets four and five stars :) Trustpilot !

BJ's tire center

In September I joined BJ's wholesale club in Elsmere, Delaware for the express purpose of purchasing new tires for my girlfriend's car, a 2017 Hyundai with 36000 miles on it. These tires were replacing the original tires. 1 month later as I was washing the car I noticed that all 4 wheels were damaged in the exact same way. I returned to the store to lodge a complaint with the store manager. He showed me the work order I signed which gives them permission to do the install, but also pointed out a check mark next to wheels damaged on the paper. (I was not given a copy of that paper) He told me he would check into it. Another month past without the manager getting back to me. I returned to the store and this time I spoke with the store manager and the club manager. The club manager inspected the damage and assured me he would get back to me. It has now been 3 months. I ask, how long should this process take? The expectation is that when you take your vehicle in for repairs you get it back in better condition than when you dropped it off for the repairs. This kind of treatment is unexceptable for any business.

Terrible

Hello, I ate at the restaurant on Beach in Westminster/Huntington Beach yesterday and it was the slowest service I've ever had. It took 20 minutes for them to take my order. We had to keep asking and reminding them for refills. The food was cold. The servers were not nice. They forgot to order our pazookie so that took 30 minutes to get our pazookie. The manager was not helpful at all. I will not be returning. Also, I've been there when it's been way busier and got way better and faster service. It was not busy, it was 9pm last night.

Excellent service Manchester NH store

I had the best experience ever in the Optical Department. I had an eye exam and ended up needing glasses. Carrie the person that helped me through both exam and getting new frames worked part of her lunch break to help me. I never one felt rushed and knowing how important breaks are in retail I was so appreciative of her professionalism and patients with me. I have always been treated very well at the Manchester NH store and have been a member well over 10 years

shipping costs are so high there is no actual savings and of course many items are not shippable at all or not ebt eligible. Hate it.I only paid 20 for a years membership with a gift offer so im glad. I wont be using BJ (short for something I wont say) .

I MADE THE WORST MISTAKE SWITCHNG MY CLUB WAREHOUSE MEMBERSHIP!!!!!

This is the worst wholesale warehouse in Jacksonville Florida. Many of the store brand are very cheap products, I.e. Paper towels bathroom tissue. The store is not set up for easy shopping! Groceries are all over the place, one has to circle and circle until you find something you want to purchase. The in club express pay, is not user friendly and it does not allow you to retrieve a receipt after 24 hours. The hotdogs and pretzels at the snack bar are NOT TASTY! They are horrible. The delivery service is SLOW!! The only good thing I can say about BJ's Wholesale Club, is the gasoline pricing!!! I have to go back to Sam’s Club!!! They have an awesome way to skip the line, I can retrieve my in store receipt at anytime!!! Their hotdogs and pretzels are THE VERY BEST!! Their store brand paper towels and bathroom tissue at the very BEST!!!
