Charnwood Machinery are now my go-to for tools and workshop equipment in the first instance. Starting with the purchase of a Lathe, following with accessories and other tools. I can not fault the quality of their tools and when advice was needed they were quick off the mark and a reply via email was prompt, clear and well informed. When I did have some small grievance they were quick to meet the issue positively in my favour and went above and beyond without question or argument a policy which is very hard to come by these days.

I was looking for a scroll saw and this appeared to offer a good deal for the money, and a flexible product. Worked well so far, and the take-off drive is a plus. Blades with the product are acceptable for 'fast' cutting (speed is relative!), but you'll definitely need others for more detailed scroll work. Simple ordering, arrived on time, well packaged, good instructions, and up and running quickly. Unusually I didn't do my normal deep research of all possibilities out there before purchase. Only issue I have is how fiddly attaching flat end blades is when inserting through a drilled hole for close internal cutting - this makes the fitting guide less helpful, as it's necessary to unfasten one end to feed it through the work, then refit it, doing the hex screw up once the blade is through the wood - I'm assuming there are easier systems on more expensive saws, but it still feels like good value for the money.
