College transitions was really helpful towards my application process. My essay coach did a wonderful job in aiding me to narrow down my topic ideas and clarify my paragraphs while maintaining an original tone. I also found the program schedule to be extremely beneficial; all of the deadlines were made very clear including deadlines for recommendation letters, essay drafts and submissions, tests, etc., it was particularly efficient in keeping me on track in the midst of a chaotic senior year. I also appreciated the custom list of colleges I should consider applying to from matches to reaches.

It was a pleasure working with Andrew Belasco and his team at College Transitions. As our daughter is an only child, my husband and I were unfamiliar on how to best navigate the college search process. We wanted to ensure that we found the best fit for her. She had high expectations and goals, having worked hard throughout High School, achieving excellent grades and having been involved in numerous community service activities. We wanted to maximize her chances of getting into a top tier school. The college list that Andrew developed for her was comprehensive and introduced us to schools that were completely off our radar. His knowledge of the college admission process and his guidance relative to her applications and essays are truly invaluable. In addition, CT’s college portal helped my daughter organize all the important information around her college applications and deadlines. The result --- my daughter is thrilled that she’s headed to WashU in St Louis. We’ll always be grateful to Andrew and his team.

Our son felt very overwhelmed with the college application process and we really didn’t want to nag and drag him along through the process as we figured it out ourselves. Andrew and the other coaches stepped in and really made it a manageable and understandable process guiding our son every step of the way from standardized test advice, internship choices, college selections, essay coaching, applications, and so forth. My son got accepted to 5 out of the 7 schools he applied to- and even got a large scholarship at one! Even more valuable, the process was a lot less stressful! For our son - this was exactly the help he needed.

College Transitions helped us tremendously with both of our students' college admissions process, but it was our son's experience that was so incredibly helpful.

Our son applied for top engineering programs; we had no idea of what he needed to do. Andrew looked over his transcript, grades, clubs and activities and gave positive feedback where appropriate. More importantly, however, he noted where relative weaknesses were and how our son could work to bolster those areas. With Andrew's help, our son crafted a well rounded list of schools to visit. When we visited schools, Andrew helped our son alter the list as he was better able to determine what he liked or did not like at those schools.

With the help of the essay coach, our son completed MANY drafts of essays until they were "as perfect as (he) could possibly make them". That was what he wanted and his essay coach provided that service for him. They were my son's words, that with the interactions and feedback from his coach, he was able to put together in phenomenal ways. Turnaround time for drafts was very quick, which worked well for my son's desired schedule.

Andrew was very accessible, with quick response time. When we had a concern based on the school's college counselor recommendation that was in conflict with what College Transitions had told us, we reached out to Andrew and he provided reassurance and feedback. In fact, the school counselor was wrong, as we found out when my son was accepted ED to his first choice program - a top 10 school and #2 for his major. We made the right decision - TWICE!

This was our first child headed to college. We knew the landscape had changed a lot since my husband and I applied to college a few decades ago. Also, our son was more laid back than both of us.

Ultimately, my son went ED1 and was accepted, but the guidance from Andrew was very helpful along the way for class selection, standardized testing, and extra curriculars. Moreover, the support from Emily (writing coach) for assisting with reviewing application answers, brainstorming supplemental essays, and editing my son's common app submission was terrific.

Overall, It was great to have a neutral and educated third party in between us and my son the entire time. They were honest with our options and kept us in the loop, but my son was their main point of contact taking ownership of his future.

Andrew, Michael and Sarah were a great team to work with. Our son felt very comfortable approaching them with questions, requesting suggestions and talking about any changes while the applications were being worked on. Very prompt communication throughout the process. Our son was in the driver's seat being aptly guided by the team. This built his confidence about his choices, made him a better writer and a deeper thinker. Thank you!

We hired College Transitions to help our twin sons navigate the college admissions maze.
We became acquainted with College Transitions fairly late in the process (around 8/2022). Our boys had a fairly large college list and it became clear that it was too much and they needed some help/advice on what was realistic for them as well as advice in how to present themselves on the applications.
It became clear that Andrew and Michael understood the boys' situations and gave us solid advice on their relative chances at the various schools. They also recommended a lot of great schools that were not on their radar.
In the end, both boys whittled their list from 25+ to 12, eventually balooning up to 16 schools, 5 of which were great recommendations from Andrew and Michael. They strongly advise no more than a dozen applications. Given the amount of work each application entailed (5 hours per application seems a good estimate), I would agree. One son even added a couple schools based on general discussions with Andrew and Michael and additional research...one of which he will be attending this fall.
Both boys wound up deciding to apply ED based their research, their preferences and on the information Andrew and Michael provided...they were both accepted which was a great outcome (and greatly de-stressed them before the winter break).
Andrew provided great feedback on their college apps, and they worked with an essay specialist (Emily) to help steer them to get their personal statement and essays in shape.
I would also add that CollegeTransition's two books are very useful and packed with great information...some of the best books available on the subject (wish we had read them sooner).
They have a deep and broad understanding of the colleges and each college's admissions processes. They also work with a wide variety of students nationwide which is also important for understanding how each student fits in the applicant pool.
Finally, College Transitions was super professional and very responsive even during the grind of August through November of early applications...I was frankly surprised that they could be as responsive as they were (they seem to be very on-the-ball in everything they do, their book, website, and advising).
If I had kids going through this again, I would not hesitate to engage College Transitions for them.

knowledgeable, accessible, quick responses

I started working with the team of College Transitions at the end of my junior year in high school through a senior package. My experience is that they are very knowledgeable in this field. They have provided great and useful information in terms of choosing my senior classes, finding summer opportunities, creating a college list and responding to the colleges' questions. They explain information very clearly and always respond to my emails quickly with effective answers. Their writing coach was exceptionally supportive even if I submitted my essay drafts very late in the evenings or right before the deadlines. Their website offers great information.

Had an amazing experience with College Transitions. Everything I needed to do, whether it be applying, completing documents, writing essays, uploading transcripts, etc., was all laid out for me and the whole process was a piece of cake. I got into and currently go to Clemson University as an electrical engineer and don’t think I could have gotten in without College Transitions - they really made the process easy and organized and were constantly available for communication when I was confused on what to do. I would recommend them to anyone if you want to guarantee that you are doing everything required to get into a university.
