Very efficient service from start to finish. Mark the fitter.arrived within the time frame was very courteous and efficient. Within no time the work was completed, giving my husband the advice not to drive for at least 30mins. From the 1st phone call to the work being completed all staff were very competent. A good price for a job well done, will recommend to friends.

Great service from chips ahoy, saved my hundreds on other quotes and service completed next day by the technician who completed it with 45 mins and even cleaned up everything after. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back if I ever need another repair or replacement.

Put a quote in online and within 5 minutes Anthony called to go over my requirement's, he advised a fitter would be able to attended the next day, Tom Howard (fitter) was polite, chill and extremely quick with the procedure, he was also able to come and do the replacement at my work which made the process so much more convinant, everyone from the team are super polite, would deffinetly recommend to any of my friends and family.

We booked in to have a rear driver side tinted window replaced of a neighbours car. This was an urgent requirement and chips ahoy offered a quick turnaround. Unfortunately an issue with supplier meant that an untinted window was delivered so the fitting date was put back - at this point they explained that the price would also need to go up as they had messed up the initial quote. This was not ideal but we were assured that the work would be completed on the revised date. On the date of fitting we received a call to say that our fitter was ill so they needed to cancel again! The only other option was for us to bring the car to them for the fitting - when we explained this would be very inconvenient due to work commitments, we were told ‘it’s not that far from you’. No offer of a reduction in fees due to the poor service. Avoid!

Called chips ahoy 26/8/25 for screen replacement staff very helpful on helping me get the right screen and gave me a price Which beat the other quotes 5 in total.Payed my deposit booked me in for next day.Mark the screen fitter called me to say one hour away as I was in Dover.When mark got to me he was professional at his job and explained what the job involved including auto wipers and lights sensors he made an excellent job of my new screen and everything worked as it should after fit I would recommend them.mark has 30 years experience and new his stuff well done mark.ps when ordering your screen they have two options budget screen and premium screen you must say what one u want to save any Confusion

Excellent service done by Mark,had a crack on the screen on my tesla and he filled it lovely.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT – Chips Ahoy Windscreens

I live in Essex and expected better treatment from a company so close to home. Instead, I got scammed.

Red flag #1: The location pin on their map? Completely fake. It drops you on a random busy road.

Red flag #2: My appointment was set for 12 pm – 5 pm. No one showed. No call. Nothing. I had to chase them. “Customer service” told me the fitter was packing up and would call. He didn’t. I called again — same guy, new excuse. Promised to get back to me… didn’t. Soon my calls went straight to voicemail.

Next day: No answer.
Day after: They called claiming the fitter “couldn’t reach me.” Yeah, right.

After reading more reviews, it was obvious — this is a scam operation. Some people even say they were threatened after leaving bad reviews. That’s why I reported them to Action Fraud and the police.

End result? I’m £80 down and a lot wiser.
Be warned: scammers are everywhere, even on your doorstep. Avoid at all costs.

Fitted a windscreen that after 2 days fell apart! Keep clear, they blamed me for choosing them and their product which is just insane.

This is the most big scam company which i meet in England. Two Saturdays in a row I've been trying to make an appointment with them and they tell me we ordered your glass but it's wrong we ordered your glass but there's no mirror stand. The car was up for sale for the simple reason that I couldn't replace the glass, so I couldn't sell the car either. At the same time this scam company try to blame me and they said they wouldn't give me my deposit back because it was my fault I don't know where his fault is People please Read the reviews don't buy anything from this company anymore Don't fall for the bait

I know it's a big company/franchise so I can only comment on whomever is servicing the Essex area but I've just wasted a week trying to arrange an appointment. No response to my last two messages.
Just called The Windscreen Company and it's all booked in for Tuesday with no hassle.

Jason fitted my wind screen due to a rather large crack! and the service was great!
On time, quick and efficient! Brilliant service even down to communication! Quick and easy! I will be recommending them to friends and family!

Booked this company to repair a small chip in my windscreen. Received a text at midnight saying they could arrive anytime between midnight and 5 pm the following day so I stayed in all day. At 2pm the man phoned me to tell me he was on his way but didn’t show up. No call to explain or anything. I got the repair done by another company the same day for £30 less.

tl;dr: stay clear of this company. They will mess you about for weeks. The actual fitting work was done quickly and appears well done, by Mark. (I'm writing this review ~3 hours after the fitting). If you do decide to go with them, record the phone calls and make sure you and charge back deposits.

I spoke to Anthony over the phone on the 14/05/25 - Seems reasonable and very personable. Confirmed the quote and was told they could come and fit 15/05/2025. I paid the £80 deposit there and then.

I got a confirmation text saying the fitter would be here Thursday the 18th May. 18th of May was a Saturday. I was confused and called for clarification. Anthony said it was typo. Sure, it happens.

I received no calls or updates on the Thursday until I chased up later afternoon around 5:00pm. I was fed a story saying that the supplier had messed up the order. Anthony told me that I would need to wait until Saturday because there wasn't a fitter available until then. Okay. benefit of the doubt.

Saturday rolled by. No updates, nothing. I called again and Anthony yet again told me that were issues and the supplier again. Anthony then told me if I could wait until Tuesday 20th may. Over the phone Anthony mentioned that this situation was "very stressful and causing a lot of anxiety".

Tuesday rolls by. Nothing. No updates. So I chased again. This time Anthony told me that the glass had been picked up and that but this "temporary" fitter had gone AWOL. Anthony then mentioned over text that this has "Deeply upset him and let him down".

Anthony over the phone will NOT guarantee a date and falls back to their T&C's on the website. Which is squirreled away at the bottom of the website. Anthony then says "Well you can just go to one of our static sites in Kent".

Finally, I'm told to wait until Monday 26th May (bank holiday). I receive a text saying the fitter will be here between 12:00am - 5:00pm (yes midnight). I don't hear anything from anyone. So I chase again at 5:30pm. Anthony tells me the fitter has run out of time and a new slot has been scheduled for 27th May.

Roll on to today (27th May) Mark arrives. Professional and personable. Made him a coffee. He cracked on fixed the windscreen. Sorted the wiper and made sure the sprayer worked too. Thank you Mark.

My overall experience - 3 weeks after the initial appointment the rear windscreen is fixed. The way the company is run is a joke. It's obvious they didn't have the capacity to fit me in. So why lie about it and constantly make excuses. Once or twice is fine. Past that it's just ridiculous.

Company should be called yeehaw Ahoy bunch of cowboys, basically rang to have a new front windscreen fitted at home, they messed me about with all sorts of excuses, finally had to drive from Kent to Essex as I read a previous review stating they would take ages to refund my money, once I got to their unit glass was fitted no apology for a week of messing me around then refused to give me a receipt or warranty for work done, not mobile and liars.

Chips ahoy changed my boot glass last week and I’m so happy with the outcome. Communication was amazing and the job was done perfectly - will definitely use them again in the future!

Sadly, I wish I had read the reviews properly before using this company, got scammed just like some of the others. Paid a deposit, booked in for a mobile windscreen replacement, then got told they couldn’t do it due to quality issues with the windscreen they collected from the supplier. Fair enough. Until… trying to get another fitting date was pretty much impossible, ignored, fed excuses, finally offered for us to travel to them to get it done, sorry, that’s not what mobile fitting is…. Had to claim deposit back via bank.
