Nazmeen worked well with our property related transfer and got everything done as fast as was possible. Expedited with land registry so the onward purchase was as smooth as could be.

Extremely poor communication - never proactive, used legal jargon instead of explaining anything, never once answered the phone, took days to reply. Overall I strongly urge anyone buying a house to do more research than we did and to not to use Chadwick Lawrence. It seems the staff are overworked and don't like their jobs at all.

Our experience with Chadwick Lawrence has been incredibly disappointing and, at times, genuinely stressful. Purchasing a property is one of the biggest financial commitments most people will ever make, and unfortunately this firm has made the process significantly more difficult than it needed to be.

Communication has been consistently poor from the outset. We have received contradictory information from different members of staff, making it impossible to know what stage our purchase is actually at or who is responsible for our file. We were even allocated a new solicitor without being informed, leaving us to discover the change ourselves. The seller's lawyer nor estate agent were not informed of the change either.

The lack of attention to detail has been alarming. We were contacted in a rude and accusatory tone regarding documentation that we were later told had already been received. Rather than checking their own records first, the assumption was that we had failed to provide the required information. We have also had to resend documentation and repeat identity and source of funds, mortgage offer and other documentation and checks because information was either not logged correctly or had not been shared internally.

Most concerning is that we were repeatedly told that management packs and the contract documentation had not been received for over 20 days, despite both having already been sent to the firm. Different members of staff then contradicted each other by confirming that these documents had, in fact, been received. This poor file management caused unnecessary delays, resulted in difficult and upset communications with the seller, and ultimately jeopardised the sale. At a time when all parties should have been progressing matters, we instead found ourselves trying to resolve issues that should never have arisen.

Throughout the transaction we have spent far more time chasing updates than receiving them. It has often felt like we are managing the process ourselves rather than relying on experienced conveyancing professionals. There appears to be very little continuity within the team, making it difficult to know who is actually responsible for progressing the file.

Having since read other one-star reviews, it is disappointing to see that many of the same issues appear repeatedly: poor communication, inconsistent advice, delays, lack of ownership and clients having to constantly chase for updates. Sadly, our experience reflects those concerns almost exactly.

We are now at the point of seriously considering terminating our instructions and moving to another firm if there is not an immediate and significant improvement. I very rarely leave negative reviews, but prospective clients deserve to know what they may be signing up for.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend Chadwick Lawrence for conveyancing.

Very disappointing service from start to finish. Communication was poor, emails regularly went unanswered, and delays meant our mortgage offer was close to expiring. We ended up checking the legal paperwork ourselves and identified issues. Expensive, stressful and not a firm I would recommend.

Rhianne Harris and Kiona Raymond played a big part in getting it over the line. A far from standard conveyancing case, they helped us achieve what felt unachievable. We got a bit of concern from people in the estate agents over using an ‘online solicitor’ at first but they have disproven the theory that you must use a local firm entirely.
