We cannot thank the team enough for their support throughout the purchase of our new home. They were proactive in keeping us updated every step of the way and were always available whenever we needed advice or reassurance. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.

Our purchase came about very suddenly through an auction, and we needed legal support at very short notice. The team immediately got involved, guided us through the process, and worked incredibly hard to meet the demanding timescales. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication made a potentially stressful situation much easier to manage.

Interviewed on 8th September and was told I would receive feedback. It’s now the 16th and I’ve had no update at all. Communication has been extremely poor, and it doesn’t leave a good impression of how the organization operates. Very unprofessional.

I did not have a good experience with this firm. I wanted a local solicitors and assumed I'd be in contact with the Guiseley branch, as it's on my doorstep. Instead I was assigned to the Bradford branch 10 miles away.

Right from the start, it was never clear who I was meant to be in contact with, as 3 individuals were working on my file and would all email me at different times. The company has a "7 working day" email policy meaning I would sometimes be waiting for over a week before I had a response. Sometimes it was even longer than 7 days. They rarely made any effort to reply to questions posed by my estate agent. Attempts I made to try and contact them urgently were always met with displeasure. It genuinely seemed like I was an inconvenience to them.

There was no communication about how things were progressing and when I finally started asking directly I was met with partial answers or buck passing.

The proof of funds procedure seemed ludicrously thorough, with me having to collate years and years of statements from different accounts and contact family members about identification as proof of the proceeds of a will. It really seemed like overkill. I also answered the same question multiple times or had to produce the same statements several times.

When I did go into the office, or on the rare occasion they actually answered the phone, they seemed pleasant enough. I think they were probably overstretched which resulted in not great service. The contracts I was sent to sign even had typos in the names, on 2 different contracts!

That said, as an organisation they are very thorough, the files I was sent were very professional and they left nothing to chance when obtaining all the necessary documents.

I have given 2 stars because the house sale did go through but it's not a ringing endorsement by any stretch.

Very easy and smooth process, kept up to date at all times with progress. Very helpful and answered any questions I had promptly, top service.

Everything has been sorted professionally.

I found a lack of communication the biggest issue, they can't even be bothered to keep your process up to date on their app.

I have recently sold a house using Chadwick Lawrence (Huddersfield Office) for conveyancing on behalf of our family, and had a very smooth, professional and successful experience for the complete duration of our Family House conveyancing.

Our Conveyancing Contact at Chadwick Lawrence was Kiona Raymond, and from the initial contact all the way through to completion of the house sale (Over 4 months), she was most attentive, articulate, thorough and very human which was very much appreciated. Queries were always responded to promptly, and I felt our solicitor was on the front foot, especially when compared to others in the property chain. There was support behind her as and when required, which was a real benefit of choosing a larger established firm of solicitors.

There is also a Chadwick Lawrence On-Line portal to help identify where ones house sale is in the selling process, and in the main this works. That said; one or two of the early Data input questionnaires are a little large, clunky and unforgiving, but they do source a vast amount of house related digital data, which is good.

The price we payed was effectively the automated price quoted from the very initial enquiry through their website. This was appreciated, and at the end of the selling process I felt we had had very good value for money, with all the costs completely transparent. Therefore without hesitation I would recommend Chadwick Lawrence and in particular Kiona Raymond to anyone in the Huddersfield area who requires a high quality and professional service for buying/selling their residential house/home.

Easy process. Not expensive compared to others.

Chadwick Lawrence completely failed to do their job in a transfer of equity process, leaving me attached to a loan I should no longer be responsible for, and have continued to fail to resolve it for months. My ex bought me out of a flat we owned together over a year ago, and they still have not properly completed the process. Complete negligence and incompetence throughout every single step of what should have been a simple process.

Not very good at keeping in contact

Thanks to Lynda Harland for sorting out my property sale. The buyer’s solicitors kept dragging their feet, but Lynda stayed on top of them and was always friendly, approachable, and kept me updated at every step.
Chadwick Lawrence offered great value for money, coming in much cheaper than local quotes I received. I would have no hesitation in using their services again in future.
