Not worth the money, energy or time

Firstly, I don't want this review to come off anything more than being factual. I am simply conveying our experience with Dr Hakim Salim based out of his Leicester branch. Me and my family had a video call with Hakim Salim a couple years ago for numerous health issues we were facing at the time. I paid an extortionate amount of money just for a short-lived video call with him and I was honestly flabbergasted by the advice he issued. As someone who conducts their research, I was well versed with my medical condition given I had been in and out of hospital for years on end. However, some of the 'recommendations' he offered made me wonder whether he was ridiculing me (which I honestly didn't believe he did as that would have been extremely mean as I was classed as disabled) or whether he genuinely didn't know ANYTHING about my conditions and simply thought providing me google-based responses would suffice. He suggested foods to me that would have exacerbated my condition severely; i know this because I had previously attempted to consume these foods in the past and had severe reactions to them. Some of what was being suggested was honestly so ridiculous that I wondered whether basic high-school biology was lost on him. In retrospect, it was, because anyone with a clinical mind, a half-sensible mind and someone who would have understood the biology of a body (especially a diseased body, which he claims he helps to heal) would never provide such stupid advice. I left the call very upset but also hard-done by, almost to the point where I felt I had been scammed. Now, I'm sure hakim helps to 'heal' many other people (probably those whose conditions can be healed by placebo medication and wishy washy words uttered in a half-docile and spiritually-calming voice) but for everyone else who has ACTUAL real world medical conditions, he is simple unable to help in any real capacity. I know this because I had referred him to numerous family members and friends and they all conveyed the same or similar experience - all of it underpinned by his lack of medical knowledge and appreciation of the illness for which ailment was being sought for. If a 'doctor' (especially one who prides themselves on a holistic natural method like him) doesn't understand the medical condition at heart, then it's very difficult to trust anything being said. He literally provided me with a list of foods I should be eating even though I knew 100% that my body would react adversely to them. I paid him over-the-earth and do not believe he helped me and at least 5 of our family and friend circles, all with (funnily enough) very different medical conditions. I'd stay well away and do your own critical research (since all you'll really get is googled-nonsense anyway). Don't say I didn't warn you.

Fake courses with no value

Not much is taught. So much time wasting and a bit of a shabby building. Be careful because this is not what it is made out to be. There are other options out there so do your research. Plus students are pressurised in purchasing their health products and paying for consultations. £2000 wasted on top of travel costs, accommodation etc. Total waste!

The College is invaluable in sharing…

The College is invaluable in sharing the rich tradition of Unani Tibb medicine. This is exemplified by the wisdom and guidance of Hakim Salim Khan and his unique way of relaying and teaching this ancient tradition. The course is not only informative but life changing to say the least. It sheds light on understanding oneself and health in an all-encompassing and balanced way, a much needed outlook to health in our modern age.
