Harry was amazing! His knowledge is priceless, my Son was in need of some new walking boots, Harry took the time to understand his needs and gave great advice not just on the boots but recommended many other items for his trip we haven’t even thought about.

Joel seems to be an encyclopedia of boots, teaching me everything from the materials used, how to tie laces,how to care for shoes and even about socks! He was incredibly patient, encouraged me to try on multiple pairs and many sizes. All in all it was more like an enjoyable boot exhibit than a visit to a shop. I left with an amazing pair of boots at a discounted price.

UPDATE: After Eloise ordered the right size jacket for me from the website as you didn’t have it in store, I went home only to receive an email that my order was cancelled as you didn’t in fact have my size in stock. No automatic refund - I have to go back into store with my receipt to get my money back. I emailed the customer services address on the email to discuss only to receive a message that the inbox was no longer monitored. What rubbish service after a great experience in-store. Not happy.

I was looking for a new coat and Eloise appeared out of nowhere offering expert advice. Then, having found out what I was looking for, came back less than a minute later with a range of alternatives that fitted better, felt like they did the job better, and now I have a lovely new coat! Couldn’t ask for more.

Anastasiia in the Brighton store was excellent. She helped me decide on a pair of walking boots, with no hard-sell, just honest and practical advice. She was patient, attentive and had in-depth knowledge of the products. Really good service.

All staff were v helpful: I was buying a tent, and everyone I spoke to gave friendly and helpful advice on what was in stock, prices and deals (didn't get everyone's names, but Jess served me at the till). They were also v amenable in keeping a tent behind the counter for me to buy the next day, and recommending purchases to get the best advantages out existing offers.

In my humble opinion one of the best retailers on the high street, it may be the Brighton North st branch. But the staff, Eloise on this occasion are very helpful. Applying an additional discount on my already discounted walking boots.
I’m hoping that JD sports don’t interfere to much with the front of store business model as a keen walker Blacks had catered for hikers and walkers reasonably well. Where other so called outdoor stores just stock poor quality clothing.

Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of stock to choose from actually had shoes in stock!!! I'd been looking for new boots for ages and nowhere had anything in stock in my size. Soraya was kind, patient and knowledgeable. Can't fault the service. This store will be my go-to from now on.

Jess was really helpful when I came in to find a waterproof coat that was warm and windproof. Very professional and made sure that I was happy with the one I went for and also answered all my questions succinctly. Highly recommend going here before it shuts as they are all so helpful, polite and professional.
