Popped in too Blacks today and purchased a rab jacket, I must say Mike was brilliant in regards to customer service and having time to answer all my questions and giving me more info on the jacket I purchased.. First class service

Excellent service by knowledgeable and friendly folk! Mike sold my wife and I 2 pairs of hiking boots and his experience in the industry showed. Helpful tips and good product knowledge. He also served us last month when we bought our Daughter her first pair of hiking shoes too.

Called in to buy a new pair of Berghaus Goretex boots. Didn’t have my size in stock but I’ll probably order them for next week. Assistant offered me this pair of Salomon Goretex boots reduced from £160 to £54.38 - absolute bargain! Cheers guys!

Mike and Ellie were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the boots. So much so I bought a pair. It was great to have such good customer service.

Michael, the store supervisor, was absolutely brilliant on my visit to Blacks last Friday. I came in looking for a backpack and he was so knowledgable. He took the time to explain the different types of bags to me and all of their features, he then showed me the Yak Trax snow clips for my shoes and explained the different type of thermal clothing I could purchase. He was honestly great and really made the experience enjoyable and I feel a lot more knowlegdable now too! Thanks Michael!

We received some good advice on rucksacks suitable for D of E and bought two and asked which raincovers would be suitable. These were pointed out. I went back to get the raincovers, only to get it home to find the rucksack came with a raincover!! So it will be a trip back for a refund. Surely staff should have known that the rucksack came with its own raincover!!

I went into Blacks wanting some walking shoes, but wasn’t sure which ones I needed. Charlotte, the sales assistant gave me lots of advice on which were suitable. I used them today and I’m so glad I took Charlottes advice as my new walking shoes were fantastic!

Had a few issues trying to return a pair of faulty boots. Eventually after Millets online support guided me towards returning them to a store, Charlotte at the Junction 32 Castleford store was super helpful and arranged the refund and sorted me out with a pair of replacements. Professional friendly service. Much appreciated :)

Quality Service and Advice

My wife wanted new walking boots, so visited several retailers. Tom at Blacks in Castleford was very helpful in helping her select what she wanted, so we went back a few days later to make the purchase. Again Tom was a great help, also aided by Mike; between them they found the exact boots she wanted with the perfect fitting, and at a great price, so we ended up buying more items with the saving we'd made. Both very friendly and professional, they made the experience very pleasant and gave her confidence in what she was buying. Thankyou; we'll be back.

Went in with my family for a number of clothing items and boots. Dave and Elle were very helpful. Dave is very knowledgeable and advised and helped us to choose the correct clothing required for our trip. Elle helped us looking for our sizes, checking in the back stores also. Nothing was too much trouble. We had been in other stores such as Mountain Warehouse and Regatta and the staff had just been confusing with their advice and we had left with a headache. Dave and Elle made the experience pleasant. I would definately recommend Blacks at Castleford Freeport and we will be visited again.

Easy returns. Excellent advice. All staff really knowledgeable. Both Dave and the guy with ginger hair (sorry didn't get his name but also deserves credit) helped me massively.

I was beginning to give up hope of finding a pair of walking shoes having visited six stores at the outlet village. In Blacks I was approached by a sales assistant who asked me what I was looking for, what purpose the shoes would be used for and the price range I was looking at. The assistant knew her stock and I was delighted to find just what I was looking for. Sadly I do not know the assistants name. Possibly assistant 6/6
