I chose to publish my novel, A Golden Heart, through Clever Fox Publishing, opting for their Clay Print package. My project manager was Ms. Kamala Palaniappan. The overall experience has been quite disappointing. When the book was finally printed, I was dismayed to find that both the preface and the dedication page were missing. The service from the outset was below expectations—it took 12 days to confirm my online payment, despite several follow-ups. The entire process was marred by inefficiency and a lack of professionalism. Additionally, although I was promised three complimentary copies, I initially received only two. I have since been assured that the third copy will be delivered. Upon raising my concerns, Ms. Kamala Palaniappan contacted me to address the issue and spoke to me courteously. What’s done is done. I hold no ill will toward anyone and do not wish to lodge a formal complaint.

For my first book, Quantum Nation, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Clever Fox Publishing. Throughout the publishing process, Clever Fox demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication to quality. Their team was not only supportive but also highly responsive, guiding me through each stage with great attention to detail and enthusiasm. Their commitment to promoting new authors and innovative content was evident, making my journey into the world of publishing smooth and successful. Clever Fox Publishing’s transparent communication and efficient handling of editorial and distribution processes significantly contributed to the positive reception of Quantum Nation. MY EXPERIENCE WITH CLEVER FOX PUBLISHING SERVICES
My experience with Clever Fox Publishing, having published five books, has been highly rewarding. To begin with, Clever Fox offered sample Quick Publish templates in standard sizes, accompanied by valuable design guidelines for my books. Additionally, they provide promotional materials to authors for personal marketing efforts. The publishing house actively promotes books both locally and internationally. Therefore, I believe that Clever Fox Publishing meets the essential interests that authors and readers typically seek.
I received invaluable consultative support which instilled in me the confidence to collaborate with Clever Fox Publishing. Prior to this, I had considered other publishers in India, having previously published several books. Their prompt response in making my books available on online market platforms was motivating, and I aspire to achieve bestseller status and become a well-known author.
Clever Fox has demonstrated fairness and transparency in their financial practices by offering competitive royalty rates and delivering comprehensive royalty statements promptly. This level of transparency has cultivated a relationship built on trust and mutual respect, which is essential in the publishing sector. However, the provisions of Bank details do not allow authors like Uganda to receive our royalties. Bank of Baronda-Uganda branch does not have IFC CODE.

I hired cleverfox fox for publishing my book and also for promoting one book. I paid 14k for promotion. After money was paid they forced me to publish my book on jiffee bees. Also send them 10 copies. When I refused they adjusted the amount with my other book, which I did not authorise.

Their delivery is delayed and the quality of book cover designs was poor. Not proceeding with both the service. I lost 16k in this process.

I highly highly would not recommend to publish with them. Very rigid in their process. Unacceptable practices

I've given three stars, hoping the current situation I'm in will improve. My book was published during last week of September.My package with clever fox promised Amazon listing but to my shock, they have added a huge delivery charge and 15 days waiting period for delivery. So I paid up for the Prime listing immediately but even after a month there has been no update to the status. The Project consultant and Manager give a very standard reply- " We will inform the e commerce team and get back". Tests our patience!

I went with them based on reviews in the internet and learnt a lesson the hard way. They are extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. After the book released they are not available to on phone and only interact through emails. The cost of book to the author has increased to nearly the price of the book. The senior management is rude and intimidating and hence there is no point of escalation also for poor service. Once the book was released the printing quality deteriorated significantly. Overall a nightmare of an experience.

They did not deliver what was promised to me by Sales team. Chaning the project manager in the middle of the project did not help. The attitude and approach of some of their staff is very bad. They unilaterally suspended my project when still 50% of the work was pending. If you are publishing a coffee table book, my advice - just stay away from them

Update after the reply from Cleverfox - the response is incorrect as I have a mail from the project manager informing me that my project has been suspended. Also i am not looking for any complimentary / freebee services , I only want what I rightfully deserve as per agreed contract. cleverfox should stop misleading people with factually nor correct responses

2nd Update- subsequent to the response, so far no one from Cleverfox has contacted me to progress the project. It is obvious they do not have any intentions to complete the project.

As an author and also a customer I have had a very unpleasant experience with Cleverfox Publishing. They are misusing the trust of a customer and trying to earn money through unethical practices.

On 1st September 2023, I purchased a package of around Rs.22000 to publish my book and paid Rs.7827 as an advance. I submitted a ready-to-print PDF for the interior & cover. They were supposed to do a technical review. First one month, they have not reviewed the manuscript. After writing several emails and phone calls they approved my book cover and added 3 company logos to it. I objected about 3 logos, which were spoiling the aesthetics of the book. I also questioned them, without any contribution in design and editing from their side, why they want to put so many logos? Afterward, they agreed to put one logo on the back cover. Later inaction continued from their side. I wrote more than 50 emails in 2 months without any progress. After 2 months, they finalized my manuscript(without any contribution from their side) and secretly put another logo inside the book. I strongly objected to that. Then they pressurized me, to purchase another additional package, if I did not want any logo, otherwise, they would keep my book on hold. Secretly putting multiple logos in the book(when we agreed to put one logo) and trying to force the customer to purchase an additional package are not only very unprofessional acts but also unethical. By placing multiple logos in the book, Cleverfox is misusing the book for its advertising. The customer pays for every service and material to the publishers. If they want to place multiple logos for advertisement, as a professional courtesy they should at least inform/discuss with their customer. In the name of self-publishing, Cleverfox is misusing the trust of an ignorant customer. 3 months are over, still my book has not been published. Cleverfox not only breached the agreement, but they also forced me to purchase an extra business deal. I have lost all trust in Cleverfox. Since Cleverfox has not contributed anything to the book and has not published it, I requested them to return my money, which I paid in advance. They are refusing to return my money now. All authors should be aware about the unprofessional and unethical practices of this type of publishing house.

I had an amazing experience marketing with Ezhil. He is an expert at his work and extremely kind person. He patiently and systematically guided me and took my approvals at each step and made the marketing experience of my book smooth and enriching. Thank you
