Friendly, caring, understanding staff at CPC.

My beautiful elderly cat went to Rainbow Bridge on the 7th of August. I wanted her individually cremated so I contacted CPC the following day. I was a blubbering mess on the phone. My cat hadn't had a good life before she came to me and I spoilt her and gave her the best of everything. She was around 20 when she passed I called her Scarlett but always ended up calling her Princess, so that name stuck.

So, calling CPC was really hard for me. The lady on the other end of the phone however was so understanding, patient, caring and helpful that she made the process a lot easier for me. I explained what I wanted for Princess and what casket i wanted and she assured me Princess will be taken care of.

I must have called another three times. The following day to check that she had been picked up from the vets. Again, so lovely on the phone. They also rang the PDSA on my behalf as the PDSA asked to be emailed about what arrangements I had made for Princess and they didn't respond to my email. This worried me as I thought if they don't read my email, they may dispose of her. So, CPC called them for me and sorted everything out and rang me back to let me know.
I then called them yesterday to ask how long it would be before I get Princess home. CPC say 7 to 14 days so they were not taking a long time, it was just me being impatient wanting my girl home again. I was told she was due to be home with me the following day, which is today. They lady also called me back with the name of the courier so i could look out for a text they will send me giving me an approx time when Princess would be home. I found this such a lovely thing to do. She didn't have to ring me back with that information. She did that off her own back because she understood how upset i was.
Sure enough, i received a text this morning giving me a two-hour window when Princess would be home and she arrived within half an hour of that window.
The way they packaged her ashes was so respectful too. Firmly wrapped with fragile on. Then in a lovely box with her name on, and a little sympathy card which was really lovely. Then I took Princess out who was in a beautiful beech casket with a gold nameplate.
I couldn't have asked for more from CPC. They were caring, understanding, respectful, helpful and most of all, they returned my girl giving her dignity.
Thank you so much CPC for such a smooth, professional service and for bringing my Princess home safely again. In a time that has been really hard for me, you helped to make it a little bit easier and I wont forget that.

Absolutely excellent

Absolutely excellent service lost our big boy Seve who was 13 years old Monday 25th july late afternoon at 5pm, rang them next morning to organise collection from our vet and individual cremation and return of his ashes so kind and understanding made the process as easy as possible got our boy back today 4th of August along with a beautiful
sympathy card confirming his cremation on the 28th July .would like to say a big thank you for making such a terrible time as easy as possible would definitely recommend and use again when the need arises .many thanks

Avoid...

My poor 20 year old cat was put to sleep yesterday. It was a very quick decision after finding out how much pain she was in and were told by our vets she would be sent for creamation and scattered in CPC's rose garden. Being so distraught, we just agreed, paid and left. First thing this morning we called our vets and said we would like to pay fo have her home only to be told she had already been taken to the creamatorium and that I would have to call them to arrange this. I was assured they were sympathetic and well-mannered people who would do their best to accommodate our wish to have her home.

After being on hold for 20 minutes, a lady (I'm not sure of her name) answered the phone very bluntly. I explained our situation and what the vet had told us to do, however the lady quite quickly said "sorry she's here now there's nothing I can do". At this point the creamation had not taken place and I would have expected at least some kind of attempt to arrange for a private creamation, or failing that, for her to be returned to our vets so she could be taken elsewhere. Instead I was told there's absolutely nothing they can (more like want) to do, despite the fact she had not been cremated and I was happy to pay any extra charges to have her sent home. The conversation lasted all of 5 minutes, with a quick "sorry for your loss". I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of customer service and after reading the reviews I hate to think of how she was treated during her cremation today. I wonder whether she was just tossed in carelessly without a second thought, whether she truly will be scattered in a beautiful rose garden like promised. I not only have to experience loss and knowing I cannot bring her home, but also now wonder whether she was actually treated with respect.

I would avoid this company, and if you have any issues regarding a cremation then don't expect them to do anything about it.

Thank you for your comments and we are so sorry you felt let down by your experience with CPC at such a difficult time.

I am unsure as to the exact circumstances without further information (vet practice details), but I must advise you that all pets destined for a communal cremation are cremated upon return to site, so we would not have been able to retrieve your pet unless we were notified of the change of instruction whilst our vehicle was still in transit back to our site. I am sorry that you were led to believe that this was different by your veterinary practice, and that the advisor you spoke came across blunt.

I can assure you that a token amount of ash from each communal cremation is scattered in our garden of remembrance. Our gardens are available to visit Mon - Sat 8.30-5pm.

Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

A dignified cremation

We recently had our beautiful Cavalier KC boy Woody cremated at CPC Cambridge. Couldn't have wished for anything better. The staff were wonderful, sensitive and caring. Woody was given a dignified and respectful cremation in his little white coffin. We were able to be with him before hand, and brought him home with us later that same day in a lovely wooden casket engraved with his name and dates. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Thank you to all staff involved, especially to Ruben. A wonderful dignified send off that helped ease our grief.

