Britbox used to be worthwhile but now it is a shadow of its former self. A lot of popular shows have simply vanished, and if you want to see anything new (their definition of that is sometimes 2013)... Voir plus

I have asked them 3 times to delete me credit card details after cancelling my account and they reply with it can take up to three months to do this . If anyone hacks my account they can restart the monthly subscription and buy monthly gift subscriptions to others . This is totally crazy . Do not sign up and pay using credit card . It’s too dangerous
Terrible app on almost all TVs
Terrible app on almost all TVs. Very unstable. One big issue is that you can't watch the credits. Like some other services, it defaults to skipping to the next episode. Unlike Netflix and others, however, you can't get it to show the credits. If you click the minimised screen (which is what Britbox tell you to do), it doesn't bring the credits back. If a programme still has content behind the credits, forget any attempt to see it. This happens on LG, Toshiba, Hitachi TVs. I haven't tried it on others, but I assume there is the same issue. It also only gives 5 seconds to make your choice, so even if it worked (which it doesn't), there isn't really time to tell it show the credits. Will be cancelling my subscription.

Took money out of my account after cancelling.
Contacted customer service via their website, only to get an email saying that their customer services are for those outside the UK, and that someone from the UK customer service dept will be in touch.
Nothing.
Every penny matters to me at the moment, hence why I cancelled my account. I don’t need extra stress and hassle because you can’t be arsed putting a robust system in place. Terrible service. Won’t be using again, that’s for certain.
Awful streaming service
Have no problems streaming content from Now tv, prime video, iplayer etc but Britbox is terrible. Programmes take ages to load and often tells me I’m not connected to internet when I am and programmes freeze and/or crash. Will cancel before next payment goes out. Advice is to up to date app but doesn’t help..

Sadly can’t give less than one star. I understand this is now run by ITV - no wonder BBC wanted to drop it. The content is pretty lame and when watching anything it frequently stops and sometimes even freezes. Won’t be continuing when free trial is over.

Britbox via my Amazon Prime…
I joined Britbox via my Amazon Prime account and discovered that over half the content that you get from Britbox direct doesn't show up. Their fix for this is to tell me to go on the Prime search box and type in what I am looking for! Only 8 categories show up on Prime when there are over double that on the Britbox website! How the heck do I know what I'm looking for if I don't know your content? I use Netflix and they show all their content so you can choose! Needless to say subscription is now cancelled and I won't try it again!

Stay away from Brit Box
Stay away from Brit Box. If you sign up for any of their promo plans and then late in canceling even by an hour, they will charge your credit card and will refuse to refund your payment. I suggest you either use Acorn or some other site for British shows or, sign up for a free plan and cancel the next day. You will still get your weeks worth of watching and the good thing, you can sign up again with a different email address and get another week for free. You can do this as many times as you want.

Worked for a short while. I had a full subscription for a couple of months then noticed it would play an episode then crash and wouldn't play anything else. Kept saying "not connected to the Internet" when all other apps were working fine. Too much messing around to get it working again so cancelled subscription.

Never works. It crashes and will hardly ever load on any TV. The people coding this should be sacked along with the people in charge!
Very frustrating on log in - virtually every time
Despite being a subscriber it constantly fails to recognise the one device we view through, causing a lengthy confirmation process. Wouldn’t continue with our subscription if it not for watching Hi De Hi!
APPALLING
I had an account with this company since it started. They then suddenly decided to tell me that my account had cancelled because they couldn't debit my card when I had funds. Their customer service staff were rude and uninterested and just told me that there mustn't have been monet in the account when there was. They later changed to saying it was because I hadn't entered my verified by Visa password which you don't do on recurring transactions. I checked with my bank and they hadn't even attempted to debit my account. I asked them to delete the account completely, then set up a new account, using a different card which had ample funds in and again, after the 7 day free trial, I got a message from them saying they couldn't debit my account. Again my bank confirmed no attempt had been made and that if they had attempted it, it would have been paid. I am leaving it cancelled this time as they are clearly not a very professional company.
Lost Annual Subscription
My daughter bought us Britbox on an annual plan as an anniversary gift. We saw shows for about a week. Then, every time we tried to access programs, nothing would play without a pay for viewing for each episode. This went on for months. Britbox told us we hadn't paid, and to start paying. We mentioned the anniversary gift subscription. They said they had no record of it. My daughter talked with them, and we were able to access Britbox programming again. Then, it stopped again. We contacted them in early November. It was the same run-around. They offered a one-month refund. The next day they rescinded it. Today, I found out they had been purchased by ITVX. We love the programming, (addicted), but not the customer service. I recommend customers seek other ways to get this programming. Als, don't get into a long-term subscription to protect your purse. We are considering ITVX which starts offering Brit programming in early December 2022.