Please, if you love your pet do not use this company.
I was treated awfully by the telephone receptionist from the moment she answered. We had only lost our boy the day before and I wanted to speak to someone to reassure me but all I got was “we don’t speak to third party’s, you will have to speak to your vet”
I wanted to make sure he was being cremated on his own and that we wanted an urn not a scatter tube, her reply was “you will get what’s on the paper work, otherwise you will have to speak to your vet”
On a number of occasions she referred to me as a “third party” and “speak to your vet” even though they had MY boy.
This put massive doubts into my mind about how pets are treated by this company so I looked at testimonials and trustpilot and what I read was shocking, it made me cry, people’s pets being treated disgracefully. Some people had also complained before about their telephone manner but nothing seems to have been addressed.
I went to my vets on the 8th to ask them to ring this company up and ask had they cremated our boy yet, the vets phoned CPC and they replied yes. Unknown to them I was prepared to travel to Sheffield and pick our boy up and take him to a much nicer place near to our home that has much better reviews and testimonials and their phone manner is much more professional.
When we picked our boy up from the vets the date on the certificate said he was cremated on the 9th. I think that sums this company up.
PLEASE, if you want peace of mind for your pet use another company, all this company has done is put doubts in my mind with no reassurance whatsoever from the first contact to the last.

Whilst I do understand that the phrases used were insensitive, our customer in this instance was the Veterinary Practice and we were not able to share details with yourself (even though he was your pet). Whilst this is extremely frustrating, we would not share your details with anyone else calling asking about your pet if you had come to us directly.
CPC treat all pets with respect, care and dignity and I apologise that you feel this wasn't the case with you.

I've signed up for this disgraceful plan 6 years ago, when my cat was 14 years old and I wanted to make sure that I'd be prepared when I lost her. I've been blessed to have had her for another 6 years and she's now 20, but unfortunately the time has now come to say goodbye. I'm putting her to sleep on Saturday, so I called CPC Cares to arrange her body to be collected from my home after the visit from the vet who will perform the euthanasia. I called and called and left a message and nothing happened. I emailed them requesting a call back from the contact us form on their website, and filled out my name, email address and phone number, and finally received an email written all in capitals "HI CAN WE PLEASE HAVE THE TELEPHONE NUMBER". Nothing else. No hello, sorry to hear that you are saying goodbye to your pet, can we please have the best number to contact you, best regards". When I scrolled down on the email, sure enough my phone number was there, since I had put it on the contact us form. But I replied anyway, giving them my mobile. Some Ruben then called me to say that things have changed since I signed up for the plan and that they couldn't honour the contract they had signed with me 6 years ago, and that was fully paid for 1 year after that. He then offered to refund me the money I paid 5 years ago, without any interest or anything, after holding it for that long. And now I'm left with the stress to have to arrange and pay for her cremation, during a time when I desperately needed to have peace of mind to see my girl leaving me after 20 years of companionship. AND THERE'S MORE! After he called me to say that they wouldn't honour the contract, he called me again to ask me to send an email confirming my account details for the refund, after I had given him all the details over the phone. But because I have a new bank account, they needed me to request the refund in writing. I mean, I'm disgusted to the core. I signed up for that stupid plan exactly not to have to go through the stress to have to arrange everything at once (euthanasia, collection, cremation) when the time came. I'm so angry I can't even explain how much. And the worst is that there was no sympathy whatsoever from the people I spoke to on the phone. AVOID THIS PEOPLE!!!

Had to have my poor princess put to…

Had to have my poor princess put to sleep, was the hardest thing in the world. Lou Lou Bell was my life, 13 years old, my baby, the telephone service I recieved was good, but waiting to go and collect her was the most awful distressing thing ever.
Our drive there wasn’t a pleasant drive knowing it was her last journey, I was upset as expected. You knew I was on my way, it was a very wet morning, i was told to report to reception. On arrival i went to the reception as directed, only to be met with a guy who answered the door in high vis work clothing, i told him if come to collect my dog, he asked name and said 2 minutes, so im stood outside, upset in rain. He then came back and handed me my baby in a paper bag and just said sorry for your loss!!! i was totally shocked, it was like taking delivery off a take away!!! It maybe your day to day job, but this was my baby, im discusted by the way i was treated, where is your compassion????
Then i go onto read your reviews, which really makes me wonder, how was she treated, was she looked after? did she recieve a dignified cremation???
Or was she discareded like rubbish, which people claim to have seen???
Im totally distraught, i now have her with me in a beech casket, but im not happy, if as a company you feel thats accetable to treat me in that way, how did you treat my baby in my absence????

CPC does care

After losing Biscuit to a long and courageous fight, I was devastated. My vets advised me to contact CPC and I am glad I did. The lady I spoke to was so kind and generous with her time. She explained all the options and I was happy with my choice. Biscuit was home with me in a week and he arrived is a lovely sleeping cat urn and there was a lovely card from CPC too. Very pleased with the service and would recommend.

Please do not use this company. My dog was put to sleep on the 11th April, I called CPC the same day and asked that my dog be collected the same day he assured me she would be as they were making a visit to collect other pets from there that day. I stressed to him that I really didn’t want her to stay in the freezer of the vets overnight and he assured me she wouldn’t be. He said I would have my girl back within 7-10 days. As she was still not home on the 27th April and having allowed for bank holiday I called to check what the delay was. He told me my girl had not been collected on the 11th as promised but left until the 25th April in cold storage at the vets. I was completely heartbroken to think she was there for two weeks. He then went on to say she would be back home for Friday 29th April and they would contact us on the day with a time so I could make sure I was home to take her. We didnt get a text, what we did get was a picture from a neighbour to say that had taken a parcel in for us. We assumed from the picture it was a pair of shoes we had ordered we didn’t think for a minute it was our Precious baby left on the bottom of someone’s stairs. This company are a disgrace!

I am sure that the advisor you spoke with was providing the correct information they had at the time as they would not have been aware of impending delay.
As CPC are only able to collect pets which are correctly documented and requested for collection by the veterinary practice, we are very sorry that there was a long delay and that this caused so much distress, CPC would not in anyway want any pet parents to experience such a delay.

Our chosen courier service should have text regarding the delivery of your pets ashes and again, we are incredibly sorry for this failure. This feedback will be passed on.

Thank you for taking care of my boy

They were very busy when I had to initially contact them and I was worried because it was over the Easter bank holiday, but they took care of my boy Castiel, and he was returned to us today in a beautiful little scatter tube. His loss was very sudden and painful, but CPC were very nice and they sent him in a very well packaged box with prompt delivery. Thank you for your consideration when taking care of our beloved family member.

I've just taken receipt of an item that…

I've just taken receipt of an item that I've waited 10 days for. I tried to contact sales to see why there was a delay, as I had a customer waiting, but no response. I've just seen the CPC response and all I can add is that I can understand a delay in the response, but my item was clearly not in stock, so why show that it was?

Some of our online items in our shop come direct from our suppliers and after the order is processed, delivery can take 5-7 working days (5-10 days) for delivery. Usually all orders are received within 5 days but occasionally there is a delay. We are sorry that your item was not delivered sooner and you were left waiting for the maximum delivery time.

Rainbow bridge called Reggie 💔

On the 28th of Feb our beautiful Rottie Reggie had his very own cremation with CPC cares and what can I say.... The compassion and service was faultless. The sympathy card, the scatter tube even the box he arrived home in was so so special. Thank you for taking care of Reggie's final steps across rainbow bridge, from the bottom of our broken hearts we will never forget your care for us xx

I very recently had to say sweet dreams…

I very recently had to say sweet dreams to one of my fur babies, Before I had to do this I spoke to cpc and asked questions that were important to me. Cpc were very sympathetic and patient towards my emotional state and set my mind at easy to my questions. When I spoke to cpc again to arrange the cremation again the lady I spoke to was very helpful with my specific needs and wants for my fur baby and set mind at further at ease reading and spelling details back to me making sure everything was perfect. My fur baby is now home again and her beautiful casket is perfect for her.

CPC does care

I recently had to use CPC as my dog had to be put to sleep in early December. They were so caring and understanding that I didn’t have the money to pay all upfront and we’re willing to take multiple payments. I received my Copper back in a beautiful urn after the last payment was made by mum and he arrived so carefully packaged and I felt that CPC did really care. Thank you.

Sadly we have had to use CPC services…

Sadly we have had to use CPC services twice this year, once for my family dog Munro and once for my partners family dog Buddy. Both family members ashes came back beautifully and respectfully with little cards of condolences. Even the sprinkler tube is beautifully designed in a pale,calm blue. There were no faults with either set of ashes and can only thank them for being so kind

Used their service through the vets, no issues at all.
My beloved dog's ashes were put in a nicely made box with her name on it. A lovely card was left with the box, all in timely manner and nicely presented.

Aftercare

Having lost our beloved Buffy in 2017, suddenly while on holiday in Oxford we had no choice but to have her Cremated. This was traumatic, but necessary. We were assured that the casket we chose was suitable to be kept in the house.
The Casket has sadly begun to turn black and detoriate. Having contacted CPC for advice we were told they could offer nothing, not even a discount on a new Memorial container. They now do not even answer my e-mails. All I would say is beware, there are certainly more caring people out there than CPC
